I liked that they serviced the Chicago area and their website is very similar to Seamless. I also liked that it had a first time user discount so I was able to receive $12 off my first order. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I didn't like that GrubHub didn't specify that the $12 off is after you make a purchase of $15 before taxes. It was a bit misleading. Aside from that I also didn't like that not too many restaurants partner with Grubhub in my area or if they do, they charge a delivery fee that is higher than other competitors in the market. Early in the pandemic, I liked the software - it was easy to use, customer service was decent, lots of options. Things changed in mid 2021, they lost a ot of restaurants. The software worsened - they pushed choices on me that delayed me finding my chosen restaurants. The credit card option kept getting glitchy and switching my choices. Customer service tanked. What I dislike about GrubHub is the reputation that they are gouging small mom and pop restaurants who are struggling to stay afloat, taking away a large percentage of the sales leaving little left behind for the restaurant itself. I'm not sure exactly how this works and what the actual numbers are, however, it is a disfavorable reputation for the company to have and I do order directly from the restaurant whenever possible to avoid them having to pay the fees.
