"Well-Organized and Intuitive — Finding What I Need Is Effortless"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I find the system to be very well organized and user-friendly, making it easy to locate the information and resources I need. I also appreciate having convenient access to the employee documents I have signed, as it allows me to review company policies and procedures whenever I have questions or need clarification. Having everything centralized in one place has made it much easier to stay informed and confident that I am following organizational expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

One area that could be improved is the responsiveness of the system when clocking out for breaks. At times, there is a noticeable delay or lag before the action is processed, which can make it unclear whether the time entry has been recorded successfully. Improving the system's speed and reliability during the clock-in and clock-out process would help create a smoother user experience and provide employees with greater confidence that their time is being tracked accurately. Overall, this is a minor issue, but addressing it would enhance the efficiency and usability of the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Reliable Payroll Solution for Small Teams"
4/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto has completely simplified payroll for our small business. Before switching, we were manually calculating tax withholdings and chasing down compliance deadlines, which ate up hours every pay period. Now, payroll runs automatically, and Gusto handles federal, state, and local tax filings without me having to think about it.

The onboarding flow for new employees is a standout feature — new hires can fill out their own W-4s, set up direct deposit, and sign offer letters digitally, which has cut our onboarding time from days to minutes. I also really appreciate how transparent the pricing is; there are no hidden fees, and the tiered plans make it easy to pick what fits our team size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

My biggest frustration is with the reporting features — they cover the basics well, but if you want to build a custom report or slice the data in a way that isn't already templated, options are limited. I've had to export to a spreadsheet and manipulate things manually more than once.

Customer support, while friendly, can be slow during peak times like open enrollment or year-end tax season. I've had a couple of tickets take a couple of days to get a real answer, which is stressful when it's payroll-related and time-sensitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gusto Simplifies Payroll and HR with an Easy, Reliable Experience"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

We've had a very positive experience using Gusto for our payroll and HR needs. As a growing business, we wanted a platform that was easy to navigate, reliable, and would simplify our payroll process, and Gusto has delivered on all of those expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I am very happy about the platform! One of the things we've appreciated most is Gusto's customer support. Whenever we've had questions during setup or while learning the platform, the support team has been responsive, knowledgeable, and willing to walk us through the process. That level of support has made the transition much less stressful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Move from ADP: Gusto's Clear Guidance, Easy Benefits & Flawless First Payroll"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Being a long-time ADP user, I was apprehensive about moving to another payroll platform. I needed the full-service multi-state tax filings and benefits management that I was used to, but I was tired of the high monthly fee. My favorite thing about Gusto (so far) is that every step has been laid out for me in plain English. I didn't have to research the state requirements separately because Gusto guided me through what I needed to know (and I definitely learned a few things along the way). The representative who helped me with setup questions was very patient. We successfully set up our benefits package, onboarded our employees, and ran our first successful payroll yesterday. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I can happily report that I have not run into any frustrating moments with Gusto. The initial set up, selection of benefits packages, and employee onboarding went very smoothly, and our first payroll ran without a hitch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use with Handy Pay Advance Features"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like how easy Gusto is to use, especially in the app. It's secure, and I use the Clair advance payment feature along with the Gusto spending account as my primary spending account. The Clair advance is convenient when I need extra cash for bills and unexpected expenses. It's also easy to repay since my direct deposit takes care of everything, so it handles the responsibility of paying it back. The spending account is easy to access and lets me see everything at a quick glance. Everything works very well. The email communications are quick too. I use the app, the Clair advance, and the web version. I've used Gusto as an employee with a different employer before and was always happy with the program. What stood out was the user-friendly aspect, the quick setup, the easy document completion, and the simple process of running payroll. The initial setup was super easy and took all of 5 minutes. I'd rate it a 10 out of 10 to recommend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Everything works very well. The only thing I would add is a live chat feature for customer service, but the email communications are quick too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Time Tracking and Easy Document Access"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like that the interface is really easy to use and navigate. The support team seems really available and the FAQ pages are easy to access. It makes it easy to clock in and clock out and to edit any shifts in case I need to go back and add a note to my hours. It also keeps my tax documents and pay stubs easily accessible and lets me see when upcoming paychecks are set to release. Earlier this year, I was getting all my tax documents in order to file my taxes, and though those documents are sometimes difficult to find through your job, Gusto's interface made it easy to navigate to the pay stubs, W-2 forms, and other documents I needed to make the whole experience smoother. The interface being simple, straightforward and not too cluttered makes it easy to use on a day to day basis. It's clear and visually simple but refined, so I'm not wasting time trying to navigate around a cluttered or clunky website. I can also access it from my phone and the app is super easy too, so if I'm on the go I can access all that I need. The setup was pretty easy with the instructions that were sent, and it was smooth and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

On the mobile app, I think that there might be a discrepancy in the total hours for the month or for the pay period. The mobile app does not always include PTO time in total hours. Since the breakdown is a little bit more detailed on the website version rather than the app, I will typically just double check it on the computer in order to view my total hours. "Gusto Makes Payroll Effortless: Clean UI, Easy Pay Access & Reliable Notifications"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

What I like best about Gusto is how easy it is to access my pay information. I can quickly view my pay stubs, tax documents, and payment history in one place. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and I appreciate getting notifications when I'm paid. Overall, Gusto has made the payroll process simple, convenient, and reliable from an employee's perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I haven't experienced any major downsides so far. If I had to mention one thing, I'd say it would be nice to see even more customization options and additional self-service features. Overall, my experience with Gusto has been very positive, and it has worked well for my payroll needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gusto: Effortless, Reliable Payroll for Solo S-Corp Owners"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I'd never run payroll for myself before as a new S corp owner, and Gusto helped me get set up for the relevant taxes, run payroll, and complete everything in about half an hour of work. It all felt intimidating and overwhelming at first, but Gusto made the process extremely easy. The UI is very clear and simple, the app works reliably, and it turned what could have been a complicated set of tasks into something straightforward and low‑stress. The price feels really fair considering how much they handle, and I like that it integrates with a variety of accounting tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I haven't encountered any major downsides yet. I was a little confused about some specifics of California tax rules, and there could have been a bit more guidance on what is likely to be necessary for a solo S corp. I also don't like the advertisements for various insurance products, which aren't necessary for solo, service-based S corps. Beyond those points, it's been perfect. "Stress-Free Payroll, Effortless Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like Gusto's ease of use. The website is very user friendly and understandable, and it makes payroll stress free. It sends reminders and makes onboarding very, very easy, so new employees don't miss anything that is important. They handle everything, and we feel confident that we are taking all the right steps. They remind us when our payroll is due, and they take out all the necessary benefits and taxes and handle that all for us with just a few clicks. It is amazing and saves us so much time, energy, and anxiety. When we hire new employees, we don't have to worry about missing a step with getting them set up for taxes or not getting them paid on time. We can feel confident that we offer a great program and reliability as far as their paychecks. The initial setup was extremely easy, a very smooth process with clear steps. We were doing payroll manually or sending it to our accountant before, so this is much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Payroll Setup with Helpful Proactive Notifications"
4/5
What do you like best about Gusto?

Fairly simple and intuitive interface, most things were pretty easy to figure out, even for a first timer running a business with multiple employees. They have a fairly innovative system. Adding employees is pretty straightforward as is running payroll. I also really appreciate many of the proactive frames or notifications helping you not only remember things on your to do list, but also sometimes suggesting things you didn't know could be helping you out in your business! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

Switching between pay schedules was a bit of a hassle and we had some snags figuring that out. Also trying to get our unpaid time off in place to be able to deduct from a salaried person's pay was a bit tricky.

Other than that, the cost can be a little bit annoying. It's not necessarily too bad, but it lacks options and even for a single small change in your needs, you potentially have to jump to another subscription tier significantly multiplying your costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
