"The best DVD ripping software"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Handbrake is excellent at ripping DVDs! It does a great scan of all of the video content on a DVD and allows you to select which video elements you want to copy to your computer. It also allows you to batch multiple video elements from a DVD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

The interface can be a bit overwhelming at times with options and selections. There are so many settings and files formats that might make it hard for some users to know what to pick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect to convert videos to .mp4 file extension"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

I use Handbrake since 10 years ago. It really is a good software, otherwise I wouldn' be using it for so long!

I need to convert videos to .mp4 file extension many times and the compression is really great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

It could be more user-friendly. I don't have knowledge of all the settings and I only use the ones that I understand. I think most of the beginners have difficulties to work with this software and need a few days to get it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Only Software I use to Convert My Videos Before Uploading To YouTube"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

HandBrake is one of the best software I found on the Internet. It is a powerful tool for converting and resizing video. I can easily convert the video into multiple formats. I have to select the device for which I have to convert the video. One of the most used cases of handbrake in my job task is to compress the video without losing the quality, and it performs very well. It's a free tool but does much better than paid ones. I can easily convert and resize large videos and upload them on YouTube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

Everything works great, and its performance is fantastic, but its UI is old-fashioned. It can be modernized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free and open-source video/audio converter"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Ability to add multiple video files in the queue and start all at once, Handbrake has multiple popular preset options and the option to add own preset by the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

There are still many options available for users like crop videos, flip, add borders, filters, multiple audio codecs, and frame rates, due to the complex UI, users will miss out on these features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wonderful Digital Video Transcoding Software"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

What I like best about HandBrake is the fact that it takes a task which at first seems very challenging to implement and executes it in a very simple, efficient, and straightforward manner. What I also very much like about this software is that it prevents valuable information stored on older versions of data compaction, (such as DVDs), to be lost. This prevents necessary information from past generations of colleagues, (and even family and friends), from becoming lost since the information in question can be transferred from a physical disc to a cloud platform of anyone's choosing, where it will be stored for eternity without the possibility of obtaining any damage and/or loss of data. Lastly, what I like about HandBrake is that it is an open-source software, meaning that it is free of charge, and everyone is welcome to use it, assuming the proper system requirements are met. I also enjoy the fact that numerous video tutorials are available across the Internet, allowing current and future users access to knowledge that will allow them to make the most use of their HandBrake experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

There is honestly not much that I do not like about HandBrake due to its functionality, ease of use, and need for a small amount of storage space on the device it is working on. The fact that it is an open-source software and is, therefore, free of charge, does not hurt, as well. If I had to choose one downside, though, it would probably be the lack of compatibility with older devices running on older operating systems. Should this one aspect be accounted for, there would be nothing preventing me from claiming that this is a perfect software for its purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Handbrake is one of the best when it comes to converting video."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Handbrake converts the videos very fast, and the best thing about it is that it compresses them in really low sizes without much loss in quality. The number of codecs available is beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

There is nothing much I don't like about handbrake, but one thing is there, I don't know if it is a glitch or something, but sometimes it automatically crops the video, and sometimes the .mp4 version saves as .m4v. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best video converter out there."
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

I always use Handbrake to convert or resize my videos. The best thing about Handbrake is how optimized the results always turned out to be, small in size while still retaining very high-quality video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

The UI could use some work. While it is straightforward enough if we are looking to just convert a video, it is less intuitive when it comes to their additional features like cropping video and trimming the clips. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Feature-Rich Open Source Video Transcoder"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

I simply love the fact that Handbrake can be used by anyone from an amateur like myself in the field of video editing to professionals. If you are a beginner, you can simply select the target device and the software chooses all parameters for transcoding. On the other hand, professionals can also use it by choosing the individual parameters themselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

I did not like the fact that the user interface, although functional, is not following the native user interface of the operating system on which it is running currently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"save me when everything fails"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

Handbrake is not my main tool for converting videos, but it is an essential feature that I never miss on my workstation.

For some reason, some formats are not supported by Media Encoder, and when that happens, HandBrake is always able to handle these files.

With its simple interface, I simply drag the files there, choose between one of the several ready-made profiles, and the conversion is done without any problems quickly.

Undoubtedly, it is a fantastic and essential software for everyone who works with video, mainly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

Despite not being the initial proposal of the software, I would like to have the option to go deeper into the conversion options.

I would like to be able to choose the conversion algorithm and bitrate, either fixed or variable, for greater flexibility in the final file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"HandBrake: A Must Have Video Compressor"
5/5
What do you like best about Handbrake?

The below features I like very much in HandBrake are:

1. I can convert any video to any device format.

2. It supports too many formats.

3. I can compress any large video into smaller sizes without losing any quality.

4. I can do a batch scan and queuing of encodes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Handbrake?

The below features I like least in HandBrake are:

1. Software interface is old and outdated.

2. While exporting larger video it was taking a long time to finish exporting.

3. Sometimes showing random errors while changing export settings of the video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
