## Guidebook Reviews
 ### 1. Guidebook - A Standard for Digital Information for Events

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allan C. | Senior Analyst - Digital Endpoint Solutions, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It offers plenty of features to fill the needs of a convention.
We use its API to intergrate with our digital signage systems when running our convention.
Plenty of guides are available to make it use to use and set up the system, and implementing features are straightforward.
We use it every year to promote and communicate our event and what it offers to all our attendees.
It allows our attendees to provide feedback for us to improve our convention.
Although some features were not working properly (Facebook integration), customer support was able to quickly asses the bug and provide a workaround. Luckily, the feature did not impact what we needed to run our convention.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The user interface isn't always obvious until you get used to it.
In the past, we used to guide preview feature to test our guide, but tech support quickly redirected us to publish privately our guide to test instead as the other feature was known to have bugs. I wish that would've been communicated properly to us beforehand, but it was a minor setback.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are slowly getting our attendees to switch over to Guidebook to reduce paper footprint of schedules.
Guidebook also allows us to be more flexible with schedules, not needing to limit ourselves to the printers.
We also use Guidebook to communicate changes to our attendees.

 ### 2. University Summer Program Guidebook Usage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tessa S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook made it so easy to get information out during the program, hold information/FAQs, and communicate. It also was easily accessible and easy to use for the students.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

In putting the schedule is very time consuming and just a long list of events. Having a different/calendar view when your creating events & the option to quickly copy a whole bunch of events to another day would be ideal.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication was previously handled through group texts with session reminders - having the session reminders from guidebook itself with all the details already listed really decreased the amount of communication we had to focus on sending out - clearing up time for other important tasks during the actual event. The participants were able to access their schedule easily at all times with out having to carry around a paper booklet & things like the wifi and event contacts were there with out the participants having to save or look through a lot of old communication.

 ### 3. Useable, useful event app

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Ability to create separate tracks for workshop schedules. Notifications are great and the backend is super user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I'd love too see expanded ad capabilities for event sponsors.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to create a central hub for all audiences of our conference (attendees, staff, sponsors, etc). Multiple strands for workshop rotations, well thought out features for venue, communications, etc.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're thrilled that Guidebook has been useful in creating a central hub for your conference and providing multiple strands for workshop rotations. We appreciate your feedback on expanded ad capabilities for event sponsors and will take it into account as we continue to improve our platform.

 ### 4. Guidebook Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It is so user friendly. We have a wide variety of ages at our event, from 18 - 60 yr old. Guidebook has simple step by step instructions to logging in, finding what you need to. It is completely customizable.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I haven yet to run into something I dislike about Guidebook.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Guidebook mostly for shceduling during an event. The app holds all schedule details and you can schedule notifications to attendees. You never have to worry about a lost paper program again!

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're delighted to hear that Guidebook has been a valuable tool for your event, providing a seamless scheduling experience and eliminating the need for paper programs. We appreciate your support!

 ### 5. Super Resourceful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Love how user friendly it is. Didn't need a tutorial, just was able to understand the menu items on the fly.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Think when the users first started downloading the Guidebook app were having a hard time creating their account. Maybe this is because we had the "invitation only" version so it was a bit tediious explaining how to create an account.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding a platform to host all the events that my organization holds. So having this on one phone application helps a lot.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're glad to hear that you found Guidebook user-friendly and intuitive to use!

 ### 6. Great for Small Yearly Conferences

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara M. | Art Director & Inbound Marketing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Easy of use in building the schedule and speakers' profiles. Ease of use on the consumer end to download the app and get to your published guide. The cost is also low which is great for small events where the number of downloads will be less than 1k.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Recent updates that removed the Multiple Tracks feature, unless you're will to upgrade to the enterprise plan, which is not ideal for companies who host one small event a year.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building and delivering online/app based schedule for conference event.

 ### 7. Event feedback was great, and Guidebook support was great as well

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Support during the event.
Functionality of the App.
User friendly interface for self upates.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

As an administrator / editor, there could be a better way of tracking updates and changes before and during the event.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduced paper consumtion.
Near real time information updates to attendees.
Instant communications to attendees.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> Thank you for your positive feedback! We're glad that Guidebook was able to help reduce paper consumption and provide near real-time information updates and instant communications to your event attendees. We appreciate your suggestion for better tracking updates and changes, and we will certainly look into ways to enhance that aspect.

 ### 8. Guidebook Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

I like that we can customize everything.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Accessing the guide when it's private can cause more issues than we would like.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a place where our attendees can go to get answers to their questions rather than reaching out to us planners directly.

**Official Response from Stewart Price:**

> I'm really pleased you enjoy the customization available, and that the app helps you stop answering the same questions as an organizer. I'm curious as the President here at Guidebook, why you only rated us 3 stars out of 5? We strive to deliver 5 star excellence to all customers, could you share more with me about the privacy issues you encountered? (sprice@guidebook.com)

 ### 9. Helps us immensely at our conferences

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

The ease of use once you're logged in, the social features, and general aesthetic.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Signing up for an event's Guidebook guide is tedious. Too many authentications required, too many emails.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a great place to house all of our content in one easy, convenient place.

 ### 10. Guidebook is AWESOME!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It keeps our events scheduled in an organized fashion. We have many students who utilize the application and this has helped to share information, make edits, and connect with others.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Some of the students had a challenge with assessing the account. Would love to have an alternative where they can sign-in from their laptops or web browsers.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event management and advertising

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're glad to hear that Guidebook has been beneficial for event management and advertising. We'll definitely take your feedback about the sign-in challenge into account as we continue to improve our platform.

 ### 11. Guidebook has been an extremely helpful resource to our staff and students.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madyson C. | Admissions Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It allows our students to have access to a lot of information quickly and easily. They are granted tons and tons of tools right at their fingertips.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I wouldn't say there is many downsides to it, but it definitely takes some getting used to. It takes a little bit of time to understand the in's and out's of it.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's giving us the efficiency needed to execute and host successful events for our incoming students.

 ### 12. Helpful Tool for Secondary School Professional Learning Day

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

The most helpful aspect of the Guidebook is the ability for users to see all the sessions offered during an event and create their own personalized schedule. Another advantage to using the app is the ability to collect data and send messages out in real time.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Some users had difficulty logging in to the app and deciphering the session information. In our post-conference survey, teachers asked for us to provide recommended pathways/sessions/schedules for them in the future.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook helps us share information about the various sessions our conference participants have to choose from and how to locate the rooms for them. If we were to print schedules, it would have been difficult to edit session details or communicate last minute changes/cancellations.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> It's great to hear that Guidebook has been beneficial in sharing session information and facilitating real-time communication. We apologize for any challenges encountered with logging in and understanding session details. Your feedback about providing recommended pathways/sessions/schedules is important to us and will be taken into account for future enhancements.

 ### 13. Easy to learn & make an app for your next event

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Predefined sections that can be added with a few clicks of the mouse.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I would like to have a desktop solution in addition to the mobile app. The app is great for the event itself, but I'd like to be able to use the information I'm putting in to also build a desktop site.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook is out event application providing attendees with schedules and ways to reach out to other attendees and industry providers.

 ### 14. Helpful for large group events

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eryn N. | Student Engagement Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Easily updated, shared, and distributed to users

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The times automatically reset to an hour difference after you edit the dates

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easily accessible schedules

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Guidebook! We're thrilled to hear that it has been easily accessible and beneficial for your events. We apologize for the inconvenience with the times resetting and will investigate this further to ensure a smoother experience for all users.

 ### 15. Simplifying Conference Management with Guidebook

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

As an event administrator organizing our recent conference, I was thrilled with the efficiency and ease of using the Guidebook app. This platform proved to be exceptionally user-friendly, both during setup and in ongoing operation.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

While downloading the app might seem a bit challenging for some users, the inclusion of a QR code on promotional posters made this process much easier. Scanning the QR code with a smartphone immediately directed users to the app download page, simplifying the process significantly. Also depending on the content, takes a bit of space on the phone

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring that the conference agenda, speaker details, and room locations are readily accessible to users.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Guidebook made your conference management more efficient and user-friendly. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that the QR code helped simplify the app download process.

 ### 16. Very User-Friendly App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It was very easy to setup the different tabs and triggers for our annual convention. We had over 800 users all using the app together, and everything went very smoothly. It was easy to make edits on the fly, and the app automatically updates for end users to keep everyone on the same page.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I can't say much about dislikes. It was a little more difficult to setup website access to the same things that the app showed access to, but the user support was very responsive with that.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Guidebook to setup our entire convention schedule, including dates/times/locations, and it's useful for users in the network to be able to contact each other.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're thrilled to hear that you found Guidebook easy to use and that it helped make your annual convention a success! We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that our user support was responsive in helping you with website access. Thank you for choosing Guidebook for your event needs!

 ### 17. A Great Resource for Our Company!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carleen D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It has helped to streamline communication with our attendees at live corporate training events around the country. As the event manager, I feel more connected to groups through the app and I have far less quesitons and concerns coming my way because there's a one-stop place for guests to find the info they need.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There's a bit of a learning curve and getting everyone to use technology is difficult.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has streamlined communication between myself (event manager) and the guests. Instead of sending email updates and a long itinerary with travel and meeting details, we can direct everyone to the app. They now have their informaiton easily accessible on their phones instead of buried in their inboxes.

 ### 18. Guidebook is user friendly!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristina B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

We love the drag & drop features to easlily create a unique experience for our users! It was an affordable option for us to start with and has more than what we need in an event app!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The absolute WORST part is connecting Zapier to be able to create badges. Absolutely terrible. WOULD NOT reccomend at all.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes connecting vendors and attendees so much easier!

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're sorry to hear about the challenges you've experienced with connecting Zapier. We appreciate your feedback and will work to improve this aspect of our service.

 ### 19. Easy to use but somewhat limited

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

I work for an organization that puts on 2 large events every year. This is the first year that we used an app, and we chose Guidebook. It is easy to build in using the preset areas available. It is also easy for users to download and use during the event. It looks good and doesn't have watermarks all over each page, which can be distracting. Overall, implementing the app has been easy and users seem to like it.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

It cannot do everything we had hoped it would be able to do. For example, one of our events is a competition. During the 3-hour competition, we have a large number of 5-minute matches. We want an easy way for coaches and parents to be able to easily filter out their own school and team schedule. We have been working on it, and still haven't been able to get it operating just the way we envision it. But, through it all, customer support has been great! They are very responsive to our emails and concerns, and have tried to help us get to what we need.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook helps us reach our event attendees. We can easily send out important notifications in a timely manner. We can reduce the use of paper materials, such as schedules and maps. We can also make changes to schdules and maps quickly and easily during the event, so that users can always have the most current information in their hands.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with Guidebook! We're thrilled to hear that you find it easy to use and that it has been well-received by your event attendees. We appreciate your feedback on the limitations you've encountered, especially regarding the specific needs of your competition event.

Our team is constantly working on improvements, and we would love to gather more details about your requirements to see how we can better support your needs. Please feel free to reach out to our customer support team, and we'll do our best to assist you further.

We're glad to hear that Guidebook is helping you streamline event communication and reduce paper waste. Thank you for choosing Guidebook for your events!

 ### 20. Great functionality and technical support.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandi T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Intuiative setup. The dashboard is easy to learn and manage.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I wish the web version looked like the app. The web version is much more limited. Attendee that can not download the app or elect not to are limited in the benefits of the platform.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event agenda, location and speaker details. We are also able to highlight our event sponsors.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're glad to hear that you find our functionality and technical support great! We appreciate your feedback about the web version and will take it into consideration for future improvements.

 ### 21. Guidebook is a business essential for us

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

We run anywhere from 3-4 conferences per year, and we've been using Guidebook since I started here (in late 2016) to create each event's mobile guide for our attendees.

I love the amount of documentation explaining how to set up the guide, the quick and thorough customer support if you do have questions, the ease of use on the back end (in setting up the guide - especially the ability to import large amounts of data instead of manually inputting it), the ease of use on the front end (using the guide itself, which is pretty straightforward and intuitive), and just the overall functionality from start to finish.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There are only a few minor things: 1) The inability to link rooms/locations to schedule items via an import "after" you've imported the schedule the first time around (sometimes we don't have that information confirmed at the start, and it's a bummer to have to manually add that later); 2) The inability to manually sort sessions within a time slot (in the schedule section), instead of them being automatically sorted A-Z); and 3) Some of the post-event reporting is a little confusing. But overall, I think it's a highly functional guide, and I've yet to find another I'm comfortable using for our attendees.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook makes it possible to keep your attendees on the right track, communicate changes to them in a timely manner, and basically act as their "one source of info" onsite. Between the mobile guide + the web version of the guide, I am hoping we can eventually do away with printed signs altogether (not there yet, but hoping we will be soon).

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Guidebook has been an essential tool for your conferences, and we appreciate your detailed feedback on what you like best about our platform. We're constantly working to improve our features and functionality, and your input is invaluable to us. Thank you for choosing Guidebook for your events!

 ### 22. Conference Scheduling App

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

The Guidebook app was very easy to use for the attendees. The customer support was excellent. The features were very useful.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The implementation was very tedious as we had our conference system and our program had multiple layers which was not possible directly in the guidebook. However, the guidebook found a way to implement it and made it work.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provide scheduling app for conferences

 ### 23. It is a simple app that is great for our users

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It is easy for our members to navigate. All the features that we need are there. There is not a limit on the number of people that can use the app. It is accesable even after your event is over. Support is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

It can be difficult to find the features that you want to use. The lists are more difficult to customize. There are not a ton of options for different types of lists that you can add. It would be nice if there were some that were made specifically for presenters, FAQs, or other things like that. The process to add the schedule using a spreadsheet isn't convient. It is the same as adding it all manually in the app because you have to tranfer your information to a specific document type to make it work within the app.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us to not have to create paper programs.

 ### 24. Overall Good But Some User Issues

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Easy on the admin end to upload things and make edits.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

People seemed to have issues doing things like accepting attendance manager invites and things like that. Just some glitchy things on the user end.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it incredibly easy to get hundreds of events on a schedule quickly.

 ### 25. Guidebook works well for organizing and running a 2 day program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

The ability to make changes during the program to update paricipants.
The ability to send out messages to program participants during the event to ensure changes are known. Really good customer service, very responsive to questions.
It is pretty easy to set up and run, especially after completing the initial set up.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Depending on how a contract is set up, you may need to set up groups to utilize guidebook for multiple events in the same year. We run multiple iterations of the same program, so to avoid communications to previous participants, we have to break out new participants into groups.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook allows us to upload and change documents and information in real time in the system. That helps us to avoid costly printing and updating. It also allows us to be nimble and change if we have volunteer cancellations or need to make updates to our program.

 ### 26. Excellent user-friendly product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is easily accessible to guests looking to understand the experience they're a part of. As a builder of programs, Guidebook also has a very user-friendly interface that makes it easier to build schedules in a manner that looks good and is easily digestible to guests. It is easy to implement and integrate within our program, orientation for college students, and we use it across the entire summer as well as other events.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Not many downsides! Getting used to how the platform works has a small adjustment period, but that's it really.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook helps our event attendees easily access their schedule without us having to spend money on paper products that will either be thrown away, or not be very adaptive to sudden changes. Having this electronic interface also makes it easier to get quick announcements out to our guests about potential changes in the schedule.

The input data (emails) of users, often takes a long time and several steps. I hope there is a helpful user friendly option in the future (upload)

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching out to students within mass--with trying to connect with over 200 students at a time, it is very beneficial.

 ### 28. User friendly and hits all the marks!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittney D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Super easy to set up a guide. It is a very user-friendly platform, even with no app or website build experience. I love that you can preview all the updates as you make them and get a user perspective to tweak things. Customizable in so many ways.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I don't have any downsides or dislikes thus far!

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The app is a single purchase price vs. pay per use/downloads which can be costly with large groups. It's easy to upload an agenda, interactive maps and links to live docs. I'm sure I can get more out of it by interfacing with Cvent but I have not tried that yet.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is a template-based program so customizations are pretty limited. This goes for features, branding, and user experience items, specifically.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a custom app that can be launched quickly and efficiently.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're glad to hear that Guidebook is helping you create custom apps quickly and efficiently. We strive to provide a user-friendly platform for app building and will continue to work on improving our features and branding options.

It can be a little tedious uploading things individually, but it's at least easy to do.

No dislike. Guidebook is really to be used by a novice users in building our own application. No complicated code writing needed with this platform.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook solves issues that I need with event that I planning. I can manage all the details and registration process by building an application for users to use.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Having your guide nested inside the Guidebook environment can be confusing for attendees when it comes time for them to find/download the guide.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Some of the modules aren't the most intuitive at first.

Connecting with event attendees.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Guidebook easy to navigate and use for both the builder and the attendee. We appreciate your feedback about the modules, and we're constantly working to improve the user experience.

 ### 35. User Friendly with Great Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is incredibly user friendly. It was very easy to set up and even easier to make quick updates when event details changed last-minute. My team acclimated quickly in the integration and the meeting attendees who used the app during the conference said it was a great resource. Customer support was also fabulous and checked in often with me to see if I had any questions and how things were going. We used the app frequently to send push notifications during the event and loved how many features we could implement!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The only thing about Guidebook that was hard really fell on getting our attendees to use it, especially those in the older age demographics– another "app" was a little intimidating to them, but once we got everyone set up most people acclimated quickly.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our events consist of anywhere from 600-1000 attendees, and Guidebook first and foremost helped us save so much paper and printing costs! It was very easy to make changes and send our attendees notifications as things changed or were updated last minute so we didn't have to interrupt the conference to make announcements. We have several presentations happening at once, so it was also helpful to update attendees on any location or time changes.

 ### 36. Love guidebook, excellent service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

User friendly and accessible. Our members raved about it.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I wish we could pick and choose upgrades. It's to expensive to upgrade to everything but there are some features we'd love to pay for.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is helping us keep everyone informed and connected.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We're so happy to hear that you love Guidebook and that it has been user-friendly and accessible for your members. We appreciate your feedback about the upgrade options, and we will definitely take that into consideration for future improvements. It's great to hear that Guidebook is helping you keep everyone informed and connected.

 ### 37. Delegation of Senior Executives depended on this app for their 2.5 day trip to another city.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

The customer support team was great when we ran into problems. I thoroughly appreciate that group helping us make this app all it could be.

Our app sponsor thought this was a great use of their investment and commented on how professional it all looked.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The uploads were fairly rigid and we needed to heavily reformat our registration info so that it could be uploaded in ways that the app could handle.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to have our delegates have a single source of info for this event and this is a great first line of defense for any questions our large group needed to have answered.

Our staff is able to quickly and easily update information on the go. As much as we plan out this trip we are always needing to make last minute adjustments and the ability for anyone on our staff to send push notifications on any changes from anywhere was huge benefit for our group.

 ### 38. Some growing pains, but a good experience over all!

Personalized scheduling.

Attendance keeping.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We're thrilled to hear that you found the attendance tool incredible for your events. **What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Setting up the menu items are diffcicult sometimes. List views, etc

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eliminating the need to print out our program and signage. Also more places to add sponsors.

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> It's great to hear that Guidebook is helping you reduce the need for printed materials and providing more opportunities for sponsor visibility.

 ### 40. Reliable App, Unreliable Customer Service, Some Features Need Improving

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

We used Guidebook for a very large education conference. Other apps we have used in the past tended to glitch in various ways during the conference...especially when a large number of participants were using it at one time. Guidebook worked flawlessly during the conference. Attendees never had a problem accessing the sessions once they were logged into the app. Getting people to download and access the app was a bit of a challenge, but once they were in it, they found it to be very user-friendly. We loved that we were able to use OpenWater to collect session proposals, review them, and schedule them and then those sessions were able to be seamlessly transferred into Guidebook by the OpenWater team. It is mainly because of this partnership that we will continue to use Guidebook for future conferences.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I would say the least helpful aspect was the customer service team. Since we were new to the app, we had a lot of questions and the only way to contact customer service was to email them. Sometimes they replied quickly and sometimes it took several hours or a couple of days to get a reply. Some of the representatives were not very friendly or helpful. Because we had issues with other apps glitching at previous conferences, we requested to have a dedicated customer service support person that could come to the conference but that was denied. We then requested to have a direct phone line to a representative that we could contact at any time during the conference in case something went wrong and that was also denied, even though we were willing to pay a substantial amount of money for the extra support. Thank goodness, once the conference started the app worked great and we did not need the support, but it would have made us feel more comfortable to have it as an option.
There are also several improvements to the app and webpage that would greatly improve the app. We scan participants into sessions to keep up with their attendance, but this could not be done if the participant did not download the app to their phone and log in to it. Some participants had a very difficult time signing into the app due to the type of phone they had. To log in they had to go from the app to their email and click a link--sometimes more than once--in order to log into the app. Some phones tried to open the link using the phone's browser instead of the app and it would not work. We had to set up computers at the conference to allow some people to log into their online Guidebook account so that we could give them attendance credit because we could not even manually give participants credit for attending a session if they were not able to log in using the app.
Other apps we have used allowed us to download a QR code for each participant and put that QR code on the participant badges and then we could just scan the badge. That way a person did not have to have the app downloaded in order to receive credit. We wish that Guidebook had this as an option as this was definitely the biggest complaint from our participants. Also, if the app was updating when they opened it, they had to wait for the update to go through to get to their QR code to be scanned. Most of the time this did not take long, but for some, it took longer--again, due to the type of phone they had. This was very frustrating for some users.
We also wish that Guidebook had the ability to create certificates of attendance for participants after the conference. We had to figure out a way to do this on our own when other apps we have used in the past did this for us.
Finally, when pulling feedback for the sessions, it would be great if the feedback was organized by session title and not by the person who gave the feedback. In order for us to provide feedback to each presenter regarding their session, we had to do quite a bit of manual data manipulation that should have been unnecessary.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed participants to see the schedule in the app, create their own schedule, and scan into sessions so that we could keep attendance. Also, a huge selling point for us was their integration with OpenWater, so that when we made a change to a session in OpenWater, it immediately integrated into Guidebook.

**Official Response from Kai Des Etages:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback Amanda. At Guidebook, we take customer service extremely seriously and strive for speedy response times. We took a look through your specific support interactions, and from what we can see our team was very quick with responses. We can see that one response took our developers a day to respond; however, that issue required investigation and escalation. Can you tell us more about where the response times were lacking? We're deeply apologetic for any unfriendly tone you encountered with the team - we have always strived to provide a warm environment and have already passed this feedback on to the team.

As your event timelines overlapped with our standard support hours, we knew that you'd be able to receive near-immediate support should anything arise. This is why we didn’t want to charge you for a dedicated customer service representative. It's always our preference to try to save money for our customers when we can.

 ### 41. Easy, Flexible, and Powerful Mobile App Solution!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook is an easy, flexibile, yet powerful mobile tool that was masterful in helping us to bring our New Student Orientation program to life at our institution. We needed to quickly build an orientation event schedule that we could quickly launch and distribute to over 900 students in our incoming class. We achieved an 88% adoption rate - and our students loved that they didn't have to carry a paper schedule with them during Orientation. Building the app was easy and deploying the guide was even easier! The features included with our guide were a lifesaver. From building our interactive campus map and staff directory to real-time messaging and analytics - it was awesome! I would 100% recommend this solution to anyone.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

The only downside I experienced was that a general user needed to be logged into an account to receive the push notifications. Otherwise, every other aspect of the guide and app was great!

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Guidebook saved us almost $2,000 in printing and duplication costs. More importantly, when an event or any other aspect of the program needed to change, we could quickly update this on the guide and send a message. Guidebook saved us time and provided a great solution to help interact with and onboard our new students in a seamless and meaningful way.

 ### 42. Easy to use app builder for events & initiatives

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryttani B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Our institution needed an immediate fix to disseminate accurate information to our guests for one of our biggest events of the year. Guidebook has allowed us to better communicate and share information with our attendees, gather data and make on-the-go changes with no fuss. We had a custom app built for our school, and it has been more popular than our official university app because the user experience is much more intuitive. Our biggest win is the amount of money we have saved on print materials. Our sales and customer success rep have been helpful throughout our implementation and continue to be good stewards of the product when updates and enhancements occur.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Due to the increased popularity with higher education institutions, Guidebook should consider building an API connection or integration with Slate CRM.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook is allowing us to better and more accurately communicate with our guests. Additionally, the added savings from not having to create and print materials is an amazing addition to our budget and day of organizing.

 ### 43. Easy, user-friendly product for writers & great interface for users!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

In using Guidebook for the first time, I felt like it was super easy to build multiple schedules for non-familiar users to be able to understand all of the events we had going on. Our university uses it for a number of offices, events, and programs. Even for larger programs, such as having 25 different orientation programs, we found that it was still very helpful. Integrating Excel was very helpful and it gives you detailed examples and instructions for how to build the schedule, making it easier on me to do so. We use Guidebook a lot for how easy it is to use, and how nice the features look!

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There really isn't much to say here about what we dislike. As the primary user, I think getting an initial grasp of the hub is a little wonky, but once you understand it and figure it out, it's smooth sailing from there. I personally have never had an issue with Guidebook.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook is solving the issue of unclear or thick schedules. Sometimes, it's hard to remember where you want to go or what is going on, especially when you don't have a hard copy. Being able to have an accessible option that also allows you to make your own schedule puts power into the users for events, which is great. This is a benefit to our office because we can provide a multitude of options to our participants and know that they will be able to access and see everything that we have for them.

 ### 44. Great event app

Having a mobile app

**Official Response from Nathan Meyer:**

> We appreciate your positive feedback on the personalized schedules and map feature. We apologize for the missed notifications and will strive to ensure a more consistent experience for you and your attendees in the future.

 ### 45. Excellent application builder

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Event registration and exporting bulk users details has some challenges and keep showing error. Other than that, I am happy with the platform.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Nothing about the guidebook, I'm just old school and want a book in my hand.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving trees. I'd prefer a book but I do see that I have access to the information sooner.

 ### 47. Great addition to our programme.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

Guidebook has been a really valuable addition to our programme. Students find it easy and convinient to use. They have update programme information and a personalised schedule in their pocket. The support staff have also been very helpful throughout setting it up.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

There have been some minor glitches to using features such as the personalised schedule and bulk uploading. I've noticed that things are always improving though, which is helpful and good to see.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook allows us to provide up-to-date programme information to students throughout their two-week summer school. We used to provide paper timetables, but now students can access their class information from their phones. It's been a great addition to the programme and we've received some really positive feedback from using it.

Setting up our guidebook was incredibly straightforward. There was no guesswork; everything was where you would expect it to be and functioned as it should. I have one need for customer support and the chat support feature was able to point me to the article that answered my question efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

I would like to see the ability to test notifications and delete notifications in future versions.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guidebook allows us to provide schedules locations, and maps of out expo and all breakout sessions.

 ### 50. Works well for hosting events, flexible and customizable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Guidebook?**

It's worked well so far with my institution. When we have large events with a lot of moving parts, tight schedules, and last-minute changes, having the app is nice. Students tend to be tech-savvy and are able to navigate easily through all the app features.

**What do you dislike about Guidebook?**

Some of our student users have struggled getting notifications from the app. I also wish it was possible to incorporate more photos.

**What problems is Guidebook solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the problem of estimating cost for paper materials (and their unsustainability for the environment). Allows for last-minute changes (cancelled classes, venue shifts, general updates and reminders). Also great that it's customizable for different populations - have had issues in the past with the wrong schedule getting to a student
