Grongy AI is an academic writing workspace for students and researchers working on theses, dissertations, literature reviews, and research papers. It combines literature search, source management, outlining, and drafting in a single document, so decisions made early in a project stay connected to the text written later. Source search covers more than 250 million scholarly records through OpenAlex, Crossref, DOAJ, PubMed, arXiv, and Unpaywall. Users save records to a project library, upload their own PDFs, read full text in the app, and keep page-located notes beside the passages they intend to cite. Existing libraries can be imported from Zotero or Mendeley via BibTeX and RIS. The outline tool turns a topic and research question into an editable chapter and subsection plan. Drafting then proceeds section by section, drawing on the sources in the user's own library rather than on model memory. Claims that no saved source supports are left uncited rather than attached to an invented reference. A built-in citation checker compares the wording of each claim against the source behind it. Where a paper supports a narrower statement than the sentence makes, the mismatch is flagged for revision instead of passing silently into the draft. For longer projects, a thesis memory keeps key terms, decisions, and open questions linked across chapters, so later sections do not contradict earlier ones. Users select the underlying model per task and switch as the work moves between drafting, editing, and research questions. Finished documents export to Word, PDF, LaTeX, and Markdown using the publication metadata saved in the project.
