**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

For our conference, many people wanted a paper program, but we wanted to explore an app option as well, so we looked around and found Guidebook. What we loved was the ease of setting up. We could import the program information and easily update as needed. Even better, we were only charged for the number of members that used the app. This was really beneficial from a cost standpoint. It allowed us to experiment without a huge expense!

I love how members can create their favorite sessions and get reminders about start times!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I really can't think of any downsides since the program allows easy integration.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of Guidebook as allowed us to get rid of the paper program entirely!

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

For years we've appreciated the flexibility of guidebook's menu options, the push notification functionality, polling options, and the backend analytics. The customer support is excellent, we are regularly checked in on by the Guidebook team.

The polling/surveys can be unnecessarily difficult and unintuitive to set up. The "app within an app" nature can cause confusion for users trying to download.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook puts all the info users need for our event at their fingertips and allows us to easily send quick real-time updates to attendees.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It's a very user friendly app to build. I think the way you can "pin" things to the main menu is super helpful especially when you have such a large amount of data to sort.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

With so much data it was hard to get it put into a format that was useable with Guidebook, this isn't guidebooks problem but having other ways to upload things would be helpful.

I've used guidebook for multiple events over the years, my favorite part is how easy it it to use, navigate, and complete. I can get a full two day conference up and running in only a few hours!

The pricing for extra features doesn't work for my purposes, but for those who do events often on a large scale, would absolutely be worth the price in my opinion.

  ### 16. Easy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is pretty easy to set up, easy and quick to make updates and allowed us to save thousands in printing costs.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

We were getting users to download it, but they were not actually reading the information. Not really Guidebooks fault, more that this generation of students wants things handed to them and doesn't want to actually read.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were having to print a schedule with over 100 different events for around 15,000 people and that printing cost was huge, it was environmentally unfriendly and if things changed after it was printed there was no way to update.

  ### 17. User friendly!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

Guidebook is very simple for a non-coder to establish an app. The guides are easy to understand and easy to implement the features you want for your event. Our students and families also find using the app fairly easy.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Customer service is not always the greatest and working with their team on term negotiations is a struggle at contract time.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event scheduling and management

Getting information out to convention gowers

The ease of the software is incredible! From being able to upload and make edits, I find it easy to understand. I love our representative and customer support!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I wish Guidebook offered "gaming" where you can have contests and such throughout your event/conference. Leaderboard, etc.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review Guidebook.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> Thank you for the review.

Would you mind providing more context on on the process manual? Maybe we could set up a call. I'd love to learn more about how we can provide resources that support people.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emalie M. | Senior Events Planner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

All event info is in your attendees hands.

Unless you are paying for the yearly subscription, Guidebook lost most of its value to event planners. As someone whos company used Guidebook for years, this was our last time using it.

Instead of attendees coming up to me constantly asking questions, they know to check the app.

  ### 27. Conference Event Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook provides organizations the capability to provide conference and large event attendees a sophisticated event experience. We were able to brand the app to meet our standards of excellence and provide intuitive tools, resources, wayfinding and engagement to our teams.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Some of the features of the tool could be streamlined by hosting native event registration on the front end. We were required to host our own event registration and push registration details to the app, which is less efficient than other other apps available.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event organization, communication, wayfinding, and attendee engagement were the primary uses of the tool for our conference. We were able to send out push notification for changes, which was helpful for last minute adjustments to scheduled and locations.

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook was very easy to use and quick to pick up. A self explanatory UI for someone who may not be a very technical user. The customer support led a great introduction into Guidebooks and was very helpful along the process.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The plan features was a bit upsetting. Getting a year long subscription seemed pointless if we weren't able to create multiple guidebooks for seperate events.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebooks is solving an easy to use event app which benefitted our audience with digestible information.

  ### 31. Awesome App Builder

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** April M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook let me build our app just how we wanted it with little to no previous experience.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Nothing! I truly loved every part of the experience using Guidebook.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During the height of covid, there was a paper shortage, so we had trouble finding anywhere that could print our program book. We used Guidebook and put our entire program book in the app separated in to easy to use sections, and the overwhelming response from attendees was positive.

  ### 32. Flexible, easy to use mobile event platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chadd B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is easy to use from both a user and administrator standpoint. Their API allows for extensive custom development and external system integration.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Overall, nothing. There are a few technical features that would be nice to see added, such as SSO or the ability to control menu item permissions. But overall it's a great solution and no dislikes.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mobile event app that integrates with external event systems. Such as registration, attendee interaction, scheduling, etc.

  ### 33. Solid inclusive and simple app

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher F. | Assistant Director, Digital Strategy & Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

The ease of use for attendees and setup. Guidebook was a simple app to setup as an admin and ensure there were custom page details. Users wer able to easily create a schedule with ease.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The limited filtering was disapointing with Guidebook in the ability to have multiple types of session types in the filtering. We need an app with 3 unique fitering areas, which was not as easily possible in Guidebook without a lot of additional manual uploading.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A program for our large conference of 4000 attendees allowing attendees to see all the sessions taking place, view full presentation details, build a personalized schedule.

Conference session management

  ### 35. Easy to use and very helpful

  ### 36. Best App Around!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Logan A. | Director, Orientation & New Student Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is a great event management application. We purchased this product for our sizeable extended orientation program welcoming around 15,000+ people. This was an excellent way for us to organize our schedule and make sure that all of our guests attending received the most updated times, locations, etc., possible. Also, the notification feature is a must!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The only piece that I dislike about Guidebook is the analytics. Sometimes, I find the analytics dashboard hard to understand, and some data points are confusing and hard to navigate. I wish there was more information on those metrics and how I can best understand them.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook is making communication with our guests simple. We're able to provide push notifications as needed to inform our guests of any immediate changes and updates. Additionally, Guidebook allows us to keep everything simple!

Love the ease of updating schedules and being able to notify our conference attendants of important changes/updates. The platform itself was very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I wasn't able to link everything I needed

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attendees having access to conference information such as schedule, room location, any last minute changes/updates.

  ### 38. Wonderful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It was incredibly helpful to have food and hotel recommendations in the app. The map feature was also incredibly helpful. Our guests loved having all the information in one easy to access place. We had multiple elderly participants and they were able to easily use Guidebook.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I think it could be easier to set up on the admin side

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved having to post a lot of information I different places

  ### 39. Easy to Navigate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abriah F. | Senior Administrative Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook was key in helping our parents and students navigate our New Student Orientation. It helped them to keep up with the schedules of events which significantly decreased the volume of phone calls we received in the office. It aided in decreasing the confusion as to what events were necessary for parental attendance and those that were specifically for the students.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There were a few technical issues with uploading the schedules and when trying to manually add a schedule. Other than that there wasn't much to dislike. It had everything in place that we needed.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook has helped with our NSO by decreasing the need for parents and students to call the office for directions or instructions on what events they need to attend. It also serves as a central location for our new families to retrieve information not only about our campus, but also about lodging, food, shopping, etc. These things are essential to our families when they are coming to campus to drop off their students. It is especially beneficial to those who are new to the area and may not have an idea of how to navigate the city.

**Official Response from Gabriel Pimentel:**

> Hi Abriah! Hopefully, those issues were simple to resolve! When a template import fails, a detailed error report is emailed, clarifying which lines have an error and what it is. Our support team is always happy to assist further if needed. You can reach them at support@guidebook.com

  ### 40. Guidebook is a very versatile app, easy to use and customize, and their support team is top notch!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meagan S. | Tour and Event Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

I love the versatility! We've used it for self-guided campus tours and our large open house event. They have great resources to help you build what you want in the app, and the support is quick to respond and super helpful!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The GPS function is a tad difficult to use, but it hasn't prevented our tour from working well. We would also love to see a way to direct people through buildings, as opposed to just outdoors/what can be seen on the map integration.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main problem is visitors needing to come to campus during times we are unable able to offer in-person tours. Our self-guided tour has been used by hundreds and provided them a great tour experience during out off times.

  ### 41. Guidebook has been really great to work with for our large-scale event.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fine Art | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It was pretty easy to figure out the initial build of our branded app, and it has been relieving to know that we can copy our previous structure/items/folders/content from the previous year's app. It's been pretty easy to teach my interns how to navigate the app and make updates.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The only two things I can think of are 1) the Apple Store approval process is quite confusing now that we are required to handle it vs. the Google Play Store approval process that Guidebook handles. However I understand that this is not necessarily Guidebook's fault. And 2) uploading bulk uploads in the CSV file is pretty hit or miss. I have found that I need to split a bulk upload into much smaller pieces which can be a pain. Additionally my image files tend to be very large so I need to manually reduce a lot of them in order to fit inside the bulk upload.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a Guidebook app helps offset the number of printed event booklets we have to print. Between having a digital version of our complete booklet and the Guidebook app, we actually decided not to print any booklets this year at all which saved a ton of money. We've also used the QR game in the past which encouraged patrons to visit new sponsors onsite, and be willing to explore new areas of an unfamiliar footprint due to construction challenges.

  ### 42. User friendly and highly customizable event app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

This app makes it easy for us to create a tool for our event attendees to view important details, and for us to be able to update those details quickly and easily when necessary. It also allows us to send out push notifications, scheduled or right away, if we want to let attendees know about something going on at that time or notify them of important changes. Most recently it helped us keep our attendees informed during an emergency weather event and to switch to a hybrid conference format on the fly.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There are some features that I'd like to see added that don't currently exist, but as a customer you have a team assigned to you that you can ask questions of or make suggestions to. They will work with you to either meet your goal within the existing framework or provide your suggestion to their developers for consideration in a future update.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, Guidebook solves the problems of needing to print out conference agendas (saving us money and decreasing our footprint), needing a flexible format where we can make last minute changes that will inevitably occur, and providing us an easy way to quickly disseminate information to all of our attendees.

  ### 43. Sturdy platform for a fair price - great option for small companies.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan R. | Creative Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

The setup of Guidebook was quite simple. We used it for the first time several years ago and I had never used anything like it. It was intuitive, perfect for our use (a sales event within the company), and we were able to push out the app to our employees easily. For a group of people that are not always tech saavy, it was a breath of fresh air.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

We didn't necessarily dislike anything about the app. There were features that were behind paywalls that I would have liked to access but we didn't have the budget for. But this is less a knock on Guidebook and moreso just a reality of our budgets at the time.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The number one problem this solved was being able to give key event information to our group without having to print a bunch of paper, and to provide that information at the touch of a button where our people would be much less likely to lose it.

  ### 44. Guidebook helps with our conferences!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mikayla C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

We've used Guidebook for two of our past conferences. It's great to connect with the attendees and gather media from them as well.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The look could feel a little more modern.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook helps to put all of our conference info in an easy-to-find place for all of our attendees! It also allows them to connect with each other and network.

  ### 45. Great Higher Ed mobile solution for our events but a little on the pricey side

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor S. S. | Real Estate Agent, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Their software is fairly intuitive, making it easy to use. My event interns were able to log into my administrator account to create our app and I just had to review their work before clicking the 'Publish' button.

Linking YouTube or Vimeo videos was vital to the success of our events.

'My Schedule' feature makes it easy to customize only the sessions someone is interested in. That way they don't have to look at every option after they've already selected their preferred session to attend.

The GPS location feature with drop pins are invaluable to provide a way to navigate our campus on their own.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There are a few barriers to gaining access to the app that might deter your target audience from engagement. For example, finding where you enter the "Event Passphrase" and then creating a small profile/user account.

The software seems to be getting more expensive year after year with not a whole lot of upgrades/new features.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their customer support department has experienced significant turnover over the last few years. This has made it challenging to know who our point of contact is at any given time. They are trying to fix this by designating a POC to us that is more senior and stable at the company.

  ### 46. Guidebook changed the way we interact with our conference attendees

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rio G. | Digital Marketing Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

I love so much about Guidebook! It is so easy to use (for users & admins) which I really appreciate. My favorite aspects are the daily schedules, and also the custom components that I can use to create my own lists.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I'm sorry, I know this isn't helpful, but I honestly don't have any complaints. The customer service team is amazing, the usability is great, and it's intuitive to use.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the engagement issue we used to have with our attendees. We didn't utilize any app before Guidebook. We relied on messages being given in the beginning of sessions, which of course not everyone was in. We had a high % of attendees log in to Guidebook, so I was able to send out notifications that reached everyone that logged in. We couldn't do that before, and it's really helped us out to market the mini events we have within our conference.

  ### 47. No hassle and easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Audie W. | Director Of Communications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

My favorite aspect of Guidebook is the ease at which I can go from a draft to a live app! Being able to quickly publish updates to an app with little to no involvement required from Guidebook staff allows me to keep up with ever changing schedules/speakers which is all too common.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Guidebook’s pricing is a tad bit steep. I could sell it to more client events if it was a bit cheaper. Especially the smaller sized clients that have lofty goals of increasing their event attendance, but don’t necessarily have the budget for the premium guides.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook’s web feature was an amazing solution to promoting our event schedules within the app without require potential attendees to download an app for an event they may not attend. It helps us build our app out earlier on without having to house our schedule in two different locations to accommodate visitors to our website.

  ### 48. Useful & User-Friendly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ed M. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Tech support and speed of response was top notch. The Guidebook support team was thorough, detailed, proactive, patient, and polite. Each person I spoke to gave a great customer service experience.

From a user perspective, the "Personalized Schedule" feature was by far the most useful and popular. Heard great feedback about this feature.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

A common takeaway was the confusion and disconnect for users who downloaded our app, but were presented messaging like "get the Guidebook app" to get our app/guide.

The language used ("guide" VS "app") is not easily understood by users. Internally and externally, this was a challenge to communicate and clarify. Users simply want to download the app. It complicates our messaging and confuses users when they see "download Guidebook" or see our app referred to as a "guide".

Post-event reporting was also lacking. The results metrics need to be expanded to include more useful user behaviour.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onsite mass communication during event (Push notifications for weather, emergency, promotions, etc.). Links to FAQs, show schedules, and Maps were also very useful for our festival fans.

  ### 49. Great for large events!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

What I like best is that you can personalize your own schedule and send out push notifications.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The price is definitely a tough selling point, particular for events like ours that only happen once a year.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps event attendees see the entire schedule and can change locations due to weather, room cancelation, etc.

  ### 50. So Easy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared C. | Director of Student Engagement, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

We used Guidebook for New Student Orientation. It was super easy for everyone to access the schedules throughout the weekend. We even had students using it while waiting for other events to begin and reviewing the next days materials.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Honestly nothing. It was easy to create and easy to execute. The QR code made it easy to publicize too. I guess if I had one suggestion, I would say to have more options for bolding certain areas of the content. There were places we were unable to do that.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer need to spend thousands of dollars on printing schedules. It was our trial year, and we look forward to using it next year. Some of our upper-class students were jealous that they did not have it when they were new.
