HAProxy One is an application delivery and security platform that combines the HAProxy core with enterprise-grade security layers, management and orchestration, cloud-native integration, and more. Platform components: HAProxy Enterprise: a flexible data plane layer for TCP, UDP, QUIC, and HTTP-based applications that provides high-performance load balancing, high availability, an API/AI gateway, container networking, SSL processing, DDoS protection, bot detection and mitigation, global rate limiting, and a web application firewall (WAF). HAProxy Fusion: a scalable control plane that provides full-lifecycle management, observability, and automation of multi-cluster, multi-cloud, and multi-team HAProxy Enterprise deployments, with infrastructure integration for AWS, Kubernetes, Consul, and Prometheus. HAProxy Edge: a globally distributed application delivery network that provides fully managed application delivery and security services, a secure partition between external traffic and origin networks, and threat intelligence enhanced by machine learning that powers the security layers in HAProxy Fusion and HAProxy Enterprise. ### 8. Powerful, Consistent, and User-Centric Solutions with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about HAProxy?**

HAProxy solutions are incredibly powerful tools. All have been build in a consistent way in order to achieve their purpose as efficiently as possible: provide visibility (logs), redundancy (loadbalancing), security (reverse-proxy).
The company mindset itself is incredibly user-centric, with an amazing support : whether I am facing an issue, raise a security concern or have an improvement suggestion, I always feel confident my voice will be heard, and in a very efficient way. This probably comes from the open-source mindset of the team!

**What do you dislike about HAProxy?**

"Disliking" is a harsh word to describe the feeling I have here. Although I think this traces back to the DNA of the team, being rooted in open-source often underlines you get to have a lot of autonomy in understanding and configuring your solution : so I agree with other people here, it can be harsh at times to "get into" the configuration of the solution.
However, this difficulty is appeased by all the support the HAProxy team is able and willing to provide : it can be difficult at times, but I never feel lonely behind my laptop when I need to work on my infrastructure.

**What problems is HAProxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HAProxy helps us adding more granularity in the way we expose our applications.
It has also given us a very efficient way to log the flows.
And also, with HAProxy we've been able provide a very strict frame to handle our server outgoing flows.

**Official Response from Nick Ramirez:**

> The learning curve of the configuration syntax is the most challenging aspect for users, and we're working to improve this. Thank you for the feedback!

  ### 9. Easy to Use with a Smooth Migration Experience

**What do you like best about HAProxy?**

HAProxy is extremely fast and efficient, even under heavy traffic. It provides advanced load balancing algorithms and fine-grained control.

**What do you dislike about HAProxy?**

The configuration syntax can be difficult to understand for beginners. Debugging issues is not always straightforward, especially in complex setups.

**What problems is HAProxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HAProxy is solving our need for reliable traffic distribution and high availability across our services. It acts as a central entry point, balancing incoming requests efficiently and ensuring that no single backend becomes a bottleneck.

**Official Response from Nick Ramirez:**

> What could we do to improve the debugging experience?

  ### 22. Reliable Performance with Challenging Configuration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about HAProxy?**

It’s been around forever, so its behavior is predictable, and it does its fundamental job of shuffling traffic without requiring constant intervention. Its low resource usage is its main saving grace, as it means we can mostly just set it up and forget it's there.

**What do you dislike about HAProxy?**

The configuration is notoriously dense and unforgiving; a single misplaced character can lead to hours of sifting through cryptic logs to debug a routing issue.

**What problems is HAProxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HAProxy is essentially a band-aid for fundamental architectural problems. It solves the immediate issue of our servers being unable to handle direct traffic, so it sits in front, distributing the load. This is less a "benefit" and more a "necessity" to prevent constant outages.

**Official Response from Nick Ramirez:**

> Not long ago, HAProxy's error messages related to configuration errors became more descriptive. Have you tried a recent version?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about HAProxy?**

HAProxy's exceptional performance and dependability are what I appreciate most about it. It is perfect for both small-scale and enterprise settings because it can handle large volumes of traffic with little latency. I also value HAProxy's adaptability and flexibility, which allows you to have fine-grained control over traffic management through SSL termination, load balancing algorithms, and health checks. Its extensive documentation and strong community support also make troubleshooting and optimization simple, which is very beneficial for IT teams.

**What do you dislike about HAProxy?**

To be honest, there isn't much about HAProxy that you dislike. Its features cover almost all common and sophisticated load balancing requirements, and it is dependable, stable, and high-performing. It meets all of the expectations of the majority of IT teams with negligible downsides.

**What problems is HAProxy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HAProxy solves the critical problem of efficiently distributing network traffic across multiple servers. By providing reliable load balancing, it ensures applications remain highly available, responsive, and scalable, even under heavy traffic conditions. For our team, this means minimal downtime, faster application performance, and the ability to seamlessly scale services as demand grows. Additionally, features like health checks and SSL termination simplify infrastructure management, reduce operational overhead, and enhance overall system security. In short, HAProxy enables us to deliver a smoother, more reliable experience for both users and IT operations.

**Official Response from Nick Ramirez:**

> Thank you for reviewing HAProxy! It's good to know that it has worked well for you!

This ability to customize is particularly valuable as it enables adaptations that align closely with the specific needs of my setup. This customization capacity makes HAProxy a versatile and powerful tool in my work context.
