"ADSP: Leveraging AI for Effective Decision Making" 4.5/5 What do you like best about Great Learning? I initially heard of this class on social media, and immediately jumped on applying. Given the career I am pursuing, I felt it aligned well with my goals and ambitions. There is an interview process (single interview with a short follow-up) and once you finish, you choose a cohort. The cohorts are very small. If you need to, you may be able to start the cohort after the soonest, but I'm not sure that you're able to beyond that. Once you begin your cohort, there is pre-work that helps get you warmed up for the course, as well as a few additional relevant complimentary courses. These are all optional and work at your own pace courses. Once you begin the main courses, there are both optional and mandatory class sessions. There are plenty of projects to complete along the way that help you to understand the concepts better. On to the review portion: The instructors and mentors are very knowledgeable on each topic that they cover. If there are questions at any point during the meetings, they don't hesitate to clear up any questions, concerns, convolutions (no pun intended), or confusions anybody might have. They explain everything more in depth if necessary and verify whether you understand or not. They may ask you to specify what you need to know if their initial explanation doesn't suffice, but they will answer your questions nonetheless, and in depth. At the end of this class, there is a final project of three parts. There is one advisor that you will communicate with, and in my experience, mine was very responsive and again, answered any questions I had. There were some that he could not answer, and subsequently pointed me to the correct location and person. Overall, this class was both challenging and informative. While the mandatory sessions were the same time weekly (with the exception of a single week, during the week), the optional sessions were at many different times and were a bit difficult to schedule around. AI is going to be a massive advance in every industry in a short period of time, so this class is teaching me valuable knowledge for those purposes, as well as making me future-proof. I cannot stress enough how excellent a program this is. I took the Applied Data Science program, and it was the most theoretically dense, rigorous, practical, immersive and supportive learning experience I have ever taken (in person or online!). My program manager Shikha was instrumental in making sure I remained on track—she consistently went above and beyond to encourage me and make sure I had everything I needed to benefit from the material and stay motivated (she supported me through many obstacles—life happens). If you know your purpose in taking the course, I promise you that you will learn hard skills fast, and not only are the faculty super supportive, but the lectures are just enjoyable and very human. There is truly a sense of community, and there is always a chance to engage with your classmates and mentors in a way that rivals any in-person experience. I will forever recommend this program, and the Great Learning platform, to everyone I know. Thank you Shikha from the bottom of my heart for contributing such an encouraging and friendly energy to the overall atmosphere of the course. There is so much information and resources that it can be overwhelming to navigate the website and keep track of deadlines. But honestly the wealth of resources is a plus and not really a con. I went into this course uncertain whether I'd be able to truly grasp the material, because I had only the most basic knowledge of probability and statistics. Through Great Learning, MIT provided an education that met me exactly where I was, and brought me all the way through to complete all learning objectives, in a way I could confidently apply in my personal and professional life. Shikha Singh, my Program Manager, kept in frequent context with me, helped me overcome obstacles, and provided the kind of support I needed when I was feeling unsure or confused. In May 2023 after some serious research online, I booked an appointment with a program manager Shikha of Great Learning to decide whether I should apply to study MIT's Applied Data Science Program: Leveraging AI for Effective Decision-Making. After detailed explanation to all my questions, I have decided that this is the best program for my thirst for data analytics/artificial intelligence mastery which has been an ever fascinating topics after I completed my Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate earlier in 2023. The Great Learning class feels like a nature progression for me as the next thing I should do and it fills all the mathematical explanations which Google certification did not provide and at the same time, covers everything I could have imagined including tons of hands on projects beyond data analysis. The live lectures provided by top MIT professors are all in world class quality. Mentors are all very professional and kind to students. All professors and mentors are very approachable and welcome questions within and after scheduled classes also. We are also assigned a dedicated program manager who help answer all our questions and keep us motivated (and yes you will need it as the program is 12 weeks only and it is meant to give you a solid ground to move forward on your own once you graduated so you can imaging the amount of materials you need to go through. The program will start all students with 2 weeks of preparation materials which I strongly suggest that anyone take the program to spend as much time as possible to understand these so to pave a solid ground for you to build more knowledge on top. The lecture is meant to be learned in sequence as each one set the foundation for the next big topics in line. Great Learning has done this well with repeating learning materials from different angles to assist you to gain a well rounded understanding of the topics. I felt so confident about the materials, at the end of the program, there was a hackathon and I just pushed myself to join it. It was quite fun and a very good learning experience indeed. At the end, our team reached first place of the contest and I am very grateful of all the learning I have received from this Great Learning program to help me become a very confident in what I will do in the next. If you put in effort, I am certain the completion of this program will help anyone become much more confident about getting into data science field whether in their current organization or in any organizations that require data scientists to assist them on their projects. My domain is Operational Technology for Critical Infrastructure focusing on Digital Transformation & Cybersecurity. I was a bit skeptical when I signed up for a Data Analytics Program with coding. However, Great Learning & MIT proved me wrong. The entire 12 weeks was a beautiful learning experience with excellent content and perfect delivery. The program surprised me with ample opportunities to interact, network, and be tested. The pace at which the entire course was orchestrated was the highlight, especially for a senior consultant like me. The best part was the handholding we received throughout the program and specifically during the capstone project. The final presentation was the icing on the cake, really enjoyed it. Also, special thanks and gratitude to my program coordinators - their support, help, and assistance were prompt and exemplary.
