**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 2. GroupMe Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tatyana D. | C, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

I like that groupme has been used as a platform to communicate with your peers without giving out your personal phone number. This initially is the first ever slack

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

There was not a lot that I did not like about Groupme. If I had to choose something, it would be that if the group was private and you needed to add someone to the group, you couldn't unless you were the admin.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved the issue of not giving out my number to various people throughout the company. It allowed me to set boundaries within my role and have people contact me through group me.

  ### 3. Great way to socialize and plan group activities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

takes up extra space and storage on my phone

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

/group projects and/or giant group activities socializing

  ### 4. Great for Classmates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa K. | Director of Institutional Communications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

I like that messages can stay in the app or they can be sent as text messages so that people do not have to download the app if they do not want to. Instead of collecting all of my adult classmates' cellphone numbers, we can all sign into the app and create a group to communicate. It is also helpful in group work so that everyone in the group can send quick questions and messages to each other.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

I dislike that I can't remove a group easily. When a class is over, I should be able to remove myself easily from that group so that I no longer receive messages. I do not see that option easily on the app.

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

It is free and it is easy to use for quick messaging.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick communication is much easier with GroupMe. There's no need to be part of a group text or a long string of emails if you are just communicating quickly.

  ### 5. Easy to use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

The app is intuitive and easy to use. It is a good solution for group communication.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

Sometimes sending bigger files (for example videos) fails.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication between teammates

  ### 6. GroupMe for work usage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2021

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

The fact that someone can use GroupMe on a daily to keep everyone on the same page. Changes happen when employees are off, and this is a great tool to use so that no one is in the dark about any issues.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

Sometimes the employees have a hard time seeing messages if they have changed or upgraded their phones.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The fact that someone can use GroupMe daily to keep everyone on the same page. Changes happen when employees are off, and this is a great tool to use so that no one is in the dark about any issues.

  ### 7. Good, but could be great!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2021

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

GroupMe does a great job at being a messaging app, love the ease of communication and setting up rooms.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

Emojis are subpar, considering it being a messaging app..Also it's not easy to delete a group no longer being used. Also, a couple of our rooms got hacked into so didn't feel all that great from a security standpoint.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for large teams to all be together.

  ### 8. GroupMe essential for Teamwork

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kendra H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2020

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

GroupMe is one of my favorite applications to keep in touch with others whether it be for work, school, networking, or personal matters. I love that you can create multiple groups with different people and customize the group's name and photo which helps distinguish them from one another in the general chat area. Moreover, within these groups, you can "heart" a comment you like or support that someone else has made and you can also post photos from your photo library, send your location, send alternative media such as gifs, create and send calendar events, and create a quick and easy poll. Furthermore, one of their newer additions was integrating skype - so now you can do a skype video or call with the individual or group of your choosing. I also love that if you hook up your contacts to the application, you are able to see who is already using groupme and who you can invite to use the application should you need to do so. This makes it easier especially when trying to communicate with large groups. Additionally, if you are not already contacts with someone then you can simply scan their QR code and they will be added to your phone contacts and to your groupme contacts.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

It can be quite annoying when you have multiple groupme conversations occurring and they are constantly going off on your phone- you can go in and turn off the notifications in settings but you have to do this for each group individually which can be quite tasking depending on how many you have.

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

Great application ! Highly recommend.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This application is best for collaborating with others and is has been key in getting my work done. I think it has a vide variety of applications and would benefit anyone who used it.

  ### 9. Group me group chat

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

It is very similar to a text style group chat

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

There isn't really much setting it apart

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

Not much use it for entry level communications

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping in touch with the team with quick messages and notifications

  ### 10. Decent group messaging solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2021

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

Convenient for folks to create accounts without additional logins

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

Unable to search within messages. Huge shortcoming... search function only looks at chat titles

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

Not sure of any better free resources

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

50% teleworking due to COVID.

  ### 11. Good for universal group communication - apple, android, etc

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gracen M. | Research Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2020

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

The most helpful part about GroupMe is the adaptability for all types of phone, whereas group messages on iPhone is strict to that of iPhone.

Additionally, they recently added a feature in which you can search old messages by keywords, which made GroupMe more on the same level as Apple.

The feature of scanning a QR code to add contacts is also really helpful.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

I don't like that when you mute a conversation, everyone else in the chat can see that you have muted it. It would be nice if this feature was more discrete.

I appreciate the "like" feature, but it would be nice if there were more reaction options (dislike, laugh, etc.)

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

It is a lot more professional than using iPhone group message - however, it has the intuitive features of Apple that other messaging softwares don't have. Be careful about putting yourself on mute, because your group will receive this information (awkward)

GroupMe is an inexpensive way to facilitate messaging within a company, educational group, or social group. It is particularly helpful with large organizations that have sub-organizations.

I use GroupMe for my sorority, and it makes it very convenient to break the group up and assign members to other committees.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GroupMe primarily for school, organizations, or employment.
In particular, I use GroupMe in my sorority nearly everyday. It's really helpful for my sorority because it allows us to break into committees, and invite people to join committees within the larger group message.
It feels more professional, and less personal, to communicate via group me rather than texting, which I think is one of the main benefits, especially when using it for employment.

  ### 12. Great for group chatting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2020

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

I am able to get a message out to everyone in my team in real time and get real time responses. I can also have break off conversations when needed. This app allows multiple users to interact to one time vs sending the same message to multiple people. It is a great interactive tool for teams that are on the go or often not in the same vicinity.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

The system can freeze from time to time, but exiting the app and reopening usually fixes the issue. Other than this the app works exactly as describes with minimal problems and issues.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this app to keep everyone in the team in the loop of where we are throughout the day. My position requires me to go to different facilities and agencies. Everyone is able to post their whereabouts and ask questions for when they're in meetings /hearings and need stats asap.

  ### 13. Review for Group me

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pranalee A. | Consumer Insights Analyst Intern, Market Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2019

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

The speed of the app is great and it really saves time especially in a world where everyone is busy. It is very easy to create a group on the app and connect with a number of people at the same time. The app is also highly interactive, it is easy to send photos and chat with people simultaneously.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

The only feature that would be disliked sometimes is that everyone is able to see the messages on a group me. Sending a video to people is sometimes a task. The color scheme used in the app is dull and boring I think vibrant colors would be better so that it becomes distinct.

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

I would highly recommend this and I really love the calendar feature of the app.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very useful in sending group messages and connecting to people. We can also send invitations to meetings through the app.

  ### 14. Easy Large Group Messaging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon B. | Student Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2019

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

I use GroupMe for messaging with my volunteer teams at my organization. We use it to communicate important information, share encouragement, and just stay connected. It is extremely simple to set up and is completely free.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

Every once in awhile it doesn't alert me when someone has sent messages. But for the most part it is a great product.

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating via text instead of email for short, quick needs.

  ### 15. Helps me communicate with coworkers and great for top-down communication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2019

**What do you like best about GroupMe?**

GroupMe is an easy application to download and use to connect with coworkers and management when other direct forms of communication (e.g. tracking down everyone's individual phone numbers or emails) are difficult. You can connect to anyone that has the app, and you can start multiple group messages with different themes. For example, this app is very helpful at restaurants. My management has one message with all employees in it where they can tell us what's going on with promotions, etc., and only servers are in another group message where we can trade shifts, etc. I've also used it outside of restaurants in communicating with coworkers internationally when traveling for events.

**What do you dislike about GroupMe?**

Sometimes the user interface gets a little tricky to navigate. For instance, I know I've had problems with figuring out how to mute certain conversations without muting all conversations. I have also had issues with spam messages from hacked users that I've had to ignore, and perhaps GroupMe could look into that issue to help users to stop getting hacked.

**Recommendations to others considering GroupMe:**

Great free application for employees to communicate

**What problems is GroupMe solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Open communication with management and employees, communicate with people whose numbers you don't have, and have everyone on the same page when it comes to events and promotions
