## Greenhouse Reviews
 ### 1. Streamlined Candidate Management and Seamless Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kherissa M. | Human Resources Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I appreciate that Greenhouse is pretty customizable to what we need for our organization specifically. It has been super helpful in having external and internal job posting boards, allowing internal candidates from our organization to apply easily and enabling us to post jobs externally to gather candidates from a variety of platforms. The initial setup was one of the smoothest experiences I've had with HR products. Greenhouse provided a really great checklist to follow and had implementation meetings where we could walk through step by step any issues or things we wanted to implement.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I think that the interview scheduling can be a lot cleaner and work more like Calendly, where interviews can be scheduled automatically when a candidate selects a time that works for both the interviewer and the interviewee. Some of the reporting features, while robust, could be easier to work with.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse has been super helpful with external and internal job posting boards, allowing us to easily apply internally and post externally to gather candidates from different platforms. The auto-tag/reject features are extremely helpful as well as the sorting enabling us to filter through and find qualified candidates easily.

 ### 2. Amazing First Year Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse is an incredible platform that allows for seamless communication with candidates, amongst internal team members and scheduling interviews. The platform has met our agency’s needs thus far and has a lot of functionalities that are an added benefit to our recruitment process. The implementation process requires a lot of dedicated time working in the platform but it truly prepares you to be ready to go live on day one. Their customer support is always available and is great at resolving any issues.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

There is very little that we dislike about Greenhouse at this time, but it is a big learning curve if you have never used this kind of ATS before. There is a lot of testing of the system to make sure everything is functioning how you need it to. It integrates well with our job boards, but one in particular is Handshake where we cannot integrate it without paying for the package within Handshake. Unfortunately, due to the cost of both Greenhouse and what the package would cost with Handshake, we have to manually post our positions to Handshake, but can provide the direct URL so we can track who is applying from that site in Greenhouse.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse has been able to streamline our communication with candidates as well as provide a central hub for our internal recruitment team. It has allowed us to easily post positions on various job boards and track application sources. The platform has also increased our ability to report on our recruitment efforts and help us create and manage department and agency goals.

 ### 3. Customizable Yet Challenging Recruitment Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like how Greenhouse offers better organization and tracking for our recruiting process. It simplifies posting jobs and has an easy interview scheduling process and scorecard process. The customization is what I like best about Greenhouse. I can make templates for emails, offer letters, offer packets, interview setups, scorecard setups, and job creation. This flexibility ensures the system works for us even as our needs change. Additionally, we've never had any issues with Greenhouse and have never considered moving off of it, which speaks to its reliability.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

There is a bit of a learning curve with the system if you're not already familiar. Because it's so customizable there are a lot of settings and capabilities, but you kind of have to know they exist. It's not always the most intuitive.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Greenhouse improves organization, tracks and posts jobs, and simplifies interview scheduling and scorecards. The customization lets us create templates for emails, offers, and interviews, adapting as we change.

 ### 4. Seamless Candidate Management, Slight Integration Glitches

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samara C. | Limited Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like how easy Greenhouse is to use for interviewers and hiring managers. Moving candidates through the process is pretty simple and easy. I also like that it hasn't changed too much over the years, making it easy for me to use even after ten years. That ease of use is one of my favorite things about Greenhouse.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I think sometimes the integrations aren't as ideal, and we're not able to pull as much information as we want from the tool. So our analytics team has some frustrations there. I do think the new user interface was a big change, so I think that was really tough when they make changes they recently made a bigger change than some of the smaller ones that we got used to.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse simplifies tracking interview scorecards and moving candidates through the interview process. We can do structured interviewing and hire directly to roles, improving compliance. Its integrations make it a one-stop shop for our candidate database needs.

 ### 5. Exceptional ATS for Structured, Collaborative Hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizaveta K. | Freelance Human Resources Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse is very strong as an ATS and works well for structured hiring. It makes it easy to collaborate with hiring managers, track candidates, and keep the process organized. The interview planning, scorecards, and reporting are especially helpful, and it supports more thoughtful, consistent hiring decisions.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

The system can feel complex and a bit heavy, especially for smaller teams or fast moving roles. Some workflows require a lot of clicks, and certain changes are not very intuitive.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helps bring structure and consistency to the hiring process. It keeps all candidates, feedback, and interview stages in one place, which makes collaboration with hiring managers much easier. Because of that, we have better visibility into the pipeline, fewer things fall through the cracks, and hiring decisions feel more organized and data driven.

 ### 6. Good Customization but Complex Setup

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corina C.

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like the ability to customize scorecards per role and interviewer in Greenhouse. I also appreciate being able to ask role-specific questions and have them already inputted, so I don't have to copy and paste every time. It's helpful to track what questions hiring managers ask in their interviews.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I don't like not being able to view jobs by the hiring manager. In Lever, it was easy for me to visually sort all my jobs by the hiring manager, so when I did my check-ins, I could pull up all the jobs in one click and go through the pipelines. The implementation and setup process was long and much more complicated than Lever. It took a couple of months to set everything up with our CSM.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse for tracking all applications, storing scorecards, tracking candidate interview processes, and creating and sending offers. The ability to customize scorecards per role and interviewer helps me with role-specific questions, reducing repetitive tasks.

 ### 7. Powerful, Scalable ATS for Structured, Data-Driven Hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse is a powerful and thoughtfully designed applicant tracking system that truly shines when it comes to structured, scalable hiring. Its interview scorecards, hiring workflows, and reporting tools make it easy to run fair, consistent, and data-driven recruiting processes. The platform integrates smoothly with a wide range of HR tools, and its API and automation options are especially strong for growing or enterprise teams.

The user interface is clean and intuitive for recruiters and hiring managers, and Greenhouse does a great job promoting best practices in inclusive and collaborative hiring. Features like interview kits, structured feedback, and DE&I reporting help teams stay aligned and reduce bias. Overall, Greenhouse is an excellent choice for companies that take hiring seriously and want a robust, long-term ATS solution.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse can feel overly complex and rigid, especially for smaller teams or companies with simpler hiring needs. The setup and customization process is time-consuming, and many workflows feel locked into Greenhouse’s “approved” way of hiring, which can be frustrating if your team prefers flexibility. Common changes often require admin access or workarounds that slow things down.

The user experience for candidates and hiring managers can also feel clunky at times, with too many clicks and notifications. Reporting, while powerful, isn’t always intuitive and often requires significant configuration to get meaningful insights. On top of that, Greenhouse is expensive compared to many ATS alternatives, making it hard to justify for organizations that don’t fully use its advanced features.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helps recruiters manage the full applicant lifecycle — from initial application to offer and onboarding — in a centralized system rather than spreadsheets or email threads. It keeps applicant data, statuses, and feedback all in one place to avoid chaos and information silos.

 ### 8. Intuitive, Well-Structured Hiring Workflow That Keeps Everyone Aligned

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

What I like most about Greenhouse is how intuitive and well-structured the platform is. It makes the hiring process clear and organized without feeling rigid, which helps both recruiters and candidates stay aligned. I also appreciate how easy it is to track each stage of the process and collaborate with different stakeholders, all in one place. Overall, it feels like a tool designed to support real workflows, not just enforce process.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

One thing I dislike is that some parts of the interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for users who don’t work with the tool on a daily basis. There are also moments where certain actions require more clicks than expected, which can slow things down slightly. While nothing is a major blocker, there’s room to make some workflows more streamlined and user-friendly.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helps solve the complexity of managing the full hiring process in a structured and transparent way. For our team, this means we can track candidates through every stage, maintain consistent communication, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. It also centralizes feedback from different interviewers, making decision-making faster and more data-driven. The biggest benefit is that it reduces manual coordination and errors, allowing us to focus on evaluating talent rather than chasing spreadsheets or emails.

 ### 9. Customizable and Intuitive Recruiting Solution with a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenden M.

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I use Greenhouse primarily for both external and internal recruiting. It helps us streamline our job postings and provides more access to the candidates we are searching for, along with reporting capabilities that go beyond typical expectations in an ATS. I love how customizable and intuitive it is. Despite our company's industry not being unique, the way we do business is, and Greenhouse allows us to create postings and add custom data that’s unique and important to us. Even out of the box, it gets new users up and running quickly, and they offer a simple way to add our own unique questions and workflows without over-complicating things. They also provide a very detailed step-by-step guide to help set up the account. I appreciate that support through a dedicated representative who reviews my setup weekly.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

There's only a couple things that come to mind. 1) There is a bit of a learning curve. Some of the features can be a bit confusing for people who aren't too familiar with the system yet. 2) Where there are a decent amount of customizable features, I could see some companies feeling limited who want to really have full control over every little feature/display, etc.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse streamlines our job postings, expands our candidate access, and offers advanced reporting capabilities.

 ### 10. Greenhouse has been an upgrade but there is always room for improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like the built-in DEI/reduced-bias efforts and organization. Library/resources are nice.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Pulling the metrics we need hasn't been as clear or simple as I expected and I don't understand the reasons why. Filtering through candidates also isn't as great as I'd hoped.

Navigating through the application isn't intuitive for most of our employees.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing/housing our applicants, how we plan our interviews and the built-in DEI/reduced bias efforts.

 ### 11. Effortless Hiring and Seamless Collaboration with Greenhouse

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gagan P. | People Ops Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse makes hiring less of a circus act. The interface is clean, automations save a ton of time, and collaboration between recruiters and managers actually works smoothly. It’s like someone finally built an ATS that doesn’t hate its users.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse can feel a bit too structured. Customization is limited, reporting can be clunky unless you’re a spreadsheet wizard, and integrations occasionally throw tantrums. It’s powerful, but you’ll probably need patience and coffee to make it bend to your workflow.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse takes the chaos out of hiring. It centralizes everything—job postings, interview scheduling, candidate feedback—so you’re not chasing updates across a dozen tabs. The structured hiring workflows keep interviews consistent and fair, while analytics help spot bottlenecks before they waste weeks. In short, it saves time, keeps everyone aligned, and stops recruiting from feeling like a group project gone wrong.

 ### 12. There's better products out there

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eloise O. | People & Talent Advisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like the 'filter talent' search feature for when reviewing CVs specifically looking for a certain tech stack/experience

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I still believe the platform could be more intuitive & easier for Hiring Managers to use, or provide more training resources that we could give to them

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It tracks all of my communications with applicants, helps us post job ads without me having to go directly to Linkedin to do so, creates offer documents and starts the onboarding process for us - this helps us by streamlining the whole process

 ### 13. Streamlined Hiring with Customizable Templates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like the templates that Greenhouse allows you to use, so that you do not have to rewrite communications for every search. I also find the initial setup of Greenhouse very simple and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I would love if Greenhouse had an integration with our HRIS. It would be great if once an individual is hired in Greenhouse, their information could automatically be transferred into ADP Workforce Now, and alleviate some of the administrative burden.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse to store resumes, schedule interviews, and communicate with candidates and the team. It includes templates for communication, saving me time rewriting messages for each search.

 ### 14. Fantastic ATS with Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole F. | Senior Talent Acquisition Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

The system is incredibly user-friendly and highly customizable, making it easy to tailor it to our specific hiring needs. It has greatly streamlined our recruitment process, from posting jobs to managing candidates, all in one seamless platform.

The implementation team was phenomenal – they provided expert guidance every step of the way and were always available to help with any questions or challenges. Their support made the transition smooth and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

There are a few quirks that can be a bit frustrating. For example, Hiring Managers can't set themselves as the Hiring Manager for Offer Approval purposes when submitting a job. This requires a bit of a workaround, which adds extra steps to what should be a simple process.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It centralizes and streamlines all aspects of hiring, from job postings to interview scheduling and candidate management, making the entire workflow much more efficient. Additionally, its customizable features allow us to tailor workflows to fit our exact needs, improving team collaboration and ensuring that we follow consistent hiring practices.

 ### 15. Great sales process, robust ATS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirsten G. | Technical Sourcing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

It can do so much! I love the CRM, though we are still learning how to use it. The customer support is fantastic. There is a chat option for instant help (and it's excellent help), a feature to open a ticket, and/or opportunities for scheduling meetings with support if a deeper dive or assistance is needed. It's also swift and easy to make updates, once you get the hang of it! Learning the ropes and the cadence of how something works will allow more features to be used. I use it constantly, to open jobs, source for candidates, interview candidates, and it has a very clean and understandable interface.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

It's not unhelpful, it's just huge, and it takes a long time to learn. The only thing missing is the ability to reply directly from Greenhouse. I need to work in my inbox and export emails. However, that allows our email domain to match, so the experience is seamless for candidates.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to import candidate profiles directly to our CRM is a huge timesaver! I also like that we can make so many candidate pools and easily move candidates from pool to pool. And the Events App is fantastic! No more manually scanning resumes, which is brilliant. At busy career fairs, I almost need 12 iPads to keep up! But it's a cool feature that is very fun to use and saves so much time after the fact. I highly recommend using the Events App if you attend high-traffic candidate events.

 ### 16. Organized and Functional Recruiting Platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** hamza k. | System Administration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse offers a clean and organized interface that makes it easy to track candidates throughout the hiring process. The structured interview workflows and automated reminders help keep everything consistent across teams. It’s also convenient that hiring managers and recruiters can collaborate within the same platform.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Some features can feel a bit complex at first, especially when setting up custom workflows or reports. Certain pages take a few extra clicks to reach, and the interface could be slightly more intuitive in some areas. However, once you’re familiar with the system, it becomes easier to navigate.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helps organize and standardize the hiring process by keeping all candidate information, interview notes, and communication in one place. It reduces manual tracking and improves visibility for everyone involved in recruitment. This makes it easier to manage multiple openings at once and ensures a more consistent candidate experience.

 ### 17. Intuitive UI, Needs Better Reporting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcela C.

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like Greenhouse's clean UI and UX, which makes it easy to navigate and intuitive. It takes less time to get the things I need. The platform is beneficial for our team and stakeholders, especially for higher volume hiring, because it's easier to navigate. I appreciate the inclusion of essential features like editing a req, offer, or job details post offer acceptance.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

The reporting functionality doesn't let me save into an already existing report. The initial setup was challenging and I recommend having actual developers and analysts who have worked in talent or HR in the implementation team. Additionally, it might be beneficial for salespeople to have a bootcamp in the implementation process.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse for recruiting and HRIS operations, which simplifies our onboarding process. Its clean and intuitive UI and UX make navigation easy, saving time in accessing needed information. It's been beneficial for our higher-volume hiring, and includes necessary features like editing job details post-offer.

 ### 18. Streamlined Hiring with Customizable, Insightful Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha R. | Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I find Greenhouse incredibly valuable for recruiting, as it provides a structured interview process seamlessly that helps reduce bias in hiring. It's great at helping me identify which candidate sources are most valuable, so I can focus investment there. I love the reporting function, which allows me to create custom reports and dashboards that are particularly useful for presentations to our leadership team. Additionally, the CV carousel gets positive feedback from hiring managers, which is something I also appreciate. The customizability of Greenhouse stands out as it enables the software to fit the specific needs of our organization. Moreover, when we switched to Greenhouse, we were guided excellently through the setup process which allowed us to pace ourselves and manage implementation smoothly. The strong support during setup made the transition process less daunting.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Those new to Greenhouse sometimes complain about the UX. Even though it's simple for me because I've been using it for years, it may be challenging for new users to navigate. A better onboarding flow tailored to different roles such as interviewer versus hiring manager could significantly improve the experience for newcomers.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse to implement a structured interview process that reduces hiring bias and to identify valuable candidate sources to prioritize investments, which enhances our recruiting efficiency.

 ### 19. Simplifies Recruiting, But Reporting Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camille H.

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I use Greenhouse primarily for recruiting and reporting, and I've found it to be particularly beneficial in hiring talent and keeping candidates organized. I appreciate how easy it is to use overall, which makes my workflow much more efficient. The scheduling feature is notably simple to navigate, allowing me to arrange appointments with minimal hassle. Although there are some areas for improvement, such as the frequency of sending email confirmations, the platform’s candidate review stage is incredibly effective for sorting through high volumes of applications, making the process of recruitment streamlined and manageable.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I find the reporting feature more complicated than it should be, making it difficult to extract the necessary information. Additionally, navigating the back-end configurations could be more user-friendly. I also found the initial setup of Greenhouse to be complicated.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse for efficient recruiting and candidate organization. It simplifies hiring and scheduling, making it easy to manage high application volumes, though reporting could be more user-friendly.

 ### 20. Robust Features with Integration, But Needs Better Candidate Search

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tati O.

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I really appreciate the scorecard system in Greenhouse. It presents interview prep, job details, and resumes seamlessly, all accessible with just a touch of a button, which is incredibly efficient. I also love the integration with BrightHire, as it complements the functionality of Greenhouse perfectly. Being able to click a button and have all answers, questions, and information ready in a structured manner is a huge time-saver and enhances productivity. This feature relieves me from the hassle of manual notes and makes the entire recruitment process smooth and efficient. Additionally, the straightforward setup and ease of access to the system further enhance its usability, allowing me to focus more on hiring and less on logistical barriers.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I find it challenging to evaluate candidate profiles effectively. It's difficult to locate candidates already in the system, and reviewing them is not as straightforward as I would like. This aspect of the candidate evaluation process is particularly cumbersome and needs improvement. Additionally, the innovative evaluation during the initial setup was hard, along with assessing the end dates in the pipeline.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse streamlines interview preparation by organizing scorecards and hiring manager's notes, making the process seamless. The integration with BrightHire automates answer documentation, allowing me to focus on evaluating candidates without manual note-taking.

 ### 21. User-Friendly with Legacy Charm

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I find Greenhouse extremely easy to use, which enhances my recruiting experience by keeping everything I need in one place, making the overall process efficient and well-organized. I appreciate the usability of the system, especially the smooth user experience that Greenhouse offers, although I preferred the previous legacy account view and UX experience. Despite this, Greenhouse remains intuitive and effective. The scorecards feature is particularly valuable, as it allows me to easily assess how managers think candidates align with roles, providing a streamlined way to gather and store feedback. This component is essential for decision-making and enhances the recruiting workflow remarkably.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I find it inconvenient that requisitions need to be requested outside of the system. I believe there should be a feature within Greenhouse where a manager can fill out a form or request within the system that goes through an approval process. Additionally, the initial setup of Greenhouse was lengthy, which was a bit frustrating.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse for managing applications, interviews, scheduling, and approvals. It's easy to use, keeps everything in one place, and helps evaluate candidates effectively with scorecards.

 ### 22. Good ATS - Poor Customer Service

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jo H. | Chief People Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Overall easy to use, good notifications and reporting features. In general deserves positive reputation for functionality.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

No consultation with customers before making major changes. Tried to implement a new Candidate Profile screen in 2024 that was horrendous and thankfully was taken down after numerous customer complaints. Unfortunately they plan to force an 'updated' version on Sept. 8 that still has major flaws and provide no option to opt out.
Customer service pays lip-service to the concern, can't explain the need for more white space, and just say use the training manuals (we need a training manual to learn how to use something that's meant to be better and more intuitive??). New profile is more difficult to use and navigate , and hiring managers who tried it uniformly ask how to switch back to the legacy profile! Greenhouse seems to have become complacent with their ranking , acting like it gives them carte blanch to ignore their customers. So disappointing.

 ### 23. Customization Powerhouse with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johanna K. | STR

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I can't go back to another software after using Greenhouse. I find Greenhouse incredibly valuable for its customization capabilities. The ability to tailor hiring stages, interview questions, scorecards, and email templates to fit our unique needs is particularly beneficial. I also appreciate the streamlined process for tracking metrics and sending follow-up emails to collect interview feedback, as it enhances the visibility and efficiency of our hiring process. Additionally, compared to more basic ATS platforms I've used in the past, Greenhouse stands out with its scalability. Having a single, central system for record-keeping simplifies our operations and integrates seamlessly with other tools we use, such as our HRIS Rippling, ad platforms like Indeed and LinkedIn, and the texting add-on Grayscale. Moreover, the visibility into interview feedback is noticeably better, providing us with meaningful insights to improve our recruitment strategies. I also found the initial setup process to be fairly easy, as it was designed to be understandable and allowed me to handle most of the setup independently as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, with minimal assistance from HR or IT.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

1. No native texting to candidates. 2. There's no dedicated space to work on interview question templates without tying them to specific jobs. 3. I want more AI functionality to recommend role matches in the CRM and prioritize applications for open jobs. 4. It lacks automated reminders based on what the users do/don't do (if candidate does not reply in X days, do Y) (if candidate is in stage for X days, do Y). 5. Setting up the infrastructure feels daunting; without proper guidance, the full potential of Greenhouse and its CRM is underutilized. 6. I find it frustrating that I can't bulk save candidates as prospects while migrating their specific source, as it forces me to save the same source for all. 7. Bulk changing CRM pools isn't as straightforward as it should be. 8. The interface can be complex for lower tech hiring managers, and simplifying it would greatly enhance usability. 8. Cheaper/better integration with the Predictive Index.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse solves application management, facilitates hiring stage customization, automates communication, and improves interview feedback visibility. It offers scalable system integration and better metrics, enhancing our overall recruitment efficiency.

 ### 24. Robust ATS Needs Better Setup Experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica G.

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like that Greenhouse integrates seamlessly with my company's mainframe calendar system. This integration allows me to easily assist my hiring managers and interviewers in scheduling interviews promptly, which is particularly crucial since I don't have the support of a dedicated recruiter or assistant to manage availabilities and schedules. Additionally, I appreciate the customizable applications feature, which enables me to tailor applications according to specific needs. This customization ensures that I am collecting the right data upfront to quickly assess candidates, effectively bridging the gap left by the absence of a first-round recruiter. These features significantly enhance the efficiency of my recruitment process by automating tasks and providing flexibility in managing applications.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

“I don't like that the calendar invite only goes to the interviewer and not the interviewee. This often leads to invites getting trapped in junk mail, causing interviewees to miss meetings, which wastes everyone's time. There's no effective way to confirm interviews with candidates without manual intervention, defeating the purpose of automation.","I find it problematic that there isn't a streamlined process for hiring managers to request and get job postings approved prior to posting. Currently, I have to draft a job order minimally, which is inefficient if the job isn't approved. A more automated and approved process would save time.","The initial setup of Greenhouse was much harder than expected. Despite promises of hands-on implementation, I received mostly a spreadsheet of actions and minimal guidance. The lengthy setup process meant we were paying for a product that was unusable for quite some time, which was disappointing and frustrating." I also dislike that we get very little attention from the GH team in offering support on how to maximize our use of the system or new features.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse acts as a recruiter, automates the recruiting process, generates job ads, and ensures compliance with legal guidelines. It integrates with our HRIS and DocuSign for streamlined onboarding and offer letters, enhancing efficiency without a dedicated recruiter.

 ### 25. Consistently Evolving Platform with Powerful Customizable Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily A. | Head of People and Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

It's been consistent throughout 3 different companies that I've recruited for. All of the data reporting features are super customizable and help me communicate up to executive leadership. I really appreciate how Greenhouse gets ahead of the curve on new AI features as well as new API integrations. It's constantly evolving, in a great way.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

The new UI change was a bit annoying, but after some time learning the updates, it's been easier to get a handle on. I still wish we could go back to legacy view, especially for my hiring managers who didn't have a full handle on the product day-to-day.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting, ease of scheduling, new AI application review

 ### 26. Smooth Hiring Workflows with Room to Simplify

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margaret M. | Chief People & Experience Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse makes building and customizing recruitment workflows incredibly easy. I can tailor stages, emails, and approvals to exactly match our hiring process. The user experience is intuitive, and it’s clear the platform was designed with recruiters and hiring managers in mind. It’s flexible enough to work for everything from high-volume roles to specialized searches, and the reporting tools help us keep a close eye on progress.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

The search functionality could be stronger — finding past candidates or specific records can feel more tedious than it should. Some processes take too many steps, which slows things down for power users. While the flexibility is great, streamlining certain actions would make a big difference for speed.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helps us standardize our hiring processes across the company, so every candidate has a consistent and professional experience. It keeps our pipelines fresh and organized, making it easier to spot and engage the right talent quickly. The built-in candidate communication tools mean we can respond faster and keep applicants informed at every stage. Overall, it helps us stay on top of our process, improve speed to hire, and maintain a high-quality candidate experience.

 ### 27. Outstanding Support and User-Friendly Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Débora A. | HR Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

The implementation team and the support team have both been excellent. The platform itself is straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy to understand. Whenever I have questions, they are answered clearly and simply. Support is always available when I need it.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Some configurations can be more challenging. We have a lot of customization options here, and it took considerable effort to manage them.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hope to gain better visibility and control over our candidate and recruiting data. We were pleased to be able to integrate GH with our other HR solutions, and we now have an ATS that is easy for both Hiring Managers and interviewers to use.

 ### 28. Powerful Hiring Features, But Interface and Workflow Customization Need Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Highly integrable system. The “structured hiring” methodology (interviews with scorecards and interview kits) helps standardize and improve the quality of hires. Native reporting and analytics. Diversity and inclusion functionality.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Interface is not very user-friendly, with a long learning curve as a result. It could have a more intuitive and modern front end. Reports could improve in how data is presented and made accessible. Approval workflows are overly simple and do not meet the customization needs of larger clients. The system does not correctly interpret the relationship between Job and Opening, which means data entered in the Opening cannot be leveraged in other areas of the system. Additionally, the Job and Opening statuses do not communicate properly, causing confusion — especially when an approval flow is linked to the position.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse is helping us improve the way we evaluate candidates, maintain our hiring bar, and bring consistency to the recruitment process. However, in many ways, it has also increased the complexity of our day-to-day work.

 ### 29. Greenhouse has been a game-changer for us!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tawny K. | Recruitment Manger, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

What I like best about Greenhouse is its incredible integrative power. It seamlessly connects with platforms like Indeed, streamlining our candidate sourcing. Beyond that, its ability to integrate with so many other software solutions has been a game-changer, introducing us to valuable tools like BrightHire for interviewing and Grayscale for candidate communication. This ecosystem has truly leveled up our tech stack. I also highly value the extensive customization options – we can tailor nearly every aspect of the platform to fit our unique recruitment workflows. Finally, the easy tracking of candidates and processes makes managing our pipeline incredibly efficient. I also utilize Greenhouse every single day in my daily work routine.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

While Greenhouse is powerful, my main dislike is its robustness. For a recruiter in my field, it can sometimes feel a bit too comprehensive, with many features that aren't essential to our daily operations. This can lead to a slightly steeper learning curve or a feeling of navigating more than is necessary. My biggest functional wish is for a simpler way to "save" applications and find them easier later. The current method for revisiting specific candidates or applications could be more intuitive for quick access.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse has really helped us out by fixing a few big headaches in our hiring. Before, keeping track of applications from different job boards was a mess, and getting our various tools to talk to each other was a nightmare. Now, Greenhouse links right up with places like Indeed, pulling everything into one spot. Plus, it plays nice with so many other software tools, even introducing us to cool ones like BrightHire and Grayscale. This whole setup lets us customize everything to how we work and makes tracking candidates super easy. It's cut down on all the busywork, letting us focus on actually finding great people

 ### 30. Greenhouse ATS: Simple and Intuitive, but Needs Better Training and Career Site Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

It's very simple and easy to use for both Recruiters & Hiring Managers. Simple and intuitive ATS are preferred. As soon as ATS process becomes too complicated people don't want to use the system and start creating "work arounds" outside the system. This is the primary reason we've stayed with Greenhouse ATS. Also like the GHR>GHO integration and functionality of an integrated hiring & onboarding platform.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Didn't receive any Site Admin training when I was new to GHR. I think training is just done at the time of implementation and there should be some "new user" adoption training plan, especially for new TA Leaders who join a company using GHR. I came very close to changing ATS systems after my first year at renewal time because our adoption and utilization of GHR was very poor, but that was mostly lack of training and system awareness on our team as we had all new recruiters many of whom had never used GHR before. There are some things in Site Admin that are a big 'quirky' in comparison to other ATS systems that I've used, but once I got trained (mostly "self-training") and had a bit more experience with GHR I was better able to help the team adopt and use GHR better. We improved, but it was a very rough first year and we were an 'at risk' customer. We have now signed a multi-year renewal and I'm more comfortable with our team's utilization of GHR. Other area is that the "career site" is very limited (text job posts with limited branding), I've worked with other ATS that have advanced career site branding integrated into the core ATS module (videos, branding content, etc.) or CRM functions build in so these functions seem to be more basic and we'd need to engage a 3rd party service provider (PhenomPeople / Smashfly, etc.) to gain the full benefits or "build it ourselves" wit our Marketing team which would be hard to do. AI adoption has seemed slow at GHR in comparison with other ATS tools (ie. AI automated resume screening & fraudulent candidate identification specifically) but I hear they are now in the works for 2026 launch.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Core Enterprise Recruiting System (ATS) for global software (SaaS) company, mid-market < 1000 employees but growing. We use GHR & GHO

 ### 31. Powerful Automation & Customization with Initial Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Weston F.

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I appreciate that Greenhouse has significantly automated our workflows, which has been a major plus for our organization. The continuous addition of new features keeps it up-to-date, and the system's customization capabilities meet our various needs seamlessly. The customer support is commendable, and the automation features are outstanding, contributing to the scalability of our business. The ease of use, alongside features like automatic reminders, candidate portals, feedback forms, and automated scheduling, greatly enhances our operational efficiency. These factors make Greenhouse a deserving 10 out of 10 in recommendation likelihood.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I found the implementation of Greenhouse to be a rather large lift. It was more challenging than I originally expected, requiring a significant time commitment—anywhere between twenty to forty hours per week—to set it up correctly. This extensive effort can be overwhelming for new users or those with limited resources.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse to automate workflows, customize solutions for diverse scenarios, and improve managerial efficiency with automated features, reducing time-to-fill by about 60%.

 ### 32. Greenhouse Makes Recruiting Efficient and Collaborative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse is incredibly easy to use and integrates seamlessly with our existing tools. Implementation was smooth, and their customer support team has been fantastic—always quick and helpful. I use it daily, and love how many features are built to streamline every part of the hiring process while keeping things intuitive and organized.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse has been an excellent tool overall! If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that some of the admin settings and reports require a bit of time to become familiar with or to customize. However, once you get the hang of it, everything runs very smoothly.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse has streamlined our entire hiring process—from job creation to offer. It keeps our team aligned, saves time with automation, and ensures a consistent candidate experience. For me, it’s made managing multiple roles and stakeholders much easier, and for our company, it’s improved efficiency, reporting visibility, and overall collaboration across teams.

 ### 33. Great Tool for Candidate Management, but New Interface is not Intutative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

It makes it easy to search for candidates and to organize moving them from stage to stage, as well as keeping your notes and data on candidates all in one place. I appreciate that I'm able to merge profiles, get rid of duplicates, and make manual notes attached to a candidate's profile. I also appreciate how customizable that the competency based scorecard system is. Additionally, they have good customer support. I use it every day to do my job and don't have major complaints with it.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I think that the new interface from the past year is less intutive than the the old one, and it takes a lot of training to get used to.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helps make sure that candidates don't fall through the cracks in our recruiting process, increasing time to hire and making sure our hiring processes run smoothly. As a recruiter user, I couldn't do my job nearly as fast or well without a tool like Greenhouse.

 ### 34. User friendly but easily customizable!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Talent Acquisition Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I've been an avid user of Greenhouse for 5+ years. I love how user-friendly the platform is, but also how customizable it is. You can really cater the settings, flows, reporting and so much more to how your business needs it. In addition, the GH team has been wonderful from support perspective on doing new changes that adapt to our needs.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

It seems like a silly thing to dislike but HOW customizable the platform is can be challenging. You need to invest your time to understand what you want out of it and cater it to yourself/your teams needs.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ease of navigating a large amount of applicants, being able to filter them, and provide a positive and inclusive candidate experience

 ### 35. Customizable Features Saves Ample Time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

There are numerous features I can set up to help each stage flow smoothly into the next, which saves time. For example, when I move a candidate from Reviewed to Phone Screen, it automatically sends them an interview request email.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

When we implemented the platform, we didn’t have a dedicated representative to walk us through the process. All of the training was synchronous. Some people may enjoy that learning method, but I personally don’t, because I prefer being able to ask questions live.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse addresses the challenge of managing and coordinating the hiring process by centralizing candidates, interviews, and feedback in a single, well-structured system. For us, this means more consistent and collaborative hiring, with decisions that feel more data-driven. It also streamlines the process overall, improving efficiency and supporting a better candidate experience.

 ### 36. Automation-Driven, Highly Recommended ATS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leticia A.

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I truly appreciate Greenhouse for its robust automation tools that simplify the recruitment process by automating tasks such as candidate emails and messages. This feature significantly reduces manual labor and allows me to focus on other important tasks. Additionally, I find the bulk action capabilities extremely valuable for managing large volumes, as it allows me to efficiently process tasks and stay organized. The ability to personalize processes according to our needs is another aspect I enjoy, as it makes Greenhouse a tool that can be tailored to fit our unique workflow and enhance productivity. Furthermore, the integration with BrightHire has been seamless, providing me with quick and efficient scorecard management, which is a great enhancement to the workflow.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I found the UX design of Greenhouse a bit difficult to understand at first, particularly with all the functionalities and configuration options. While the ability to personalize the process is a strength, the setup could be more organized and intuitive. A clearer and more intuitive design would enhance the overall user experience.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse automates manual labor, streamlining candidate communication and process progression, freeing up my time for other tasks.

 ### 37. Streamlined Hiring with Minor Reporting Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niall D.

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I appreciate Greenhouse for its seamless integration into our workflow, making it easy for my team and I to use, increasing visibility in our recruitment process. It allows us to make faster, more informed hiring decisions with higher returns on investment. The CRM function adds great value, facilitating collaboration among stakeholders. Overall, Greenhouse efficiently meets all our recruitment needs.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I'd remake their reporting function a little bit easier to use, in terms of being able to find, set, and edit certain reports. The reporting feature is wonderful when you really know how to use it. However, different people are looking to find out different things from the reporting feature. This can be quite challenging, especially for hiring managers, recruiters, and business owners who have vastly different needs. Maneuvering the reports could be easier if they were grouped together or made more interpretable.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Greenhouse allows us to move faster, enabling more informed hires with higher ROI and provides streamlined visibility for all hiring partners, benefiting our recruitment process.

 ### 38. Greenhouse: A Great Platform with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jess B. | Associate Program Manager, Talent Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

What I like best about GH is:

GH helps with Structured Hiring & Workflows that can be customised. I appreciate how it helps standardise the hiring process with templates for auto stage transistions, interview plans, and scorecards.

How GH Intergrates with other software – Connects with various HR systems like Workday, background check services, Linkedin, Talent Wall, Modernloop etc

The automated interview scheudling stages really helps reduces manual effort by integrating with calendars and recruiters can efficently do recruiter phone screens.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

What I dislike about GH is:

Limited Flexibility in Reporting – Custom reporting can be restrictive, requiring workarounds to extract specific data or use other tools to help with reporting.

The backend of the system when updating offer templates can be very manual on how you update templates.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse does a great job of solving key hiring challenges with its customisable workflows, automated interview stages, and email automation. It makes it easy to tailor the recruitment process to fit specific needs, keeping things smooth and efficient.

One of its best features is custom job approvals and offer management, which helps speed up approvals while ensuring everything stays compliant. Overall, Greenhouse takes a lot of the hassle out of hiring by automating key tasks and making collaboration easier.

 ### 39. Intuitive and Streamlined Hiring Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saida A. | Senior Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I like that Greenhouse is very intuitive and easy to navigate. The workflows are clearly structured, which makes it simple for hiring managers and recruiters to stay aligned throughout the process.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

Some areas of Greenhouse can feel a bit complex at first. New users often need time to get comfortable with the different pipelines, permissions, and configuration options.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse solves the challenge of getting hiring managers, recruiters, and interviewers on the same page. With structured scorecards and interview kits, it ensures everyone evaluates candidates consistently, improving quality of hire.

 ### 40. Streamlined Hiring with Comprehensive Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cole B.

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I appreciate Greenhouse's robust automation capabilities, which have significantly streamlined our processes and improved efficiency. The detailed setup support and information made the initial implementation easy, and the system's usability is exceptional. The seamless integration with tools like Indeed and Keeyora further enhances our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

{"There are some issues with the reporting features in Greenhouse. Specifically, the process of assigning recruiters to candidates could be more streamlined to avoid manual changes.","Bulk sending of self-schedule requests is not currently available, which could enhance efficiency if implemented.","While setting up Greenhouse was overall supported by detailed information and good support, the process felt challenging due to its depth and the compression of the timeline to meet an expedited launch date."}

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse automates hiring tasks, reducing manual work, and improving team efficiency. It streamlines candidate tracking and interview scheduling, which saves time and enhances productivity.

 ### 41. Very efficient and streamlined our hiring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

What I like best about Greenhouse is that it is so easy to use and that it has so many features. The layout is clean and straightforward, making it easy for me to manage candidates, but easily scanable for interviewers and hiring managers to easily glance over applications and complete scorecards. I also like that much structure is established in workflows by having the interview kits and templates that keep everything standard and streamlined. Implementation was also manageable, with resources for how to train as well as integrations that are provided, and I use Greenhouse daily to track applicants, schedule interviews, and inform candidates. The system in general is robust yet flexible, with pipelines, reporting, and integrations that all really make the recruitment much more streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I don't enjoy that Greenhouse is sometimes too elaborate and expensive. It took me longer to roll it out than I expected, and plugging it into other HR software was not always smooth. While the support team has been responsive, the reply times were not always quick enough for me, especially when issues needed repeated follow-up. I also find that occasional users, like recruitment managers who only use the software to complete scorecards, find it intimidating at times. While I like that Greenhouse has so many features, they are not all beneficial to me, and the most beneficial features like advanced reporting and integrations into CRMs cost additional.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse saves me time by bringing candidate tracking, interview feedback, and communication under one umbrella. The scorecards and workflows make it fair and consistent to make hires, and the reporting keeps me looking into bottlenecks. It also scales for larger volumes and allows for a better candidate experience, all of which improves employer branding and enables attracting the best candidates.

 ### 42. Streamlined Our Hiring Process – A Great Fit for a Fast-Paced EHS Company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madison S. | People & Culture Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

We've been using Greenhouse for a little over a year and a half now, and it's been a game-changer for our recruiting efforts. As an EHS consulting company, we need to move quickly when it comes to hiring skilled professionals, and Greenhouse helps us stay organized and consistent across all roles and departments, ensuring we are following the process and are in compliance.

What we like most is how customizable the workflows are. We’ve tailored different hiring stages for EHS Advisors, Environmental Specialists, and corporate roles, which helps our hiring managers stay on track and ensures a smooth experience for candidates. The scorecards and interview kits have been especially helpful in getting our technical teams aligned on what “good” looks like.

It also integrates well with the tools we already use, like DocuSign, Microsoft and LinkedIn, which saves us a lot of time on the backend. And the reporting features give us clear visibility into where candidates are getting stuck or dropping off, which has helped us tighten up our process.

Overall, Greenhouse has made a noticeable difference in how we attract and hire talent. It’s efficient, flexible, and supports the kind of structured process that’s essential in a compliance-driven industry like ours.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

If I had one piece of feedback, it’s that the learning curve was a bit steep for some of our less tech-savvy team members at first—but the training resources and support team were great at walking us through it. It is now a very simple platform for our team to use.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse helped us fix a major issue—our hiring process used to be inconsistent across departments, making it hard to compare candidates or move quickly. Now, we have standardized scorecards across all divisions, which makes evaluations fair and aligned.

Scheduling interviews is also much easier. With Greenhouse, we avoid the constant back-and-forth and can coordinate with our leadership more efficiently. The platform has made our process more organized, collaborative, and scalable—especially important in our fast-moving EHS environment. There’s a bit of setup work upfront, but the payoff is worth it.

 ### 43. User-Friendly, But Setup Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier M. | Senior Full Life Cycle Recruiter

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I find Greenhouse easy to use, which makes it valuable to me. I appreciate being able to see where all my candidates are, what stages they're in, and the upcoming steps.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I'd like an easy way to mass message/text candidates natively. The initial setup was challenging and long; I wish the implementation was simpler.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Greenhouse for candidate management and reporting. I like seeing where all my candidates are, what stages they're in, and the upcoming steps.

 ### 44. Greenhouse is one of the best ATS to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa C. | Senior Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse is very user friendly and has a great user interface. It is not clunky, complicated, or cluttered. I love that Greenhouse is easy to use and has a very organized and structured visualization that makes it easy to find different sections and categories. A few of my favorite features are: the ease of editing and creating email templates to send to candidates, the ability to integrate and sync my Calendly account to invite candidates to book their interviews with me via Calendly, and the scorecard feature for recruiters and hiring teams to use when interviewing candidates. I use Greenhouse everyday as my main ATS for my company and my recruiting team and hiring teams love it.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

One thing I wish could be improved is the ability to send more than one automated interview reminder email to candidates. At the moment only 1 interview reminder email is autpmatically sent 24-hours before their scheduled interview, but it would be helpful and extremely useful if we had the option to add additional interview reminder timeframes.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse is solving our problems of organzing candidate data and stages so that we can keep track of where candidates are in every step of their interview and candidacy. Greenhouse is also solving our problem of centralizing information and aligning collaboration efforts between our recruiting team and hiring teams. This is a huge benefit because all employees know where to go to refer candidates for jobs, find interview questions in the scorecards, view resumes easily, and view interview status and progress for roles they are hiring for.

 ### 45. Very customizable and makes scheduling efficient!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riley D. | Recruiting Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I've been a user of Greenhouse for 1 year now. I absolutely love how you can schedule across multiple calendars at the same time within my organization. This makes scheduling complex interviews a piece of cake and lightning fast. Our scheduling metrics are well above industry standard due to this. I am using this system daily and am happy to do so.

Additionally, I love how versatile and customizable Greenhouse is. Once you get more familiar with the system, there are endless possibilities to customize workflows and create efficient processes.

You can easily work with the account reps to best leverage the system as well. Our leadership has learned a lot from them.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

The main drawback also comes from how customizable the system is. There are endless options and configuration points to choose from making it very difficult to pinpoint the BEST route without trial and error and lots of testing. Additionally, integration between ADP and Greenhouse can break easily, but it's not intuitive what causes the breaking points without lots of lengthy investigation.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick way to open jobs, solves lengthy scheduling issues, and will help us leverage metrics in the future.

 ### 46. Greenhouse has streamlined our Talent Acquisition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sydney M. | HR Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Greenhouse is very customizable and allows me to manage talent acquisition all in one place. We use Greenhouse daily to manage our full talent acquisition. It also allows my team to work asynchronously and cross-functionally to streamline talent acquisition while also improving the overall talent management and hiring process. Greenhouse is very helpful and effective for the full talent management cycle. The customer service is also excellent and has been super helpful whenever we have issues or questions.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

It is complex and not so user-friendly at times. I would say the ease of use can be challenging as there is a bit of a learning curve.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse is helping us to create a people focused talent acquisition, full recruitment, and hiring process that is streamlined.

 ### 47. Smooth Running After a Challenging Setup

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nicola m.

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I value Greenhouse for how it has made our reporting process significantly less manual and more efficient. The integration with kickoff forms helps streamline hiring processes and keeps us compliant with SOC two type licensing. The overall seamless operation and ease of integration for hiring managers into the talent function enhance our organizational efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I feel that setting up Greenhouse requires a significant amount of time and effort, which can be quite demanding if you aim to implement it properly from the start. I also think that having more hands-on assistance from account managers at the beginning would greatly improve the onboarding experience.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greenhouse reduces manual tasks in reporting, assists with manager role inputs for hiring, and maintains SOC two compliance, enhancing hiring efficiency and regulatory adherence.

 ### 48. Effortless Navigation and Flexible Customization with Greenhouse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

I appreciate how simple it is to navigate Greenhouse, and I also value the flexibility it offers to make adjustments and tailor it to fit our organization's needs.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

One aspect I dislike about Greenhouse is that it sometimes restricts what we are able to do. Additionally, certain features or processes are not clearly explained, which means we often have to look for information outside of Greenhouse to better understand how things work or what their purpose is.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greater flexibility in data reporting has been valuable for us, as it allows us to filter out the most important information and present it effectively to our leadership team.

 ### 49. Clear and Simple Interface Makes Work a Breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia S. | Java Backend Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

The clear and simple interface, user-friendly and simple

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

I understand the need for improvements, however, interface is changing quite often and sometimes it's difficult to catch up

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform offers a clear overview of new applications, making it easy to review them. I also appreciate the transparent visibility it provides into the entire candidate pipeline.

 ### 50. No ATS is perfect - Greenhouse gets the closest.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robb C. | Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Greenhouse?**

Out of the box is great but what Greenhouse excels most in is customization. This ATS allows you to customize features, forms, and functions to meet your company's workflows. And while you can't change everything under the hood, most things have reasonable workarounds that will still allow you to accomplish your goals. The product is designed with scale in mind. Whether it's 1,000 candidates or 1,000,000, Greenhouse performs well organizing candidates, job postings, req numbers, and more. Reporting in a cinch with API access and simple API key management. The product is web based and can be accessed from anywhere even on mobile. It's reliable, has little issues with uptime, and virtually no outages. Customer support is offered via chat or just an email away from your CSM for help.

**What do you dislike about Greenhouse?**

The two biggest items that hold Greenhouse back are data structures and design. First, the data structures. This won't impact 90%+ of users but some of the data is structured in such a way that sorting or querying using the API can become cumbersome. Candidates (for example) can have several unique identifiers tied to them and intuitive items like req numbers, job numbers, and job IDs are not the same. Again, this won't impact most users but worth noting. Lastly (and I'm sure they've already heard about this) is their abrupt UI/UX design change that seemed to be a change for the sake of change. They moved things around and created 3 separate columns of info for a page that used to have 1. It's become very difficult to come back up to speed with and it seems like it was a decision made in a vacuum, not after consulting customers. This has been a difficult one to work past but I remain hopeful.

**What problems is Greenhouse solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing inbound applications, job requisitions, candidate resumes, candidate stages, and interview feedback. Really the primary things you want from an ATS on top of user management and security. Inbound applications are where the majority of the high volume comes in. Greenhouse makes it easy to manage these with automated replies, application questions, and candidate tags. This helps to organize things. Additionally, managing historical job requisitions is much easier with Greenhouse because of how the system is setup. Searching for candidate's resumes uses boolean logic which is helpful in finding prior applicants that may fit a role you're filling and need to revisit.
