Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) 7/19/2023 "\*\*UPDATED\*\* ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, Terrible Launch, and Terrible Support" 0/5 What do you like best about Hawksearch? Akanksha and the development team were helpful and thorough during onboarding. Even still, we were met with a lot of problems and quickly found out the service was unreliable. Furrthermore, the reporting and analytics is not very good. The reports do not provide much info. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hawksearch? We were initially told integration was super easy with Handlebars, then came to find we were the first users of Handlebars on BigCommerce. Lots of errors in the beginning that burned up our available hours and time. We were the ones troubleshooting and finding solutions to their product. Even though we were doing the work, it resulted in us having to purchase more hours and they would not take ownership of any problems resulting from the Handlebars integration. Not long after going live we were experiencing outages of at least 15mins regularly and multiple times a day of at least 5 mins a time where search results and category/navigation would return no products at all. After multiple phone calls to troubleshoot, Hawksearch could not figure out what was going on and said they would move us to our own "server" so that we were not conflicting with other Hawksearch customers. They also requested we reduce the number of facets returned on the site to 15 and not sync our descriptions. Even after doing so, we continued to have problems. We only have 55k SKUs and not that many facets, but we still had to limit our scope. More calls and emails later we had found out that one of their biggest customers had increased their demand of the servers by syncing every second, causing all of the available resources to be used up by them leaving us with little to no working product. We are a new customer and had just gone live. 2+ months of issues and we find out that all of the available resources were being taken by another customer all the while they were asking us to limit ourselves. The initial SLA test returned an SLA of 99.54%, which is under the contracted rate of 99.9%. They did not offer any monetary compensation and put us through the regular "we're sorry" act. Finally they agreed to compensate us(~$50; still unknown) for going under SLA but we have not received anything yet. Furthermore, they are making us finish out our contract even though it is unusable. They don't care about new customers unless you are a fortune 500. Hawksearch is very powerful. The ability to pin items based on keywords and a wide, set of the functionality such as autocomplete and synonymous words is extremely helpful, especially in our industry where there are lots of acronyms used by our customers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hawksearch? Some features may be confusing for first-time users but their documentation and training were very thorough and made using the system a very pleasant experience. Our previous search software had minimal features where customers had to type the exact phrase or keyword in to display results. With Hawksearch, we have been able to set up synonyms based on our customers' search habits. With Hawksearch, you have the ability to create synonyms, autocompletes, boost, and bury rules based on keywords used. As customers use the search, it gets smarter and delivers results based on previous searches. It also offers the ability to create marketing banners that are displayed based on the keywords the customer is searching to deliver quality results. The search technology and learning capabilities of Hawksearch is really well-designed. Recommendation engine is good as well. The administration portal is easy to use for non-technical people with a little training. The training and on-boarding process for Hawksearch is very attentive. Technical support is good as well.
