Ultimately, I don't like how my writing "sounds" after I've run it through Hemingway. Its suggestions are just too ... "caustic"... for my tastes. I like the fact that Hemingway helps me to improve my sentence structure and reduce fluff. It also grades my reading and helps me to know if I am still within the required range or off. I also like the tab that is on the right that shows you your readability, number of adverbs, if you have used passive voices and the number of difficult sentences. Hemingway also loads slowly on my computer when using the Edge browser and sometimes it does not align sentence structure well for a none native English speaker. Hemingway editor is really an advanced editor which is available online for free and we have the option to purchase the software and use it on our pc. Sometimes Hemingway editor is not friendly especially when we need a quick draft and at that time Grammarly seems to be good. The Hemingway Editor makes it easy to tailor written content for my intended audience. I love being able to see the readability of what I'm writing based on grade level. The multi-color highlighting of different issues like number of adverbs, passive voice, and difficulty of reading, make me a better communicator and helps make sure that my end reader can grasp the concept quickly and easily. I'd love to see more actionable recommendations of how to fix content but as a free tool, it's well-rounded. The immediate information you receive as soon as you add content to the editor is invaluable, made even better as you can work within the editor to update and improve your copy.
