As a nurse educator, I want a product that I know will be up-to-date with most recent standards for nursing best practice. I also want a product that covers the topics I need to address with seasoned and new nurses alike without having to create my own forms and slideshows. HealthStream does that. Through specialty programs like the Nurse Residency and Preceptor Development, I have been able to take my organization's approach to education to the next level. From creating our own Checklists, running reports, managing live events, and more, the features on HealthStream have everything you could desire in a learning management system. Additionally, when I have had issues, the customer support portal feature is very helpful. Being able to track a ticket just like I do with IT in my own organization made it quite simple to integrate into my workflow. As a nurse educator I use HealthStream every day. **What do you dislike about HealthStream Learning Management System?** Searching for and previewing courses is not as friendly as I would like. I cannot see inside a module without assigning it to myself. If it is content my organization has chosen to hide in the student catalog, that makes it even more complicated as I have to assign it as an admin. And if I only need to preview it, it is not a good use of company resources to spend the time completing the full test and evaluation, so I either have to then go back and delete or exempt the assignment or leave it in an ever-lengthening To-Do list. **What problems is HealthStream Learning Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to launch a Nurse Residency Program in our facility for the first time in our history thanks to HealthStream's Nurse Residency product. I am in HealthStream all day every day! One of my duties is to handle all our compliance reporting for our entire healthcare system (we have 4 hospital locations across Northern Kentucky and Indiana, as well as multiple ambulatory centers), and the new Insights reporting feature HealthStream has been rolling out is SO helpful with that. I can now select which fields I want to pull in, organize the columns, and filter in so many ways that has made my job much easier. I get better data as well (I can pinpoint to exactly what I need instead of having to pull 2-4 canned reports and pick and choose the data I need to combine into one report). I also think that for the majority of what we do, HealthStream works very well for building automatic assignments each year (of course we all have those "one-off" situations that just can't be resolved easily, but for the most part I find HealthStream to be intuitive, and I can usually resolve most issues myself as an administrator). Overall, I find HealthStream very easy to use and always look forward to improvements and product updates, especially in the reporting realm! **What do you dislike about HealthStream Learning Management System?** There are some features which don't always work (we have a lot of issues with alerts not going to people or only alerting them for the first class of a multi-session class), and customer support can sometimes be slow or cryptic (they'll fix the issue, but won't tell me what caused the issue or how to prevent it in the future). I also am not a fan of the relationship/integration with RQI (we have had a lot of issues since transitioning to quarterly RQI and RQI support says it's on the HS side and HealthStream support say it's RQI and just a long time to get to a resolution). Also they have some classes that you can test out of if you pass the preliminary test. This is helpful for employee annual trainings for people who have done the same class many times. There are a few helpful mentors and some live trainings for administrators who are trying to learn how the system works are available, but we did not find them very helpful. There is and additional website where you can find support from other users but I find that hard to use as well. They offer the ability to create your own content if that is something you want to do. As an admin, you can't preview classes by clicking through, you have to sit through the whole module in real time.
