There's a wide variety of supported data sources and destinations like RDS and Snowflake which is what we use in our tech stack. Setup is really simple and live chat support is very responsive in the rare instances where further assistance is needed. We have all kinds of different use cases that are surprisingly supported, such as even a Google drive spreadsheet which enables data needs from even non-technical teammates. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** I think the simplicity comes at a cost of flexibility in terms of certain options that leave a bit to be desired. For example, API-based polling options are quite rigid when one expects that to be a little more free-form given the open-endedness of supporting a vague set of requirements there. Another poor experience is if things really are not going well an often suggested solution is to run a whole new historical load which can take a very long time to resolve for large data sets. **What problems is Hevo Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hevo solves data replication needs for us without needing to involve a large data engineering team. It's quick to setup and pipe our live service data into a data lake for analysis. ### 2. It is also by far the cheapest on the market, especially for small and medium businesses. It's generally easy to use and navigate, although a recent change did degrade this experience, the destination no longer has our custom names, it is just the name of the connector. I'm sure this is something that will change as feedback comes through. It does perform consistently and rarely errors on its own and does send good alerts when users or external platforms cause errors. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** Support is a bit lacking, especially now that there is an AI layer. Internally we kind of use their support as a rubber duck to talk through the problem but usually have to solve problems ourselves. They have decent docs so this is not a big problem. The other thing that could use improvement is the python-based transformation layer, they've told us the way they execute doesn't allow us to get good error messages. **What problems is Hevo Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** We serve many different types of clients and ingest data from numerous different CRMs and Hevo is very adaptable and we rarely need to use an alternative solution for moving data. ### 3. Setting up the pipeline is really easy, which makes the process straightforward. Whenever there's trouble, the customer service is there to help. Hevo Data is also smart enough to replicate complex nested data structures from MongoDB in a good way to BigQuery. The initial setup process is quite simple because you just need to whitelist Hevo Data on your side, input credentials, and specify what to replicate and how often, and then Hevo Data handles the rest. It's really well made. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** I can't identify something which could be better at Hevo Data, to be honest. Maybe a clearer billing. Whether you're working with SFTP, Snowflake, Webhook, Facebook, or other sources, the process is smooth and easy to manage. The integration capabilities are excellent. Customer support is outstanding—I have never had a ticket go unresolved, and every issue has been addressed within a very reasonable timeframe. I use Hevo at least once a week. However, now that most of our pipelines are already set up, I mainly use it for occasional checks or when I need to create new pipelines. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** At this point in time I can't really say I have issues with Hevo. **What problems is Hevo Data solving and how is that benefiting you?** Previously, our integration tool was quite expensive. The errors that hevo provide at event level, load time and ingestion time metrics are good and sometimes it helps to debug the issue. Also I really like the auto schema inference in sources like MongoDB and the great feature, `auto json columns flattening` which updates the target schema automatically and as a user we don't need to do manual schema mapping. **What do you dislike about Hevo Data?** Some datatypes in destination like postgres, uuid is not supported. Also Hevo doesn't have a owner entity for a pipeline, so sometime it becomes difficult to tag owner of the pipeline. The api integration with hevo make it feasible to automate things as well from observability point of view. This is a feature other tools did not have. The tool is also much cheap compared to competitors. Pipelines dont automatically scale but once we had help from hevo all was working smoothly.
