It is an extremely lightweight app. It only takes up around 4.70MB on your hard drive. It is unobtrusive, meaning, it runs in the background when you need it, and does not reveal itself otherwise. Some other apps constantly popup reminders to use their software. The obfuscate option is probably it's most powerful tool. Rather than having to get out GIMP or Adobe Photoshop, I can use this app to obfuscate sensitive information that I am going to be sharing with others.

Greenshot makes taking and sharing screenshots a breeze! I love how you can quickly send your screenshot to imgur and share it anywhere. You don't even have to have an account. Greenshot not only manages screenshots, it also allows you to edit and annotate them. The great advantage of the software is that it was designed for the use of those who need to annotate, highlight, point and explain photos and screenshots and does it very well.

Each tool is already readily configured for what is needed when annotating an image, the highlighting tool already has the necessary transparency, the arrows are easily accessible and the text boxes already slightly blur the background to become legible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It does screenshots and saves them in a folder with the format I want and that format can be easily changeable with any pattern needed using regular expressions. So when I'm saving screenshots that detail the network configuration of a site it can be named as {date}_{client}_{device}_{number} and saved in the format I need, usually jpg to save space. On top of that I can use this on every Windows machine without needing a License or login in into an account and easily configure a custom key to take screenshots, sometimes I use this inside a VM or into a remote server to keep the screenshot files where they are supposed to be inside the machine for future reference and using greenshot directly on the target machine is an step that saves me a lot of headache.
