## Gusto Pricing FAQs

Generated using AI

Is Gusto free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, Gusto does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

How much does Gusto cost in 2026?

According to G2 data, Gusto pricing in 2026 starts at $49.00 and can reach $180.00 depending on the selected plan. Pricing may vary based on billing terms or usage, so users should review the Gusto's official pricing page for the most current details.

Who is Gusto pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviewers, Gusto's pricing is best suited for small businesses with fewer than 50 employees, which represents the overwhelming majority of reviewers. Solo entrepreneurs and S-corp owners running payroll for themselves find the Simple plan particularly accessible and straightforward. Growing teams needing time tracking, multi-state compliance, and scheduling benefit most from Gusto's Plus plan. G2 reviews from industries including healthcare, mental health, nonprofits, consulting, and professional services reflect strong adoption across service-based businesses. Larger or scaling organizations may find Gusto's pricing of Gusto less competitive as headcount grows, with several mid-market reviewers noting they eventually outgrew the platform's capabilities or cost structure.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Gusto?

Gusto does not offer a free version, but G2's pricing data for Gusto shows a clear tiered structure. The Simple plan at $49.00 per month covers single-state payroll, basic onboarding, and standard support. Gusto's Plus plan at $80.00 per month adds multi-state payroll, time tracking, scheduling, next-day direct deposit, and advanced HR tools. Gusto's Premium plan at $180.00 per month unlocks a dedicated Customer Success Manager, certified HR expert access, compliance alerts, and priority support. G2 reviewers frequently note that features like time tracking and advanced HR resources feel gated behind more expensive plans, which can frustrate smaller teams on tighter budgets.

Is Gusto considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers broadly consider Gusto good value, particularly for small businesses. Many users highlight that Gusto costs significantly less than competitors like ADP, Paychex, and QuickBooks Payroll while delivering comparable or superior functionality. Reviewers frequently praise the flat monthly fee structure, noting that unlimited payroll runs within a billing period make it especially cost-effective. However, G2 reviews consistently flag that Gusto's pricing of Gusto scales upward as teams grow, with per-employee fees adding up quickly. Some reviewers note that advanced features like time tracking, next-day direct deposit, and HR tools require higher-tier plans. Several users mention switching from Rippling or Paychex specifically for cost savings.

"Gusto is very difficult to work with"

0/5

What do you like best about Gusto?

Price is fine. Not much else positive to say here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Gusto is very difficult to work with. Getting setup is a nightmare. Every time I think I am done with my setup, I find out later there is more. I have had 5+ false starts. The customer care team acts like everyone should know every trivial detail about their operation. I was finally able to run a test payroll. When I tried to run the actual payroll - it failed. It failed because Gusto tested one thing, but did something very different for the actual payroll. It has been one headache after another and still cannot get it right. No one at Gusto can admit there is a problem on there end. Use someone else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?

They have not solved any of them. They just keep creating new ones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
