## About Heap by Contentsquare
Heap by Contentsquare is a Product Analytics platform that automatically captures every user interaction on your website or app — no manual event tagging, no developer dependency, no data gaps. Founded in Silicon Valley in 2013, Heap was acquired by Contentsquare in 2023 and is now fully integrated as Contentsquare's Product Analytics capability. With Heap by Contentsquare, product, data, and marketing teams can instantly answer questions like: - Where are users dropping off in a funnel? - Which features are actually being adopted — and which are being ignored? - What drives retention and long-term loyalty across devices and sessions? - What's the user journey from first visit to conversion? What makes it different: Autocapture — every click, tap, and interaction is recorded automatically from day one, with no pre-planned instrumentation needed Funnels, paths, retention & segmentation — the full product analytics toolkit, out of the box Website icon Session replay — jump from a data point directly to a recording to see the "why" behind the numbers Sense AI — ask questions in plain language, get proactive insights, and auto-quantified impact Connected to the full Contentsquare platform — combine Product Analytics with DXA heatmaps, error monitoring, and Voice of Customer (Hotjar surveys) for a 360° view of the customer experience Data Connect — sync your autocaptured data directly into Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift Website icon Whether you're optimizing onboarding, validating a new feature launch, or understanding what keeps users coming back, Heap by Contentsquare gives you a complete and retroactive picture of user behavior — so your team spends less time hunting for data and more time acting on it.

## Heap by Contentsquare Reviews
 ### 1. An Analytics Solution for Everyone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren P. | Senior Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

As a member of the Analytics team, Heap allows our non-technical coworkers to build analyses on their own. From creating hypothesis to proving significance, Heap allows nearly all of our users to take data into their own hands without writing queries.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap is not heavily utilized by our Data Analytics team since it does tend to have contradictory numbers with our queried data. However, the discrepancies are not significant such that an everyday user has to work about mass inflation or deflation.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cohort analyses, event and signup tracking, product deep-dives, etc.

 ### 2. Sr. Marketing Manager

I like that I can look at funnel metrics and that it is easily integrated with our site. I also like the ability to create my own events using the event visualizer.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I don't like how things are organized. I think it's tough to find my reporting. I also don't like how the new visuals look now.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems im solving is understanding where the conversion drop-of is within the sign-up flow. I can understand what page is doing the best/worst in converting members.

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap has an awesome user interface that is easy to navigate for folks across the business (e.g. engineers, marketers, etc.). The insights that Heap can draw in a short amount of time are extremely valuable. For context, I work at a hypergrowth startup that requires us to move extremely fast. Heap has enabled us to make educated decisions quickly and accomplish just that.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Lack of actionable insights and getting data from the product is difficult.

If youre looking for powerful and easy to use funnel metrics and reporting, look no further than Heap.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software provide a lot of information about the users and how they interact with various features on the website.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Agung W. | Digital Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Easy setup - most of the time you don't need dev support to create goals and all goals are tracked automatically from the start so there is a rare moment of "Oh SH*T we forgot to track this particular goal"

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Lack of integration with Google Tag Manager and sometimes creating a conversion goal need dev support.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

If you want a platform to track basically almost everything from the start, I would recommend Heap.

I enjoy how user-friendly Heap is. It can be used by non-technical people, while its straightforward functionality allows data analysts to zip through tasks.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Data isn't always accurate. Hard to understand the actual value of integrations like Appcues in-app without support from AMs.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I want to figure out how to optimize our onboarding experience (launchpads) and get better insights into user behavior. Later we will focus on conversion funnels, but we need to nail our basic onboarding first.

 ### 15. Strong analytics platform for front-end metrics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

- Quick views of key front end metrics
- Helpful funnel views for conversion events

 ### 21. Heap- real-time analytics with tons of flexibiltiy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan L. | VP & GM Consumer Sites (MyPoints, InboxDollars, CouponCause, Tada), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Unlike other platforms Heap allows you to get data and analysis for "events' that you create immediately. No waiting for the data to be collected. You get instant insight into historic trends even if you were not officially tracking the event previously.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Events definitions do not alwas comply with HTML coding best practices. If there are multiple items you want to track that are in the same element/container you need to specify for the dev team that you need those coded as separate items. Otherwise you do not have enough granularity.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insight into user behavior - particularly at the top of the funnel. Quick data when trying to make decisions about what to prioritize for users in the UX or what to consider deprecating.

Requires some learning to ramp up but otherwise easy to pick up

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 24. Heap Saves Time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I love the amazing interface and how easy it is to run queries. It is incredibly easy to start analysis on any collected metrics - basically trivial to spin something up.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I find that merging events is a little difficult. It is not intuitive to combine events that have been collected at different times. This should be a bit more accessible.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Figuring out user paths and dropoff points.

 ### 25. Great experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

easy to use and provide tons of possibilities to track/analysis consumer wesite activities, and help business grow!

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

the layout could be improved for easier navigation

Website activities, page drop off.

 ### 27. Automatic event generation is great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

- I like that I can create events dynamically pretty easy
- Dashboards and reports generation works pretty fast and its easy to create reports

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

You dont have a Flutter SDK and also there's no way to create a "validator for events" so this dynamic event
generation ends up in everybody creating a lot of things without any control

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us to grow at the beginning allowing everybody to create boards with the data pretty easy

**Official Response from Suzi Hiza:**

> We’re excited to let you know that Heap has released many new capture SDKs including a Flutter SDK to track events in Heap!

 ### 28. Powerful insights, intuitive interface

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The Heap interface makes it really easy to connect powerful, user-level insights across web properties (i.e. between our marketing website and product). The 'always-on' tracking enables us to quickly validate hypotheses, delivering historical reporting on newly thought-up tracking parameters.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The Salesforce integration over-promises and under-delivers. We had hoped to use the bi-directional integration to connect opportunities and revenue back to lead source and user journey data but found the native integration unequipped, which led us to explore 3rd party integration tooling - yet another system and expense in our analytics toolchain.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to gain deep, user-level behavioral insights into our customer journeys that directly inform our conversion optimization initiatives.

 ### 29. Great Analytic tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose Jesus Enrico F. | Desarrollador de software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I really like the Funnels and error tracking

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Events created by somebody in the team are not configurable, even if they are public, I am not able to edit them, I have to clone it, as an admin I will like to override those things

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Take actions to the customer problems

 ### 30. Good Overall

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The level of details we can go with data

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Some errors with timestamp when it comes to session and pageview

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting the details on user behavior.

 ### 31. The pure power of analytics brought to you by Heap.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerry S. | IT Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap's approach as a program of recording everything to be analyzed later. Unlike other services that require you to select what you are going to analyze and then the recording process begins. Instead, with Heap, once you install it, it starts recording all your users' interactions and retroactively analyzing the information and splitting it up.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

There is nothing I don't like about Heap, it's a fantastic program.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

It is somewhat expensive, but worth it, the amount of information and detail you can have with Heap is great and any company interested in knowing their customers and users in depth should consider this program to integrate it into their business model.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Heap understanding my users and creating strategies to guide them to conversion, retain them longer, increase engagement, and most importantly, solve problems experienced on my sites, is extremely easy. Heap analyzes all the information and its functions allow me to observe everything each user does and use it to my advantage to provide them with the best experience and ensure sales and loyalty.

 ### 32. Heap of insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap is an excellent platform for analyzing the work that we do. We are a B2B company, that works with other B2B firms, primarily, so the use case is a little atypical from some of what you might hear about in a Heap pitch deck. That said, the platform has been indispensable for our product and design teams to better understand our customers needs. We can monitor activity with a gentle touch, and thereby engage our customers thoughtfully and efficiently. We can see when we have improved our applications for better customer outcomes without having to constantly engage them in time-consuming focus groups. We also make use of Heap Connect to enrich our analyses with first party data, and we also integrate with AppCues to let our customers know that our product lifecycle is continuing to respond to their stated and implied needs.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

We are extremely happy with Heap, and continue to value their partnership. They have heard directly from us regarding potential feature enhancements, and we have confidence that they will continue to deliver on those discussions. There is nothing to add in a critique.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

Get the top-tier support if you can. Well worth it. We get excellent results.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used Heap to monitor migrations, UI improvements (both in structure, and in backend responsiveness issues), and to help direct our product efforts through appcues-generated surveys. We use it a lot of different ways, and it continues to pay off in better customer retention and overall satisfaction.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The fact that I don't have enough time to research a lot more about the inner workings of reports to learn how to use the tools more insightfully. I think I'm really using the tip of the iceberg.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

Weekly Newsletter? Digestible "hot tips" for specific use-cases? I know I need to spend more time learning about the platform but some suggestions would be super helpful and much appreciated!

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm zeroing in on users who either aren't using our platform enough or are not using specific parts of our platform. This data guides me in reaching out to those users and providing extra resources they might need to increase adoption and potentially secure contract renewals and upgrades down the line.

I also provide adoption reports based on Heap data to several of my key clients. They love these monthly or quarterly adoption insights report, made possible by Heap.

 ### 34. Brings simplicity to eComm analysis.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The best feature about Heap is that it is retrospective so you don't have to stress about setting up all events out of the box.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I really enjoy using Heap as a whole; it's packed with useful and practical features. However, there is always room for further improvements and new features - one of which I would love to see is the ability to track totals with conversion without having to do it manually downstream. For example, seeing conversion between PDP and checkout, but also in the same report, which how many views of were there for those PDP's; CR between product A and checkout was 10% and there were 1000 sessions that viewed this product in the past X days.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

If anyone is looking for a web analytics tool that provides deeper insights and more accurate results than GA, Heap is the tool to use.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heap provides access/visibility into a user's journey and web behaviour that goes beyond the transaction. This makes it possible to segment groups of users based on usage such as frequency of visits, effective campaigns and sources, thus allowing me to target these customers in a more personable approach.

 ### 35. Love the tool for data driven design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The funnel conversion tools with customizations. I use this part of Heap the most; it usually informs my design decisions by helping me learn more about how users compare to past/current experiments and view the data with specific fitlers like comparisons / "users who have done" etc.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

There is a learning curve for a tool like heap and the onboarding could be better. Additionally, I would love the capability to mass-add events or filters when analyzing a funnel conversion flow. It would be great to have a tool that allows you to select "compare users who have done XYZ to users who have not" instead of manually having to fill in the "users who have not" each time.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

I would recommend anyone who wants to use Heap to take the time to take Heap 101 and Heap 102 so they can become power users without many growing pains and use the tool for their needs.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a manager for a growth team, I primarily use heap to understand the user journies as well as high drop-off rates and user pathways. This helps me design experiments to improve conversion rates, it has helped me evaluate what features in our product are more beneficial to users and should be better highlighted.

 ### 36. Heap makes it easy for me to analyze how users are interacting with our product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

After a small learning curve, I'm able to create any reports I need to learn how people are using our products. As a non-engineer, it's still really accessible to me (even defining events, which I've been unable to do in many other analytic platforms) and I love the sense of autonomy I gain from being able to do this on my own and continue to support my team's growth based on data.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I sometimes find the resources difficult to understand, mostly because my use case does not fit the ones they list. I wish they were a little less jargony and more straightforward. I also would love more nuanced features for sending email notifications as data changes.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work mainly in documentation so I'm looking to see areas where people stop using the product (funnels are helpful for this) or to understand under-utilized features that we might be able to support more people in using.

 ### 37. Integrations and custom reporting helped us drive free trial conversions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Marketo and Intercom integrations saved our marketing teams a ton of time segmenting leads based on level of engagement.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Dashboards were challenging to navigate at first. We needed the highest level KPIs to report at the stakeholder level, and our reports were too complex for the team to understand at a glance. I wish we could have simple metric widgets based on our data.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Free trial conversion tracking was much faster to set up and analyze using Heap over our previous tech stack. The integration with Marketo and Intercom allowed us to segment and target leads based on behavior. The most significant benefit was time saved.

 ### 38. Heaps of user-friendly data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire T. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

- When you set up a new event, data for that event is immediately available
- No developer time needed to set up events
- Easy-to-use and organize dashboards

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

- Initial learning curve has deterred company-wide adoption

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying and prioritizing opportunity areas. We've identified a steep drop-off on registration rates and specific steps in our process that see larger drop-offs, and are prioritizing accordingly.

 ### 39. Great Insight into Customer Behavior

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

- Ability to have insight into how customers are using our products to drive decision-making
- Enable the troubleshooting of reported issues in a smarter way & arrive at the correct solution
Ex. When troubleshooting the engineers assume the customer behavior when implementing a fix, however, this is not always the case. Auryc helped to validate incorrect assumptions
- Flexibility to customize reports based on refined criteria
- Supports tagging to capture certain parts of the workflow
- Intuitive

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

We serve a business in which a session does not capture the end-to-end customer workflow (more end-customer driven and not user-driven) but I can foresee a future enhancement to Auryc where this need can be achieved.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to see how our customer conduct their day-to-day business utilizing our software & use this data to make decisions on future enhancements.

 ### 40. SaaS Product Visibility at Scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike A. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap's client side approach of record everything and analyze later allows us to de-couple the product analytics iteration process from the development process. It ensures we maintain quick iteration on product features and have the ability to revise and maintain selectors as the product evolves.

Funnels are a very powerful and easy way of understanding user journeys and potential bottlenecks

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Relying solely on the client-side API can result in data integrity issues due to script blockers, but this isn't a problem unique to Heap.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Understanding platform usage patterns
- Building usage profiles by customer segment
- Identifying early indicators of user churn or user upsell potential

 ### 41. Review for Heap

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The clean UX, it's easy to find everything on the platform

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I'm used to using Google Analytics so it's hard for me to understand the 1 to 1 rules and conditions that apply from Google Analytics to Heap

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just traffic analysis and ensuring we have the correct sources and mediums aligned to analyze our traffic

 ### 42. Best Analytics Product I've ever used

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap has managed to find the perfect balance between usability and expert functionality. Heap's analytics platform is equally powerful for both novice and expert users alike.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I'd love it if Heap made it easier to export images of their charts and graphs

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company did not have any product analytics solutions in place prior to Heap. We use Heap to analyze how our customers interact with our product.

 ### 43. The best choice for web analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The possibilities and flexibility of the platform, it's easy to understand and it has the best of qualitative and quantitative tools for you to have the best insights.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Initially, there seems to be a lot to see, but after an introduction, everything makes sense.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

Great for e-commerce and data analytics

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traffic Analysis
Conversion Rate Analysis
Folding Maps
Heat Maps
Reports
Voice of Customer and Videos of the Sessions

 ### 44. Heap provides us with the critical data we need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neal H. | Product Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The fact that once you add the Heap code to your website, every interaction is captured. You just need to worry about mining that data. No need to set up goals and not have the data from before the goals were setup.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Heap is extremely powerful and can be a challenge for more novice users.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

Designate someone (or a few people) to become your in-house Heap guru. Not everyone will have time and having at least one or a few people well-versed in Heap is extremely helpful.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowing with confidence what is happening on our website solves all sorts of problems and also presents opportunities.

 ### 45. Very useful tool although some gaps

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

It's nice to have events/definitions saved for repeat use. I also appreciate the visualizations and the ability to customize dashboards - it makes it easier to share data with non-data people at the company.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

There are some gaps in the functionality, like the ability to group conversion funnels over time.
Additionally, the UX can be a bit clunky - sometimes things don't save properly, and it can be hard to go back a page.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heap saves a lot of time by not having to hardcode every query. Additionally it's easier for non-data people to understand and use themselves.

 ### 46. Incident Analyst

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Im not sure due to my Internet network or Auryc but sometimes Aurc quite lag. Furthermore. There are a lot of empty time I have to wait while client do nothing. Why dont we cut it.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

Absolutely I will recommend this one for my colleagues

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can reproduce what you user did and tracking if they have any issue or mistakes, hence I can help them to move on smoothly. Beside that, Auryc also help me to invest incidents as well

 ### 47. Incredible insights to all events and funnels on your website.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven M. | Manager Web Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I can create detailed insights into any of the interactions with our site by users. If you can think it you can create a report for it in Heap.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

I wish we were able to show data points on the line graphs

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

If you want to know how each aspect of your website is performing and get incredible info on

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seeing how users interact with our funnels and where our huge drop-offs are for us to address. We are able to look at how all of our marketing channels are performing and allows us to find opportunity.

 ### 48. Easy to learn tool and insightful, not perfect

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Idelle D. | Marketing Monetization Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The logic used to set up events and definitions

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

Numbers still seem off sometimes it's a totally trusted source of truth

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding member engagement

 ### 49. Heap is an essential part of our business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

It lets non developers define events through the event visualizer, which is extremely powerful. That alone empowers the entire team to think about what data to collect and heap makes it incredibly easy to analyze it.

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

It would be nice if it could somehow get retroactive historical snapshot data for events that have been defined but have to do with the DOM. We had one time where our lead capture was broken but theoretically if they have captured the entire DOM at that moment then all those emails are not lost but somewhere in the depths of the data heap has. We could have saved all those leads by capturing the historical data in heap but since snapshots don't show historical data we lost those leads.

Also something that could be super useful is adding a ML feature. Theoretically with user data, item data, and event data, that could all be fed into a ML API that can notice which items/events combos are popular among what users. It would be great to have a way for us to see the underlying trends/correlations that are not readily apparent and hard to see. A good example of an API that does this is Amazon Personalize. If Heap could somehow do what they do with the data provided and then make it easy to start generating recommendations of items for users based on the users actions, that would make Heap the most essential software to any online business and it would separate heap from the rest of the crowd.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

I highly recommend using heap. It will help the entire team become data focused and free up the developers and the rest of the team to do less time orchestrating the data collection and more time actually thinking/reflecting on the data.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking and viewing engagement metrics, as well the main benefit in my every day use: tracking down errors, finding the source of them and then solving them.

 ### 50. Complete Product Usage Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The flexibility and reliability are extremely important in building up trust in our product usage data. Being able to track all our platforms, sites, and integrations in one place is a huge time saver and enables broad analysis across the company. Our Growth team consumes data from the S3 integration pretty much continuously and forms the starting point for all of their work in identifying funnel leaks and problems in onboarding new users. Because every event is stored back to the day we implemented Heap we can very quickly define new events to analyze feature usage as soon as it becomes strategically important. No need to look into the future and anticipate every potential event we might want to track!

**What do you dislike about Heap by Contentsquare?**

The only problem we have is the amount of training that is required for non-data team members to get into Heap. Having to setup all the graphs and analysis manually requires too much effort for some teams to migrate to Heap.

**Recommendations to others considering Heap by Contentsquare:**

If you're small enough to use the free level this should be an obvious choice. If your company can afford the investment in Heap, and in the right hands, it will pay for itself.

**What problems is Heap by Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are digging deep into our user journeys as we pivot towards a Product-Led Growth model. Being able to make Sales more efficient with better understanding of free trial usage, Customer Success with watching for churn risk customers, and helping Marketing optimize ad campaigns are all benefits we're seeing from using Heap.
