Law firm practice management software runs a firm's intake, conflict checks, matters, deadlines, time, billing, trust accounting, documents and client portal in one system. The Hammer Lex is a web-based platform of this kind for solo, small and mid-sized law firms. It also reports live profit and loss by matter, client and timekeeper. What it does: - Client intake with deterministic conflict-of-interest checking - Matter management with court-day and holiday aware statutory deadlines - Time tracking with per-timekeeper and per-matter rates - Multi-tier split billing, invoice audit, trust accounting and retainer replenishment - Merge-field document drafting with an immutable version history - A matter-scoped client portal with access to invoices, documents, messages, receipts and audit events - Staff and HR management, including profiles, skills, PTO and recruitment - Live profit and loss by matter, client, practice area and timekeeper Who it is for: solo attorneys, small firms and mid-sized firms that want intake, conflicts, matters, time, billing and profitability in one workspace instead of several disconnected tools. Integrations: invoices export to QuickBooks Online. An optional Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook connection turns meetings into suggested time entries and writes matter deadlines back to the calendar. It is off by default, and each user connects it individually.
