## About Handbid
Handbid is a premium silent auction software and mobile bidding platform with concierge-level service — auction and event technology for organizations that can't afford to have their most important moments go wrong. One online auction platform serves three worlds: nonprofit fundraising and charity auctions (from black-tie gala fundraisers to grassroots campaigns), enterprise and luxury brands (fully white-label auction software), and commercial auction operators (liquidation, surplus, consignment, and specialty auctions at scale). Handbid powers mobile bidding, event ticketing and registration, guest check-in, text-to-give, and payment processing across in-person, online, and hybrid events — including live auctions, silent auctions, and sealed-bid auctions. White-label branding puts your URLs, emails, and interface front and center. Invite-only access controls gate who registers and bids. Real-time bidding data, fundraising reporting, and payouts keep decisions moving during the event, not after it. What sets Handbid apart from other auction software is delivery: concierge onboarding means our team configures your auction items, access rules, and payment flows — you host, we handle the software. APIs and integrations with Stripe, CRMs, and check-in tools fit your existing workflow, with compliance and security built in. Trusted by nonprofits, schools, universities, professional sports foundations, healthcare organizations, and enterprise auction houses, Handbid has powered thousands of fundraising events and auctions — from intimate board dinners to 3,000-guest galas.

## Handbid Reviews
 ### 1. Good technology, great customer support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The accessability to Elise, Inga, and the service team throughout our planning process is always appreciated. Paying to have Elise on-site this year was totally worth the money. We were so grateful to have someone on site to help problem solve, process payments, assist with check out, and train volunteers. The client was thrilled with how much better registration and check out was, and how quickly we were able to close and settle the auction as a result.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

I find handbid easy to use after 3 years of using the application, but I do find the technology to be a bit glitchy and limited. IDK why you can hit enter to search in the guest list but not the bidder or item list. Using Enter to activate the search is pretty standard in technology, and its already set up that way on the other list, so this seems easy enough to fix. I also don't understand why the auction pages and import template require different info for the exact same thing: display name and display name for sheet; description and description for sheet; donor name and donor name for sheet. Why would this ever need to be different? It just creates more work for us. When you drag and drop categories after importing the item list, can you drag multiple into the same row so one description ticks both boxes? I know in past years I found emailng the guest list to be frustrating because of limitations and formatting issues caused by bullets, &, and other symbols.

I would be nice to have a few display sheet formats to choose from (I do like the new version better than last year!)

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing the auction items and payment for winning bids is a huge help. Other clients have tried companies who prove to be little help.

**Official Response from Shania Hallock:**

> Thank you for this detailed and helpful review! We're so glad having Elise on-site made registration and checkout smoother for your client. Your specific feedback — the Enter-to-search inconsistency, the duplicate display/sheet fields on imports, and display sheet formats — is exactly the kind of input that shapes our roadmap, and we're happy to share that we've made improvements to the system based on several of these items. Reach out to us at service@handbid.com and our team would be glad to walk you through what's changed. We appreciate three years of partnership and look forward to many more!

 ### 2. Smooth First Time Golf Tournament Fundraiser

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I like having everyones information for the event and their ability to bid online from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Guests dont know how to use handbid for bidding. It actually takes awhile to input auction items and alot of the check in process is confusing. The only way our event was successful was because we had a handbid rep there to make sure eveything went smoothly.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing us to sell tickets for our fundraisers and people to bid on silent auction items from whereever they are.

**Official Response from Elise Neugebauer:**

> Thank you for your review. We are happy that Handbid is allowing your donors to bid from remote locations. This always helps your revenue! We are happy to hear that your on-site expert was helpful. Please reach out to us at service@handbid.com if you would like to discuss better ways to add items and run a successful checkout. We have a few tips and tricks up our sleeves!

 ### 3. Programs and Finance Supervisor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Auction features - love the display of items and it's very user friendly

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Registration process - not intuitive for beginners - confused staff and volunteers

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Display of auction items look appealing to users, so we believe it helps us raise more funds.

**Official Response from Elise Neugebauer:**

> Thank you for the review. I am happy that the software is user friendly and that our display sheets are appealing. That's great! If you ever need some extra training on check-in, please let us know. We have a lot of great resources and would be happy to work with you directly as well.

 ### 4. Great Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I like how easy it is to organize the items. The site is fairly easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

As a user, sometimes it is hard to login to events. It appears to be a problem with the app.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is no problem.

**Official Response from Elise Neugebauer:**

> Thank you for your review. I am happy to hear that it is easy to organize items and that the site is fairly easy to navigate. If you have specific issues with logging into the app, please let us know at service@handbid.com. We would be happy to investigate this for you. We hope to continue working with you on all of your fundraising needs!

 ### 5. 1st Time User of Handbid

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Our silent and live auction was a great success due to the use of Handbid's mobile app. We had 73 items and the idea of using paper bid sheets would have been unrealistic for our event. We had people in our group unable to attend who were thrilled to compete for favorite items.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

We purchased a package that provided some training but we could have used a bit more instruction. Since we implimented less than two weeks prior to our event, we had to be quick in learning. Our registration process was difficult and lengthy with six staff helping with their laptops for 420 guests and it still took too long. We needed more time to get everyone registered in Handbid for the evening.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a lot of items in our auction along with two live auction items and a fund a need portion. Once everyone was in Handbid, the process was smoother.

**Official Response from Stefanie Mason:**

> We're thrilled to hear that your silent and live auction was a great success with the use of Handbid's software, especially given the tight two-week timeline. Something to consider for the future is selling your event tickets in Handbid which will pre-register your guests and will prevent the need to collect guest information, e.g. phone numbers, email, etc, at registration. This will help speed up check-in and expedite your guest's experience. The tickets feature is included with your Handbid subscription. We're happy to walk through this with you for your next event.

 ### 6. Great Platform and User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy G. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The software is very user friendly! Someone without a lot of background knowledge in technology can use it. I also love the customer service. Always treated like the most important customer. Having the ability to have someone on site for the first event provided me comfort because change is never easy. Since I'm a one man operation, that support staff helps me tremendously.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

They've fixed some of the issues with limited items this year, so not a lot of dislike. They are always looking to improve and like suggestions. If something goes wrong, it is fixed immediately.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

It's amazing. The Handbid guide helps answer any questions you have about the product, and even if you can't find it on there, the response team is quick and answers any questions quickly. They also offer on site support for your event which I highly recommend for at least your first year.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting our auction to the world has been very beneficial. Prior to Handbid, we averages around 30k at our fundraiser. Now, we are averaging over 100k! People at the event like it a lot better than having to always leave the entertainment to check on the items as well!

**Official Response from Elise Druckenmiller:**

> Thank you so much for the feedback, Timothy! We look forward to partnering with you for your next fundraising event!

 ### 7. User friendly. Helpful customer service.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Handbid is very user friendly, both for bidders and admin users.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

No complaints in the last two years i've used it.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficency. We use Handbid for our biggest fundraising event each year with over 300 guests. Handbid makes it easy for us to get items organized and bills paid for bidders when they leave the event.

**Official Response from Elise Neugebauer:**

> Thank you for the great review. We look forward to partnering with you event more in the future! We love that we can be there for you and your 300+ guests!

 ### 8. Spendy but easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Handbid is easy to use as an admin - From set up to checkout, the process is smooth and very intuative.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

It is a bit pricey when you add everything up, but worth it for the most part.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A

**Official Response from Shania Hallock:**

> Thank you for the review! We're glad setup through checkout felt smooth and intuitive. We know budget matters, especially in education — we offer plans at different levels to fit different event needs, so if you'd like to make sure you're on the right one, reach out to service@handbid.com. We'd love to power your next event!

 ### 9. Handbid is a great local event software product, great customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The people. Handbid is a great company to work with. From the very top, to the sales staff, to the auction experts, to the actual staff that comes out to help at the event.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

There are some seemingly easy updates that need to be made to make it more user friendly for our specific events / ticketing and registration, specifically.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event check-in, tied to ticketing software.

**Official Response from Stefanie Mason:**

> Thank you so much for your feedback. We've recently made updates to ticketing and registration. We would love to hear more about what your specific needs are as we continue to improve our platform. Please contact our customer service team.

 ### 10. Great tool for non profit auctions

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The ticket sales feature simplified a previously manual process.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Adding photos to items can be a little time consuming

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to have supporters donate and bid on items from anywhere has upped our event revenues:

**Official Response from Elise Druckenmiller:**

> Glad to hear Handbid has helped you simplify your processes and expand your reach!

 ### 11. easy user experience - some glitches still

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Easy to figure out and set up. Can keep it simple or intricate if wanted.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

still had some bugs and issues that wouldn't work on my end up customer serivce could do. they were super helpfull but would be nice not t have to ask sometimes.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

makes checkout process much simpler - allows us better recordkeeping and the hope is to increase bid amounts.

**Official Response from Lori Makkai:**

> We're glad to hear that you found Handbid easy to use and set up. We apologize for any glitches you experienced and appreciate your feedback. Our customer service team is always here to help, and we are continuously working to improve our platform to provide a smoother experience for our users.

 ### 12. New platform is not user nor administrator friendly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

We like the quick Auction checkout that traditional auctions do not have.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The new platform is a little more challenging for both bidders and the administrator.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick auction checkouts, display sheets and phone usable. The more user friendly these are the better for our staff and volunteers to use this program and make for a great event!

**Official Response from Stefanie Mason:**

> Hello. Thank you so much for your feedback. We would love to hop on a call to better understand your experience since our recent platform update. Please contact our service team to schedule a call.

 ### 13. Handbid - Easy Tool for Silent Auctions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Easy to setup your silent auction
Easy to use preview mode which allows you to market items in your silent auction before the auction starts

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The Handbid sheets when printed do not allow for terms and conditions, expiration, etc. to be printed as expected. Also font of the text is not adjustable

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silent auction fundraising

**Official Response from Shania Hallock:**

> Thank you for the review! We're glad preview mode helped you market your items before bidding opened. We appreciate the feedback on printed display sheets — we've made updates to our display sheet formats, and we'd be happy to show you what's available now. Reach out to us at service@handbid.com anytime.

 ### 14. HandBid review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

It seems easy to use for attendees and administrators.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

I wish I could select all the little details for all auction items and tickets in bulk and not have to enter it on each item.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps us with tax receipts and ticketing.

**Official Response from Stefanie Mason:**

> Thank you so much for the feedback. We do offer bulk import and edit functionality. We would love to hear a little bit more about what you are trying to accomplish with the auction and ticket details so that we can assist you. Please contact our service team.

 ### 15. thoughts on handbid

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

it has been very helpful to reach a wider audience for bidding and ease in ticket sales.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

wish the chat function were open longer- often working on it and it is closed answers. Password function could be easier. the magic link irritates people.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

responsive when emailing with questions.

 ### 16. GHS Third year was more challenging

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elaine M. | Volunteer auction co-chair/HandBid Queen, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

We like the reporting and the item templates

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Google address lookup was an intensely frustrating and on-going problem for our potential ticket purchasers and registered bidders. We have no idea how many people didn't continue to pursue browsing/ticket purchases because it was so difficult. It was very hard on the staff to try to troubleshoot, make purchases from the back end and not introduce errors when purchasing tickets for others. Exhausting and time consuming and potential loss of income.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

Aside from the Google Address lookup and a Caribbean cell provider blocking password reset requests, new users probably found it easier to register than those who had accounts they tried to reactivate from the two prior years. We also had people register without buying tickets but show up to the event thinking they had purchased tickets.
We also had some phones at the event get stuck in a category and couldn't get back to the rest of the categories without closing the app and going back in. Prevented some bid placement and standup scholarship bids. Not convenient for some of our elderly, low tech benefactors.
Our hybrid livestream event with Virtual Asststant was great last year, but This year was far more glitchy than the last two years.
If the school stays with Handbid next year, we will probably not do the live stream. Last minute equipment change led to very poor and slow transmission quality. No bids generated through livestream participation.
Want to continue with Handbid but the next administration will probably streamline. Reporting is great. Support was helpful but couldn't solve all of our challenges.
Great program if all going smoothly!

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handbid is planning to have the next update include an option to disable the Google address lookup based on our issues with many non-standard addresses. Note that our benefactors have addresses from all over the country that were affected. This was not limited to St John, USVI addresses. Fix us too late to help us this year.

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> Thank you for your review, Elaine. We are glad to hear that you enjoy our reporting and item templates. Touche on the Google address lookup issues. Our goal was to improve the quality of addresses captured from registered users. However, we quickly realized (too late in your case) that Google does not have the best coverage for addresses in the US Virgin Islands. We have since corrected this process so that users can either opt to use Google address lookup or enter their address manually. Now that this solution is in place, we are confident your users will not have issues adding their addresses in the future. Also, as you mention, Hybrid events can be tricky if you do not have adequate internet where you are generating your livestream. We appreciate your business over the years and our team is committed to making your next event even better!

 ### 17. Nothing to write home about

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Genna R. | Development Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Handbid was very userfriendly. We loved the push notification that it used. We also had customer service phone support which was very nice!

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

It was a little too expensive for us. We are a small non-profit and don't have almost $800 for one event.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handbid was able to give us a mobile bidding platform for our auction!

**Official Response from Kristen Wheeler:**

> Thanks for taking the time to leave us this review, Genna. We wish you all the success for your future events and hope for the chance to continue to earn your business!

 ### 18. Smooth but Slightly Complicated

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Delainey T. | Athletic Advancement Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I love the live chat feature! It was so nice to be able to interact with real people that know the software in and out. They were always happy to help with any questions I had, no matter how dumb I thought the questions may be!

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The app seems outdated and hard to navigate. Our donors did not like to switch from our last service, and we had quite a bit of issues keeping bidders logged into their bidding account

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

Interact with the customer service when you have trouble and join the live auction talks!

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to involve people from all over the country to help raise funds. Especially with the pandemic, it's great to be able to connect to those that cannot join in person.

 ### 19. Great price point, easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea M. | Special Events Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The price point for the software is terrific. I've also received fantastic customer support from account managers.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

This relatively simple platform is best used for silent auctions and selling event tickets. The virtual event functionality is fairly limited, but we received tremendous support from our account manager and made it work. Our on-site support has varied greatly depending on who they send. We now request our favorite staffer for all of our events, and they go very well.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

Make sure you have a clear understanding of all of your ticketing and event needs. There are many things Handbid doesn't explicitly provide but can provide workarounds for if needed, but that needs to be communicated well before your event/auction.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Handbid for our day-of event needs; checking attendees in, tracking donations, raffle tickets, the paddle raise, and attendee check-out.

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> Hi Chelsea, thanks for your review. We are thrilled that you received great support both before and at your event. Our team is always eager to help our charity partners prepare for an amazing event. As you suggest, it is always good to work through your event plans (especially ticketing and check-in) with our team beforehand to make sure things will run smoothly. There are so many variations to how events are run and it is nice that platforms like Handbid can be molded (in most cases) to fit your process.

 ### 20. Good value for price

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda B. | Marketing and Development Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The price was the best for the amount of customization we could do.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

1) It wasn't as user-friendly from the backend as I expected it to be. I also paid for the package where we could customize the site more but still didn't have as much customization as I expected or wanted.

2) I could not 'preview' my landing page while designing it. For example, the head images required Handbid staff to change them b/c I couldn't change them on my own so there wasn't a way to view how it looked and then make revisions on my own for certain areas. The header image was particularly frustrating. It would have been easier if I could have changed those header images on my own and been able to preview it while creating it.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed an affordable auction software that would be easy to use for donors.

 ### 21. Overall decent platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maya K. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Fairly responsive to requests for help. Unfortunately, they did not pick up the phone during my event when I was panicking because I couldn't check people out, but overall they were pretty good about getting back to me with answers to my questions. I think their auction item site is decent. I recently used one where the photos of the items were so small the bidders could barely see the items they were bidding on.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

It's not super intuitive in a lot of ways. For example, trying to check people out was a multi-step process when it should have been easier.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Raising money for our nonprofit.

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> Thanks for your feedback, Maya. We take Customer Service and event experience very seriously, and I'm glad to hear we were able to quickly get back to you about your event-night questions. We also think our photo display on the website and app is generously sized! We'd love to hear your suggestions on check-out. We are always looking to improve the Auction Manager and User experience as we come out with quarterly updates. Please send us your feedback to service@handbid.com and we can add this to our weekly product meeting. Thanks for using Handbid and we look forward to powering your next fundraiser!

 ### 22. First Time Handbid User

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** YWCA L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The ability to support our nonprofit through a user friendly system AND make money for our organization is great! Although our auction looked different than in past years with no in person auction, the silent auction and other features allowed us to make the best of the situation and still bring in a similar amount as past years. Having access to numerous supporting FAQs and quick responses from Handbid staff made the learning curve that much easier.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The pain point I had was uploading all our item list for the first time from the spreadsheet we created (duplicating some items if I uploaded the document twice to capture changes to the spreadsheet) and uploading all the item pictures seemed very tedious when we had 350+ items regardless of dragging images to the upload tool or searching for each image and uploading one at a time. If the location of my images were set as default, I would have saved a lot of time. Once I got the hang of it though, I know that the next time I use it it will be much easier.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we solved was allowing access to the auction to everyone online due to COVID-19 restrictions. This allowed individuals from outside of the city to attend our auction virtually this year and added a level of accessibility to donate to a great cause.

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> Thanks, Mitchell! We are happy to hear your organization was able to host a fundraiser this year using our easy software. Thanks for your feedback on images, our developers are working on a way to make this easier for Auction Managers. We can see how having 350+ items is a lot to manage, luckily we can support all of your items and images all in one place! Thanks again and we are excited to help you with your future events.

 ### 23. Handbid is an easy to use app for fundraising auctions that helps streamline event recordkeeping!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jill G. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Ease of use for donors. The app was very good for most every donor.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Table and bid number assigning function could be better.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating the back-end accounting of our fundraising event and use during the silent auction.

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> Thank you for your feedback, Jill. We are glad to hear from your donors that Handbid was easy to use! While you can assign guests to tables quickly and easily, we realize that some events have a unique process by which they want to pre-assign tables and paddle numbers. We love working with our clients in advance to ensure their registration and check-in procedures run as smoothly as possible. It is always our recommendation that our customers reach out in advance to walk through this process with us.

 ### 24. Handbid Review

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> Hi Michael, thank you so much for your video review! Glad to hear you were able to do this all by yourself and it was easy for you to use. We will take your feedback to our software team about pushing the live video onto your desktop, thank you! We would love to share this on our site, if that's ok with you, and you can also get a $100 credit for your next fundraiser if you refer another organization to Handbid! Thanks again and we appreciate you taking the time to review our software.

 ### 25. Great Tool and Partner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay C. | Associate Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The receipting to donors was super easy and incorporated the FMV information manually. It was also nice that we could send reminder to all users.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

It did not integrate with our Salesforce database so we had to do a bulk upload of all the gifts.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems. The benefits was a successful event that exceeded our revenue goals! It was great having someone online with us for any troubleshooting the night of the event so there was little to no stress.

**Official Response from Melissa Glissmeyer:**

> We are so pleased to hear we help you exceed your revenue goals for this event! Thanks for letting us know about integrating with Salesforce; we are looking into this. Glad our bulk uploader was able to help you easily upload your items. Thanks for using Handbid and we look forward to powering your next event!

 ### 26. Handbid for our Casino Night fundraiser

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelley P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The platform was very easy to use for our users. The customer service at Handbid is excellent. Any time I had a question or problem they were very responsive and able to help troubleshoot right away. The weekly webinars were also helpful as well as the knowledge database. I could almost always find what I was looking for.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

At times it felt like there were too many functions but I also probably wasn't using them to their full capacity.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to make our auction more effective. Unfortunately, we couldn't use it at an in person event because of C-19. With the virtual auction we held, checkout and reconciliation was a breeze. I heard many of our participants tell us how much they liked using it and how easy it was. It is hard to give a thorough review because we purchased the software for an in-person event and wanted to utilize the ticketing function. I'm confident though that had it been at the event our check out process would have been much easier than in years past.

 ### 27. Visually Appealing with a few kinks to iron out

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I like that Handbid has an app that can be downloaded and used for bidding, or that bidding can be done through a web browser on the phone, tablet or computer. The platform is visually appealing to bidders and pretty user-friendly, even for an older crowd. I liked that there was a lot of customization on the look for the auction site. Allowing bidders/buyers/donors to see the auction goals, particularly the Fund of Need/Donation goal, was helpful in helping to get people excited to contribute.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Your saved auctions take some time to load in the app (15-20 seconds in some cases), even with good WiFi or cellular coverage. Some aspects of creating the auction were difficult. The boxes where you enter the description are fairly limited with how much you can actually see (but not limited on characters available). We have worked with another platform that was able to handle pictures that were not in 4:3 ratio, so a lot of time preparing for the auction was spent adjusting item photos to fit that ratio.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

We have been very happy with the product and service provided in preparing for our auction. They have a ton of how-to videos available online. Like any platform there are quirks and minor irritations, but the good things it can do far outweight any of those.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hold a Live and Silent auction each year. This year we had to pivot to fully virtual due to COVID-19, and had to get creative with the Live Auction since we were not able to have bidders in person. The platform made it easy for us to run a completely online auction and also send reminders via push notifications on the app or via text message about the auction, new items, etc.

 ### 28. Handbid: great for the younger, bigger crowd

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dorothy G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

We really appreciated the ease of adding and displaying auction items and loved that we didn't have to use the old pen and paper routine. Check out worked well. I do think this software is much more appropriate for a very large auction event, better so than the small event.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

It may be that our audience is less tech-savvy than the average crowd but we found people reluctant to use the technology (and we had used it the previous year, for the same event). We even utilized "runners" to help people with the technology and it just didn't go as smoothly as when were testing it. In addition, there were people (young and old) who were disinclined to share personal information with the app.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We thought utilizing the software would cut waaay down on paperwork but the first year we used it the reporting was NOT easy and we spent quite a bit of time trying to get the information we wanted in the way we wanted. The second year reporting worked out much better and we're not sure if this was the result of our "experience" or changes made to the software. If there is a benefit realized it would be the facility of having item information available online.

 ### 29. Simple and efficient!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katlynn C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

In the world of moving to virtual events and gala, HandBid is the perfect solution to hosting a great acution that is also econimically friendly with the impact of lower sponsorship dollars. I love their weekly webinars and they are so helpful.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

I wish they had an example of how to register and bid on items via the internet and not just an app.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its very easy to solf problems with their help area.

 ### 30. Handbid Offers Opportunities to Learn

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

The trainings have been helpful with learning the ins and outs of the system and getting ideas for the users at the event.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Too many steps for attendees to get on their phone. It's just not an intuitive process for my attendees to get set up on their phones.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

Use the trainings to learn everything you can about the backend of the system. Test it for the user and hire an expert to come to your event!

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past we had a problem with duel bid numbers, but they've worked through that and worked with me on uploading the list and sending an expert.

 ### 31. Good For Schools

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

We've used Handbid for 3 years now for our elementary school silent auction. We love how easy it is for our families to bid on both the app and a computer, we like the easy access to our previous auctions' information and the user friendly dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The lack of reports that we can run from our side, we needed a report for each bid made during a specific period for a raffle. That bidders cannot respond to the broadcast messages nor can you see if they had been read. The cost is a bit high for a school compared to some other platforms. We didn't like that we had to manually set a timer to end the auction and that it could not be extended once set.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us raise money for our school.

 ### 32. One of the better mobile sites

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I like how user friendly the app is. It really makes the experience easy for our guests at events. It's also easy to use on the flip side. Set up is pretty easy, and someone usually responds within the day if I have questions or need help adjusting something.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

I have heard from numerous guests that as soon as the event is over, the event disappears on their app. They then have to go into some random auction so they can get to their profile tab to see and pay their invoice. I have yet to find a way that doesn't make them do this. Also the puzzle piece is a cool idea, but being a feature in one of our events was a mistake since in glitched out. I think sometimes they try and get a new product out before it's completely ready.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

No mobile site is perfect. As technology is constantly changing, so are the things that we use. I like that Handbid has webinars to teach about new additions. I like that they send out emails with upcoming information. The only thing I've had issues with consistently is different report pulling, like getting the full details of things. Overall I would recommend Handbid if you're thinking of entering mobile bidding. I've used a few other sites, and this one has been the best and most user friendly overall.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handbid is easy to close out. I like that all the information we need is within one system. We can pull reports for annual audits and to import into our system.

**Official Response from Jeff Porter:**

> HI there. Thank you for your review!

We wanted to jump in and provide some tips on how a guest can find their invoice after an event.

Once an event is over, it will remain in the guest's "My Events" tab for quite some time. If the guest has exited the app, they should end up back on this tab as soon as they log back in.

Another trick, is to also swipe from the left side of the screen to reveal the menu where they can view their invoice.

Finally, if a guest has an invoice that is not paid, Handbid will prompt them and ask if they want to view/pay the invoice and take them to it!

 ### 33. Easy, Convenient, Intuitive Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I love how intuitive handbid is, so easy to figure out.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The reporting is not wonderful, there are many reports where having the payment type included would be helpful, but it has to be pulled in a separate report then combined. Not being able to pre-assign bid numbers is less than desirable and the software can occasionally have hiccups or run a bit slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

This will make running an auction light times easier.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offering a more convenient auction and the ability to keep them open longer. Easy financial tracking and quick check in and check out. Definitely makes the event process much easier. Love this product, despite the few things I'd change.

 ### 34. Satisfied with a few concerns

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon B. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

Great for mobile users. Consistent and quick responses from support.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

The signup process for anything but mobile is very tedious and confusing. Many people told me it hindered them from logging in on their computer.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

Be clear about what you are using it for and make sure that it can do it.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silent auctions at our fundraising event.

 ### 35. Used Handbid for a last minute auction and it was a good experience.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darnell A. | Marketing Specialist , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

It was quick and easy to set up and self-explanatory

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

Couldn't really customize the mobile auction platform to better brand the event.

**Recommendations to others considering Handbid:**

Make sure the solutions offered are right for your auction.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us set up and run a last-minute auction in a short and efficient turn around time.

 ### 36. Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Handbid?**

I think it is easy to use, easy to modify and the user interface is well done.

**What do you dislike about Handbid?**

There is a nice feature to be able to upload all the auction items through a spreadsheet, but there isn't a clean way to upload pictures. They all need to be done individually.

**What problems is Handbid solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes Auctions and Payment Collection go Smooth.
