Hevo's biggest advantage is its simplicity. It makes setting up data pipelines incredibly easy, even for people who aren't programmers. The huge number of apps it connects to is a real time-saver; you don't have to build custom integrations for everything. This means you get real-time data flowing into your warehouse quickly, which is crucial for making good decisions based on current information. Basically, it lets you focus on using the data, not wrestling with the technicalities of getting it. The customer support is also really good and prompt. We are using daily this pipelines. Its been really easy to integrate with sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hevo Data? Limited control over pipeline runs and scheduling. Troubleshooting is difficult due to opaque connector workings. Manual refreshes don't always fix synchronization problems. Lack of granular control hinders effective problem-solving. Oracle RDS to redshift facing too many issues due to missing permissions and there is no proper documentation where we can see the actual implementation and steps to setup. In our natural retreats business, Hevo Data solves the problem of replicating data from our Oracle RDS to Redshift for real-time reporting. Hevo is so simple and easy to hook up with a source data platform and a destination data platform. It really helped us out of a jam in figuring out our data warehouse strategy and implementation. We were recommended to Hevo by Snowflake and it was painless and effortless to get things moving. I also like that it supports a wide variety of options for handling incremental data, such as change tracking (CT) in SQL Server - I've not found many other products that do. Many support change data capture (CDC) which Hevo does too, but CT is more lightweight and is a good SQL Server option. Hevo supports it but few others do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hevo Data? It would be nice if we could file pipelines under folders or categorise them in some way. It would also be great if we could duplicate pipelines. Let's say we have a bunch of source databases with the same schema and we want to do the same thing to all of them, with a different table prefix when they land in the destination. It would be awesome if we could manage pipelines at scale like this. However, the biggest thing I dislike is, sadly, Hevo has a limit. It won't stop you mass-creating pipelines but there are only so many it can handle before it can't keep up with schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. It helped us by being platform-agnostic and giving us one place to manage all our data loads, and more importantly because it's super easy to work with. Hevo is a fairly cheap product that comes with a lot of tech support from their team. Hevo's team responds promptly and has a ton of quick support options. What do you dislike about Hevo Data? there is a ton of bugs and features still in development. I was consistently on tech support for random glitches that slowed my work down tremendously. It was very easy to erase tons of work without any version control to get that work back. Their APIs are so convoluted to use, that it makes replication better to do manually. It is a relatively straightforward setup of SQL databases. The auto-mapping feature makes setting up a SQL database sync relatively quick. They have a lot of different connectors. Their price is more competitive than other products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hevo Data? We have bought an annual contract for 300 million rows per month, the problem is, if you don't use your 300 million rows per month, it does not carry over to the next month, and databases never sync the exact same amount of rows every month, so you either paying for rows you never sync, or run short and then have to top up by buying more rows, this billing strategy needs to change ASAP. The metadata date rows they add to tables are in Unix timestamp format (\_\_HEVO\_\_INGESTED\_AT, \_\_HEVO\_\_LOADED\_AT), which is relatively easy to work out, they should just add a proper date time data type to these metadata rows. For all of our SQL databases, we had 1 table with about 34 million rows, but had a composite primary key of 2 columns, they could not sync these tables faster then 1 million rows per day, so it basically took over a month to sync these tables into our Snowflake data warehouse, and even after opening a support ticket, they could not increase the speed of these indivudual tabels sync to get the historical sync completed quicker. We put all our production database data into snowflake for reporting and data analytics, and data science strategies to be done on the data. Unable to sign up for the service as they refuse to allow .edu addresses. As a higher education institution, we must use our official work addresses, but their sign-up tool will refuse to let us do so, their support will not work around the issue, and point-blank refuse us to sign up.
