"Reliable, Lightweight Security and Patch Management Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really like how lightweight Heimdal is on the client side—it has minimal impact on device performance but still gives us all the functionality we need from an IT management perspective. The automated patching, especially for Windows zero-days and third party apps, has been a real game changer. I appreciate that once it's set up, it just works in the background and lets us focus on other priorities. The reporting and visibility into vulnerabilities, plus the ability to scale with more modules, is also a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The setup process was a bit complicated, and navigating some areas of the platform can be unintuitive at first. It took me a while to get familiar with where everything is and how to make certain changes. Once you get used to it, it's fine, but the initial learning curve could definitely be improved to make it more user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extensive functions and seamless integration of all services in one agent"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

Functionality of the software, integration of all services into one agent. The POC was unusually detailed and thorough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

The dashboard is partially confusing. One needs a certain amount of time to get familiar with its operation. The ZTEP module should be improved. It reports many false positive events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

We're glad to hear that you appreciate our extensive cybersecurity platform, patch management and remote desktop included.

Thank you for sharing your experience with using the dashboard and our Zero-Trust Execution Protection feature. We keep working to improve user experience and reduce false positive events, so your feedback will help us do just that.

"Unified Security Platform Delivering Visibility and Efficiency"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

UI / UX

The interface is clean and generally easy to navigate. While most core features are accessible, some advanced options (like role management and account settings) could be more intuitive and consistently visible across user roles.

Integrations

Heimdal integrates well with standard security workflows. However, deeper integrations and clearer documentation around role-based access and feature availability would further improve usability.

Performance

Overall performance is stable with minimal latency. Security modules operate efficiently without noticeable impact on endpoint performance in day-to-day operations.

Pricing / ROI

The platform offers good value considering the range of security features provided. It aligns well with organizations looking for consolidated security capabilities under a single solution.

Support / Onboarding

Support has been responsive and helpful in resolving queries. Onboarding is straightforward, though additional guidance on advanced configurations and role-based features would enhance the experience.

AI / Intelligence

The platform provides useful threat detection and actionable insights. While effective, more transparency into detection logic and enhanced analytics visibility would add further value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Some advanced features, particularly around role management and account configurations, are not always clearly visible or intuitive based on user roles. Documentation could be more detailed for these areas. Additionally, greater transparency in certain security insights and detection logic would help improve analysis and troubleshooting. Minor improvements in UI consistency across modules would also enhance the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your experience with Heimdal's Unified Security Platform. We're happy to learn our tech support is helpful and responsive and that

our threat prevention, patch management, and endpoint protection solutions enabled you to respond to threats faster, save time, and have a clearer overview of your endpoints.

We'll keep working to improve our products and your feedback about a more detailed documentation and more transparency into detection logic will help us do a better and more accurate job.

I don't know if you follow our webinar series the Heimdal Labs, but each month we hold one and you might find useful insights about how things work under the hood of each of the Heimdal's XDR's platform modules. This month at Heimdal Labs one of our threat hunters in the SOC (MXDR) team will be there for demos and answering questions. Info here - https://heimdalsecurity.com/webinars?partner=G2rev

"Lightweight, Intuitive, and Backed by Great Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

For the end-users, Heimdal is lightweight, so no massive hit on system resources like other agents, and intuitive to use. From a SysAdmin point of view, the dashboard is informative without being cluttered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Some of the more advanced features can be a bit tricky to enable without help from the support team, but they’re great once you get them set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thanks for the feedback, we're happy to know that the Heimdal Agent works as smoothly as intended and that the dashboard gives you exactly the information you need, nothing more, nothing less.

"Solid Patch Management with Room for Improvement on Endpoint Clarity"
4/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really like the ease of the dashboard for querying update status and compliance, as well as Heimdal's ability to manage patching for devices over the internet—not just those on the corporate network. The API access and ability to pull detailed build numbers for compliance reporting have been invaluable for our scripts and automation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

I dislike the misleading information shown on the endpoint, specifically the 'up to date' tick that appears even when a device has only been on for a short time. This causes confusion among users and makes it harder to ensure genuine compliance, as they often believe updates are complete when they're not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Automated Updates and Threat Reduction Make Heimdal a Strong Choice"
4/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

The automation is the best aspect for me—Heimdal takes care of updates for third-party applications and device drivers without manual intervention. It has revealed applications installed that I wasn't even aware of, and has significantly reduced our threat score. The USB device control was a key reason for choosing Heimdal, and having the ability to push out updates and driver updates is a real bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

If I’m being really picky, although the initial support response is quick and helpful, I feel the troubleshooting could be more thorough. For instance, when we’ve had remote control issues, the support team sometimes closes tickets too quickly or assumes the problem is on our side, instead of proactively investigating by pulling logs or clearly suggesting next steps. A bit more in-depth support would make the overall experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. We're glad that our patch and asset management solution helped find and remove shadow IT as well as the risks associated with it.

The feedback on support response experience is equally valuable, as it will help us to better understand your needs and expectations.

"Amazing, Knowledgeable Support and Strong Security Performance"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

The support is amazing—very quick to respond to questions and to get issues resolved. The team is also incredibly knowledgeable, which makes the whole experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

I see Heimdal primarily as a security product, and it performs well in that role. Its RMM offering is improving, but there’s still a sizable gap between Heimdal and, for example, Ninja, which is fine given where Heimdal is positioned. That said, better integrations with more mature RMM platforms would be much appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Heimdal's support team and its unified dashboard. We're happy to know this approach works so well for you and that it saves time for the team.

We'll keep working to improve our solutions, so your feedback on RMM integrations is equally valuable.

"Comprehensive, User-Friendly Security Platform for Busy IT Teams"
5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really appreciate the ease of use and the broad scope of applications Heimdal provides. The patch management has been a huge help, and the 24/7 SOC team has given me peace of mind, allowing me to sleep at night knowing our systems are monitored. The unified dashboard makes managing everything much easier, especially since I'm the only tech for our schools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Honestly, it's hard to think of a downside. If I had to pick something, it's that it's not free, but given the value, I can’t complain much. Overall, no major problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

We're happy to hear our cybersecurity software and SOC team was so helpful for you. Thanks for sharing your experience in detail - it helps us focus more on the things that really matter to our users.

"Solid Patch Management with a Clear Dashboard, but Scheduling Can Be Tricky"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

I really like the front-end experience, particularly the dashboard home page. It provides clear visibility of third‑party patch management and update status, with intuitive click‑through navigation. The information is presented clearly on the landing page, making it easy to understand current status at a glance and enabling straightforward, effective monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

It can get a bit complicated when trying to look at the scheduling on the dates, especially when trying to schedule it around other schedules like Microsoft Patch Tuesdays. Lining up the weeks and making sure patch deployment fits our testing and deployment process is not as intuitive as I'd like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Hello,

Happy to hear you find our dashboard intuitive. Thank you for your feedback, we heard you and we'll continue to work towards improving our patch management's scheduling features.

Until then, did you get the chance to see this demo on 3rd party patch management sequencing order? Might come in handy at some point, although it doesn't solve the problem you wrote us about.

"Low-Maintenance Performance, Great Pricing, and Lightning-Fast Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Heimdal?

You don’t have to maintain it all day long; it just works in the background, doing what you configured it to do, with minimal administration. Performance and pricing is what is the most beneficial for us. Support is among the fastest we ever had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Heimdal?

Management can be a bit challenging, since it’s missing a few parts I’m used to having. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Livia Gyongyosi of Heimdal

Thank you for your positive feedback on Heimdal's performance, pricing, and support. Sorry to hear that you find management challenging. We appreciate your input and we'll keep working to improve that.
