It helped me find a highly qualified consultant for a very specific issue within a day. **What do you dislike about Guidepoint?** For instance the fees may hike even for short consultations and are rather expensive for small business or start-ups. Although such experts are crucial, it is an expensive luxury that not everyone can afford in the process. **What problems is Guidepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Looking at the current competitive business environment, Guidepoint provides a useful solution by linking opportune demand with expertise. Their customer service and client communication are truly excellent, and they always take the time to understand the requirements and specs asked for. Very high quality and consistent delivery. **What do you dislike about Guidepoint?** They are a little expensive, and any slight over-runs in expert calls are strictly accounted for and billed for. A little more flexibility would be very much appreciated! **Recommendations to others considering Guidepoint:** Be as clear, detailed, comprehensive and organised in your requests as you can to drive efficiency and accuracy in their expert searches for you. **What problems is Guidepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Access to domain experts from industry, academia, government agencies and non-profits. They are also very good at clarifying and sharpening the expert specs in order to secure the most suitable candidates for our projects. **What do you dislike about Guidepoint?** For sub-1hr expert calls, or calls more than 1hr but less than 2hrs, they bill in blocks of 30 mins but at very high per-minute rates: it will be great if they offer the option of 15 min billable blocks, and at lower rates. **Recommendations to others considering Guidepoint:** Do provide as much detail, clarity and context to them when sending project requests. **What problems is Guidepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** They provide industry experts for us to interview online, to enable rapid acquisition of the relevant insights and information needed to deliver our custom knowledge-content to our clients. ### 6. We were looking at an investment in the space, but we already had a contract in place with Guidepoint. **What do you like best about Guidepoint?** They found one good expert that provided 80% of what we were looking for. They also provided us a few candidate profiles pretty quickly. I also liked that they already had a MSA in place so no time was wasted on legal. **What do you dislike about Guidepoint?** They are way more expensive than the other networks we use (DeepBench, Silverlight, Zintro, Athenium), and they were unpleasant the entire time we worked with them. They also seemed to stop working on the project early on in the process, leaving us hanging. We took the same project to two of the networks listed above and they both provided the same exact expert but for $200-450 less than what Guidepoint charged us for him (both 60-minute calls). **Recommendations to others considering Guidepoint:** They may have the brand name, but others are doing the same thing just as well if not better and for cheaper. I would say try any of the networks listed at the top. **What problems is Guidepoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were trying to find a single network that could act as a one-stop-shop network but we didn't find that here. We now send the bid to all of the networks at once and let them race. ### 8.
