"Convert media files of all sorts with ease"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

The fact that Handbrake does what most premium programs are not able to do in terms of media variety, speed of conversion, and ease of use is just stunning. This is one of the best in class! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

Honestly, I've never come across something in the flow of the UI that I would want to change. The templates for converting work incredibly well and the speed of conversion is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Swiss-knife of video format conversion; free and open-source"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

The software is free to download. It runs without any issues whatsoever, which is something I can't say to most other open-source, free-to-download software out there. It literally takes any type of video thrown at it and converts them to your desired file format. Plenty of advanced options if I want to finetune certain settings before letting Handbrake does its magic. Video conversion time takes anywhere between 5-20 minutes in my case as my requirements tend to be more simple. Expect a longer running time when you are working with bigger files. In short, as my title says, Handbrake is like a Swiss knife of video conversion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

Not a lot to dislike, honestly. The software interface can be modernized a little bit as there are plenty of unused spaces. Some option buttons are quite small hence they are easy to miss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing & Very Fast Video Convertor and Compressor Software Without Compromising Video Quality"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Handbrake is one of the best ever free video converter software. What I like most about Handbrake is:

- It is supporting multiple operating systems so I can work from any operating system.

- I can convert any format video into multiple file-formats at a time by uploading all videos.

- I can also apply video filters like Decomb, Denoise, and Grayscale, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

Some features that disappointed me and I don't like much are:

- It is crashes sometimes when uploading and converting more than 10 videos.

- Their user interface is not attractive and a little bit confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Free Video Compressing and Converting Software"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

HandBrake is one of the great video transcoder software which helps to reduce video size without losing quality by adjusting bit rate, frame rates, or maximum file size. It is good for YouTubers to modify video size and frame rates. I am using HandBrake for reducing video size for my YouTube channel. It is completely free to use and that is a major benefit to all users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

Actually, there are no downsides for HandBrake because It is a completely free-to-use and open-source tool for reducing and modifying video size. The one thing that should improve in HandBrake is its UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Incredible, powerful file converter!"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

This software has never failed me. I have had video files that won't open, but Handbrake was able to convert the files and make them playable! The software UI is very clean and organized and easy to jump right into. There are many settings that I am not sure I will ever have use for, but if you are heavily into video editing and conversion, this may be the perfect software for you. There are numerous presets built into the software, as well as presets that can be saved to your customization. Some of the presets include full HD, 720p, 576p, and 480p. These are further broken down into "very fast", "fast", "HQ" and "Super HQ". I have used almost all of these settings, and the conversion speed for any of those files was always fairly fast. Obviously, it will take longer to convert something at the highest quality, but still relatively fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

I can't say I dislike anything about the software. It has taken "broken" files and fixed them for me...I couldn't ask for anything more! Some of the settings are beyond what I need, but I can't say that is a dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best software to compress size of video and converting video from nearly any format."
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Its interface is too good. it is too easy to use. It reduces the size of videos and maintains the quality. the size of the software is also not too much. We can convert videos into any modern format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

There is nothing which I can say I dislike about this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mother of all free video converters"
4/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Handbrake has a simple interface and does one thing great, it converts video from one format to another and can save you lots of time trying to figure out other software solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

The batching system is a little cumbersome when you're trying to convert many videos at once. Having to select conversion settings for each one individually instead of highlighting and applying the same setting to all of them can be very time consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No-brainer solution for compressing videos and helpful presets for any social media"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

I don't want to go deep in understanding multiple video file formats. That's why I like Handbrake; it lets you choose from a list and click convert, that's it, fast and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

I would like to know the approximate size of the resulting file; I can't find this information until the conversion process finishes. Also, it would be nice to have it available for Windows users; there's no such simple solution there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Super handy tool for video converting"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

HandBrake is a simple and intuitive tool, but at the same time, it offers exciting possibilities for converting video into different formats.

The main attraction of this software is that it is a friendly tool for the primary user, without the need for prior knowledge about video codecs and advanced options.

Just select the media file, choose a profile, and hit convert. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

I have nothing to complain about.

As proposed, HandBrake handles the work with great competence, ease, and agility.

Until today I never had problems like crashes or random errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Getting Footage for Lectures is So Much Easier"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

I joined a group recently, and we're looking to start doing lectures of the filmmaking process of various directors and genres. This means we need exact clips, so grabbing them off YouTube isn't an option. But Handbrake lets us rip just the clip we need off of DVDs. We can even export in just the format and resolution best to lay over the lecture.

You can also use it to convert clips and videos you already have to other resolutions, add multiple optional audio tracks, attach or embed subtitle tracks, and more! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

But we're having problems finding exactly what DVDs work and which ones do not. Handbrake can't break DRM, so even if we weren't using these clips under fair use, we can't get the disc to work with Handbrake. We found a workaround, but it involves using a different piece of software and some complicated steps. But 8 times out of 10, it works great.

This doesn't affect you using this software with media that isn't on DVDs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
