I like how the speaker labeling in HappyScribe handles our interviews, correctly separating hosts from guests most of the time, which makes my job easier as I mostly just confirm rather than assign speakers from scratch. The ability to export in multiple formats is more valuable than I anticipated, because our website and video clips all need different formats, and being able to export from one transcript saves a step in the process. The editor is also very responsive, which is great as scrubbing through long episodes to fix any mistakes doesn't feel cumbersome, and the audio stays locked to the text position, so I always know where I am. Cross-talk clips don't handle well consistently, and for broadcasts, we have a lot of that. So any stretch where the host and guest talk over each other comes back garbled enough that I rewrite it from scratch. The per-minute pricing of ninety-minute weekly episodes adds up more than I like, and I've occasionally considered if shorter episodes would be cheaper to produce, which isn't great for a pricey model to make me think about. The AI does the transcription well but stops there. I would pay for something that could suggest chapter markers or pull out noteworthy moments automatically, but that's still entirely on my judgment or the editor's judgment. Thank you, this is a really thoughtful review. Speaker labeling getting hosts and guests right so you're confirming rather than assigning, multi-format export from one transcript, and the editor keeping audio locked to the text are exactly what we want to nail for podcast work. Glad it's turning a full day into minutes.
On cross-talk: you're right, overlapping speech is one of the hardest things to get clean, and it's part of the speaker identification work we're on right now.
On pulling out noteworthy moments: you can already do this. Ask the Chat feature for the key moments from an episode and it'll surface them with where they sit in the transcript.
On pricing: At ninety minutes a week you're around 360 to 400 minutes a month, and our monthly plans include a pool of minutes that covers that for less than per-minute rates, so the shorter-episode trade-off isn't one you should have to weigh.
Really glad we're making your episodes accessible and search-visible so fast.
