We have been using their Dispatcher software every day for 4 or 5 years now to manage and track a fleet of over 60 trucks and 300 pieces of equipment. Implementation of the program was very straightforward and simple, especially with their support team. Of all the software vendors we use, HCSS support has been among the best with prompt response and quick answers to our questions. The software has been easy to use and has features and functionality that we have yet to take advantage of. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** Our only complaint about HCSS is an aesthetic one. The interface has a look and feel that seems a bit dated. It is nothing that affects the performance, just looks like it needs a graphics refresh. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** The Dispatcher helps us keep track of over 300 pieces of equipment and 100 employees across 30 jobsites on a daily basis. As a heavy civil construction company, there is frequent change between jobsites with regard to equipment and tools. Dispatcher makes tracking this information very easy for our scheduling manager. ### 9. Customer service is excellent. In the past year, we have started using HeavyJob as well. There is a lot of functionality, so it takes a lot of trial-and-error to set it up the way you want. We've been using it for nearly a year and I feel like we're about 98% there. The integration with our ERP is pretty tight, but is what's taking us so long. We may use Vista differently than most, because the canned integration had to be tweaked quite a few times. The products themselves are very user-friendly. Several employees use both products daily. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** The only cons I can think of are the price (along with annual 5% increases), and the fact that they prioritize development of their iOS app above the Android version. As a Samsung shop, we cannot use Production Planner unless we replace our entire fleet of tablets. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our more recent HeavyJob integration was meant to improve our tracking of labor and equipment on a job and phase level. It allows more transparency for the Foreman and Superintendant to see how their job is doing in real time. ### 10. One of the biggest values is how all of their programs seamlessly integrate together. Not only do they integrate well with one another, but we have also had great success in integrating them with other programs we use like our ERP and HRMIS systems. This allows for sharing of data and information like never before. Another value is the ease of use in using the various programs, from our field team to upper management, everyone is able to get value from the HCSS programs. I can't say what I like about HCSS without mentioning their great customer support. With most other software providers, I dread calling support for fear of getting stuck on the phone for hours trying to resolve an issue, with HCSS I know anytime I call I will quickly be connected with a support technician that will have my issue resolved quickly. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** Over the 10+ years of using all of the HCSS programs, it at times is obviously apparent that not all of their programs get as much attention as the others when it comes to upgrades and improvements. I dislike how little improvements have been made with HCSS DIspatcher, it still feels like a program from the early 00's. I also wish they invested more in their telematics offerings and looked at companies like Tenna and the various GPS devices they offer for the wide range of equipment used on construction sites. For example, a solution to use on devices without power, one that can be used on equipment attachments, etc. Tenna has done a great job at finding solutions to serve the various needs of the construction industry and I feel HCSS has fallen behind. If we were not so invested in HCSS and HCSS Telematics already, Tenna would have gotten our business. I hate feeling "stuck" with HCSS Telematics and wish they were as innovative with new solutions like Tenna. The last thing I want to mention is the lack of updates made to HCSS Academy and training. Many new updates come out and the training is not available or updated to match these changes. **What problems is HCSS solving and how is that benefiting you?** HCSS allows us to track our production in real time with HeavyJob. We also like the digital plan management offered by HCSS Plans. ### 11. I have occasional finish a daily inspection report, siigned it and emailed with distribution list and later found out its was not reported becuase photos the photo memories were too large. I then had to recreate the file and attached photos with lower file memories. I now reformat my photos with lower resolution and file memory. The system in Ontario and the way the markup is calculated on our extra work orders is scaled which makes integrating it with the system difficult and, so far, it has not saved us any time and/or made this part of our projects any easier. Time keeping works great and exports into other systems. Mobile app works well and syncs with Sage well. **What do you dislike about HCSS?** The pricing structure gets expensive really fast as you add more users. Each field user that you to be able to access the system needs their own license and the product is sold in a way that each user has to be licensed. Large projects have alot of users. **Recommendations to others considering HCSS:** I would say HCSS HeavyJob is one of the industry leaders in this field.
