Among my folks, it feels so great when I tell them I just finished hacking a box and what each box is rated. It is very hands on, as every time you learn a new concept, you get to practice using that concept to accomplish something in a simulated environment. It also requires a level of "figuring it out" using your own resources, rather than spoon-feeding the solution to you. Because of these things, HTB Academy simultaneously teaches you cybersecurity concepts, how to actually use them and turn them into skills, and the soft skills that are implicity required in this line of work such as autodidacticism. When HTB Academy is used in conjunction with HTB Labs (where you can find labs that are relevant to a concept you just learned), it further helps you to apply new knowledge to your skillbase and your work. The websites for these platforms are also top notch and function great, with active and easy-to-reach customer service support and a real GPT chat bot that is helpful. **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** For the same reason I love HackTheBox, it also can have its downsides. Since the challenges require some "figuring it out," for beginners it can be a harsh learning curve characterized by lots of time to progress with little reward. It can sometimes feel like I could learn some skills faster if I was not floundering around wondering about the next step. I will say this floundering often times does result in some extra learning of relevant topics, but often it does not and feels like I could have learned as much but quicker had I had a little more guidance. **What problems is HTB Enterprise Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** HackTheBox has taught me many things that my university has not. I've mostly done ProLabs but also a few CTF boxes. The quality is very good. I've had to ask for support with something only once; In a minor lab problem the support replied fast and was indeed working towards finding the solution. Nowadays I do CTF and / or ProLabs nearly daily in HTB. The service meets the expectations well and the connections are solid. Connecting to the networks for CTF and Labs with OpenVPN is easy. The connection is stable and works as expected. It is so easy to fire up the VPN, join a box and get your feet wet hacking. **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** To find something I dislike, I had to think it very hard. Perhaps the only thing I dislike is how my older laptop find the web site animation a bit tough to process. That however is no longer an issue after a laptop upgrade. **What problems is HTB Enterprise Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** I practice to learn more about different technical aspects, hacking techniques and to develop a certain mindset. I've found the challenges making me really learn thinking outside the box to solve different things. After completion, I write a brief summary about a box or a machine in a lab, to review the process later. Coming back to these summaries with the notes I've taken from the machine, has taught me a lot about how to approach a certain kind of a problem. As an example; how to think and what questions to ask yourself when you face an unfamiliar web service. The attackbox is great but the possibility for VPN access is the best for me. I use it multiple times a week and it always works with the VPN which also has the advantage that you can store your tools in your own VM for use in the future. When having a problem, the chatbot helps with common issues but when you need a real representative from HTB, it is not to hard to get in touch with them. **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** Sometimes the anser formats are unclear or strange. The answer is right but because of the format the answers are wrong. Also sometimes the target VM glitches with startup so it stays in the startup status which is a bit annoying. But terminating the VM and starting it again solves the issue. **What problems is HTB Enterprise Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Learning more on blue as well as red teaming and technical skills that you do not use everyday but can be very usefull. You can start doing Boxes and try to hack a complete machine. If you are more of a beginner, you can use the new guided mode to make it a bit easier. If you want to learn about new topics academy is the right place for you. Academy has comprehensive learning content that can be directly applied to little challenges given by hack the box. Every time I even had small problems, I could just could contact customer support via chat and get instant help. I use it atleast every week and in some weeks i use it nearly daily. Because it is a SaaS Platform there are no problem to implement and integrate it into our daily doing. **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** My only complain was that is was to hard to start learning as a complete beginner. It contains many machines and challenges on varied topics like binary,web,cryptography etc.. I use their platform everyday and im addicted to learn lot of things from this platform. Since they have enterprise version my organization had subscribed, so i spend time at office when I'm free, They have integrated enterprise and public platform in such a way one doesnot loose their progress, which is very good for tracking user milestones etc.. HTB community is all about dedication. It is good to learn from the people aiding in sharing content and knowlege. Their web apps are so well designed for user experience without compromising on content. Spending time here will likely boost our career options, since the profile ranks and points shows an individual's time spent on the platform which is proportional to the user's skillset. I really like their weekly machines and challenges for which ranks are acheived creating a compitition among users. Learning curve is steep compromising on the content. And then you can go and play with your new knowledge on the original hack the box platform **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** I had very little problems with hack the box. The customer success team was great and also helped us try to motivate users (which was a problem for us). They also added a blue team certification. But it was not there in the beginning. I have nothing to dislike on Hack the box **What problems is HTB Enterprise Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The knowledge lack of technical aspects of security. My security department were good at our own policies, but we are also responsible to develop these policies and to implement them into new solutions. And to develop them we need the knowledge of how hackers and threat actors work and how they are able to exploit different platforms and technologies. I use it to train my students (community college) and also play in my free time. The platform is fun and has a large variety of challenges. Pre-lockdown/Covid the area I live in used to have a ton of local CTFs to play in each year. Now we don't have any, so I scratch the ich on Hackthebox. The prolabs are great and standalones are almost never the same, I do wish there were more Pro Labs though. **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** The business platform is a interface bit clunky and reporting could be better, I can't really do proper reporting to track my students. During the HTB cert training (Pentest/soc analyst) my students and I discovered several issues with the course materials but there doesn't appear to be a direct way of reporting this as some of them require either verbal/screen sharing to properly communicate, a business/enterprise support discord channel would be great for this along with a way to report an issue directly from within a module. I say playing and not training because Hack The Box does a great job at three major things. One: Everything is hands-on, there's no long videos to sit through. Two: There are multiple ways to learn... from pro labs, academy, forensics, full scale capture the flag (CTF) tournaments, and of course solving unique user created boxes. Lastly HTB is doing a great job of making the cybersecurity community a more social one. Cybersecurity is HARD! and I'd highly suggest joining their Discord. If you ever need help someone from the HTB Discord community or official customer service will usually answer your question pretty quick. If you're a cybersecurity professional looking to learn new skills or if you're new to the field, the Hack The Box platform is an essential tool for team development and training. **What do you dislike about HTB Enterprise Platform?** Don't try to work on your car's engine before you know the difference between the fuel tank and the ignition. Cybersecurity is a difficult field and Hack The Box forces you learn in a tough but very realistic way. It's not for everyone! If you learn better by passively watching videos than there are other platforms more suited for that. My only real complaint is that the platform uses three different websites/logins, which is annoying for competitive players and confusing for newcomers. **What problems is HTB Enterprise Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** My team (10+ users) use the Enterprise platform for training new hires, and to practice in large scale environments. The Academy and Pro-labs have been worth their weight in gold for the amount of knowledge it has brought to the team. On multiple occassions we've found real life vulnerabilities that we initially learned on Hack The Box. I kind of miss the fact that it's all not in one place and it doesn't all come together in terms of progression gained. It also happens that some of the practical tasks in the academy, which are at the end of the modules, are created in such a way that in order to go through the whole thing you may not fully know what to do because it is not integral to the information that is in the module.
