## HackerRank for Developers Reviews
 ### 1. Great Test Variety for Screening, but Setup and Navigation Need Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

I like the variety of tests, and I also appreciate that there are contests for users to take so they can practice their knowledge. I’m using these tests as part of the screening process for selecting applicants for a bootcamp.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

I don’t like that it isn’t clear how to create tests for applicants, and I also don’t like that there’s no reminder I can send to applicants. Plus, all the tests are technical; I would prefer having soft skills and English-level tests instead of needing to use different tools just to stick to one tool. I also didn’t find it easy to navigate the first time I used it. It set me up as a student by default without asking whether I’m a company, even though I’m using the platform to test and screen bootcamp applicants. And its price is high

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves my problem because all the pre-existing technical tests are already there, so there’s no need to create a test from scratch. Since I’m not a technical person, I use these tests in the screening process to select applicants for a bootcamp.

 ### 2. It is amazing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** shubham m. | Business Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2025

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

There service is amazing and easy to understand

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

The time taking process is not satisfied

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Or is most probably the service they provide

 ### 3. User-Friendly Platform with goof features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roshni K. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2023

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

I really enjoy HackerRank for Developers as a frontend developer since it has a huge library of code challenges designed only for people like myself. The platform offers a broad variety of frontend-focused issues that let me hone my abilities and discover new ideas.

The interactive coding environment is one of the elements that really stands out to me. It enables me to develop and test my code in real-time and gives me immediate feedback on the accuracy and effectiveness of my work. This tool helps me improve my coding style while also enhancing my ability to solve problems.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

Some of the coding jobs on HackerRank may be unduly concentrated on algorithmic problem-solving, which may not necessarily be in line with what a frontend developer does on a daily basis. I would enjoy a larger emphasis on frontend-specific difficulties that represent real-world circumstances as someone who primarily works on user interfaces and client-side technology.

The rigidity of the frameworks and code languages is another issue that I find a little annoying. Although a good variety of programming languages are supported by HackerRank, there are moments when I wish I could utilise the particular frontend libraries and frameworks that I am most accustomed to. The experience would be more applicable and useful for frontend developers if there was the opportunity to remedy issues using well-known frontend tools like React or Vue.js.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It begins by addressing the problem of skill development and learning. The portal provides access to a vast database of coding challenges that span many different themes and levels of complexity. This enables me to advance my understanding of numerous frontend ideas and to continually improve my problem-solving skills. I can hone my abilities and keep up with the most recent developments in frontend development by frequently taking on these tasks.

By offering a practical and hands-on learning experience, it also addresses another issue. I can develop, test, and debug my code in real-time using the interactive coding environment provided by HackerRank. This instant feedback loop is really helpful for me since it allows me to polish my coding abilities, find mistakes, and improve my solutions.

 ### 4. Overall very Good!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

I exclusively use HackerRank as an Administrator, and I must say, it is incredibly user-friendly. To begin my journey, I enrolled in the HackerRank Academy, which served as an excellent starting point for familiarizing myself with the platform.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

In my experience, I have never encountered any issues.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HackerRank is the ideal platform for effectively assessing applicants at an early stage in the recruitment process.

 ### 5. HackerRank - Pros and Cons

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asim N. | SDE, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2023

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

The good thing i like about hackerRank are:
1. A very large pool of questions to practice
2. Topic wise questions with their difficulty level, therefore helps to practice questions that user wants to practice
3. The user interface is very clear and looks very good.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

The things i dislike about hackerRank:
1. Usually the questions are very long and takes a lot time reading them, so it's more of English reading than solving questions
2. There is no rewarding system like what other platforms like leetcode provides
3. There is no challenges like daily and weekly challenges that motivates the use to do it daily , and if they are present they can't be easily found

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HackerRank is a good coding platform where users can prepare for their coding interview rounds, it's similar to leetcode but mostly questions are always given like long stories , which i think can be good and bad both depending upon the user needs.

 ### 6. HackerRank-A great place to code, compete and certify!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swagata Laxmi B. | Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

Features that I liked the best are:
-It has an amazing User Interface that is perfect for beginners.
-You can solve questions according to difficulty level.
-It is self-paced.
-Prepare by topics, earn points and get skill badges.
-Get free certifications.
-Compete in different contests with others globally and get rewards.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

-I feel like the number of topics available to prepare from is less but that depends on you.
-I think to make it more beginner-friendly, providing study materials/documentation on the available topics would be helpful.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-I used this platform to brush up on my coding knowledge when I was in college and very new to coding.
-This was the platform that majorly helped me to get better at coding by practicing regularly.
-The Discussions tab helped me to understand how to do coding efficiently, it had numerous solutions to the same problem which helps you to understand how one is better than the other.
-It has a leaderboard and you can earn points to get badges on your skills which keeps you motivated.

 ### 7. Great platform for interview preparation and skill testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AMAL P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2021

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

It helps us to practice, certify and compete with others ,and even helps in finding a job.It supports all programming languages and the quality of the challenges are so good.It has an eye catching UI and Beautiful badges to earn.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

Still I didn't find anything. It has all the functionality to do so.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During pandemic it was the time for virtual interviews, so to prepare for coding challenges hackerRank is an ultimate solution. It provides several test cases so that my code won't fail.

 ### 8. Great customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David A. | Assessment Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

Great customer service from our account manager and the technical team. Very flexible in approach to supporting us, and very responsive.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

We were a little slow getting moving due to some conflicting views on the broad applicability of some assessments across different languages, but much of that has been resolved with the support of the HackerRank team.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been attempting to professionalise and standardise our assessment of incoming software development talent as we build ou our in house capability. HackerRank is the first supplier we've worked with specifically to this end, and although we're at the beginning of our journey, we have a good process up and running.

 ### 9. Awesome

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erick Augusto F. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2021

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

I have access to all the problems, independent of my level of experience on the platform. So, if I am a new user, but already have experience with problem solving, I can skip to harder problems.
I can submit the solutions to see the testing set failing, and unlock the test case to analise the code.
I can read about the best solution on the platform itself, and follow the thread of comments of a specific problem.
The gamification and certificates are nice as well.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

The job page offer jobs for US citizens only, what I do not am.
Besides I have been using HackerRank for some time, I have never received a message from any company that saw my profile. I feel like what I do on the platform itself is not contributing to my career directly.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data structure and algorithm problems, Java problems, string problems, mathematical problems as well. I have been training my brain to solve problems faster, and with more precision, having better scores at technical assignments and increasing my chances of getting a better job.

 ### 10. best coding plateform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vipul T. | Augmented & Virtual Reality Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

the practice test are awsome which help lot learn the language properly

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

everything is good but sometimes it creates a problem to open ...for a beginner the challenges are good ...but it is not for the advanced level codder.

**Recommendations to others considering HackerRank for Developers:**

hackerRank is the best platform to develop the skill in coding ...it is user-friendly... hackerrank includes so many coding challenges which help u to improve ur logic ability skills.

 ### 11. Great tool for coding practice for interviews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

1. Awesome collection of coding questions for interviews and learning
2. Great competitions to keep you motivated for coding
3. Good discuss and solution pages for each coding question to learn better
4. Good ranking system to understand the reliability of one's answer
5. Good comment feature on discuss pages to generate an intellectual discussion on problems to get to the best answers

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

1. Other competitors like Leetcode have better collection of coding questions for interviews
2. Lists of top questions list can be improved

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Interview platform for recruiting world class engineers

 ### 12. Lots of exercises that are usually well rated by difficulty

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John Z. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2020

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

It's got a whole lot of good "homework problems" as I like to call them. Usually there's some known algorithm that solves them and they're good practice. They also offer some certifications for problem solving, languages, frameworks/tools, etc.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

Sometimes the descriptions of what they are looking for are bad, but usually the "discussion" tab has clarifications or helpful tips if you're stuck.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I started using it as a means to practice for coding interviews. Often times, the problems they ask you to solve have nothing to do with the actual work, but are "homework problems" (my term). They always seem to me like the algorithm came first, and then they created a problem to fit the solution. So doing a bunch of these is helpful for that. I'm not sure that it would help improve your problem solving skills generally though.

 ### 13. Developer

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aishwarya S. | Java Intern

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

Understanding concepts like DSA and aslo able to use it to improve skills.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

I dont find disadvantages for now atleast as i havent used much

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DSA

 ### 14. The platform worked without any issues and it was easy to do my coding challenges on this platform.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2020

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

The platform was fast: I did not have to wait too long when I submitted a solution. It was also fairly easy enough to see which tests were failing and respond accordingly. The instructions were also clear, no confusion there. There was no particular issues that I could notice when I attempted my coding challenges.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

I do not feel like the questions represent skills that are needed in the workforce. It would be nice to see questions that are less about competitive programming and more about tasks that are required at work everyday. For example, questions about working with APIs for backend roles, or working with some particular frameworks for specialized roles. Also, it would be nice if there was an easier way to add custom test cases, I feel like the current way is quite clunky sometimes in terms of formatting required to add test cases.

**Recommendations to others considering HackerRank for Developers:**

Follow the instructions and you will have no issues whatsoever with the platform.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I usually use HackerRank as a platform for coding challenges. However, the existing challenges serve as a good way to practice before doing them.

 ### 15. A (Good) Archive for Developers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mehmet Arda A. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2021

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

Questions are challenging and drive developers to think outside of the box. It is possible to learn a new data structure and/or algorithm for the best solution of every problem if you are a junior developer.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

Whole website feels... dead. Most of the comments in discussions are 6 years old and new contests does not appear frequently as they used to be.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I sharped my coding skills greatly with this platform, it is a great source for technical interviews.

 ### 16. help me to move forward

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2020

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

thinking on the correct way for how to figure out about problems and how to solve them.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

unclear documentation for new users. major of my friends dislike and discontinued use it because found it hard to explain how to solve the code problems.
I am personally found the same problem with SQL train-path.

**Recommendations to others considering HackerRank for Developers:**

Do it, maybe in first found it hard, but really it so funny and helpful for your mind and your thinkings.

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

lifesaver of many cases has not come inAir. from void. hackerRank gives me and teach me alongside with codinGames, how to think in problem, and the closest ways to solve it. For example, high computations problems of Graph Theory become now easy for me.

 ### 17. It has been a great place for me to hone my programming and analytical skills.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pronoy M. | Student Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2020

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

I really like the idea of the new certifications programme in Hackerrank. Even the current set of skills being targeted by the programme is great and expansive. The number of learning tracks are large in number and cover mostly all domains in standard competitive programming.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

There are a number of features that need to be rectified OR some very specific enhancements should be done:
- If a problem statement needs to be rectified and a concerned edit is suggested, the edit is never reviewed or it takes a long time to do so. For e.g. a problem edit which I gave about two months ago is still pending.

- Complete dark mode should be there to ease the strain on eyes

- There should be more ways to spend Hackos earned as opposed to only spending them on test cases

- A problem/contest creator should not be awarded Hackos for solving his/her own problems in/during a contest

- Expansive features available to companies and recruiters should be made available to standard users as well (this could w.r.t the ranking of the users. For e.g. someone ranked only 3000 and better can get to use XYZ feature available to only a company or recruiter)

- More expansive editorials with proper diagramming and progressive approach

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, I am using Hackerrank to improvise my coding skills across a variety of programming domains. Occasionally, I also get a chance to become a contest creator and implement my own problems in the environment provided by Hackerrank. The new certifications programme has been beneficial to understand how would I perform in a timed test.

 ### 18. A good start for CS students

As a new CS student I learned python, C language ,JS with the help of hacker rank.

 ### 19. It almost gave me the real interview experience.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vignesh J. | Android Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

It was challenged sometimes with a lot of hidden test cases. and I liked it most because challenges are accepted.
Since the Hackerrank is the first platform to be used in my life to practice coding, It plays a big role in my preparation towards the coding interview.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

Some set of problems are uninteresting and less challenged are dislikeable. and platform like leetcode provides the optimal solution for the problems, such that after solving a problem by ourself , then we can compare our optimality with the best case optimalities. Then the leaning happens.
But every other features are great in hackerrank. It is the best.

**Recommendations to others considering HackerRank for Developers:**

Hey buddy! You are at the right place to practice coding from a very beginner to a hardcore coder. Please be patient while you get struggled at a problem. Just tell yourself everything takes time and be self-Motivated. you can crack it. All the best!

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to solve the random set of problem in HackerRank and they made me more confident in problem-solving.

 ### 20. Hackerrank : A Place For Practice ,Preparation and Jobs .

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ASHOK K. | Software Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2020

**What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?**

The best thing which i like about HackerRank is the " Easy and convenient User Interface " . The plagiarism checker of HackerRank is surely the best in the market due to which it's the favorite portal for the recruiters to conduct the online contests on it.

**What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?**

There is nothing much to dislike about HackerRank expect that :-

1) They have significantly reduced the number of programming contest over last few years.

**Recommendations to others considering HackerRank for Developers:**

If you are either a recruiter or a student then HackerRank is the best option for you to consider .

**What problems is HackerRank for Developers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HackerRank has helped me a lot in improving my DS-Algo skills over the period of time . I got a chance to interview with some top notch companies through the contests held on HackerRank . HackerRank covers all the essential study material required to crack the interview of a good product based company . Also it's the favorite among the recruiters because of it's solid plagiarism checker which helps in capturing the candidates using the unfair means.
