I have previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics (SL) and Quickbooks online, so I found the learning curve for Gravity to be accelerated because of that. We use Gravity daily as our consolidated accounting system. The various modules interact with each other well. The template reports are easy to get used to and navigating the platform is straight-forward. Additionally, the customer support team is able to clear issues quickly and effectively. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** I think one area for improvement is Gravity's non-template report feature. You have almost unlimited possibilities with creating unique reports to fit your company's needs; but writing the reports is quite a process and you have to be extremely careful with the coding or the report does not work. Once it works though, it's great! **What problems is Gravity Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our business is structured as approximately 20 separate operating entities that require consolidated and stand-alone reporting each month. We chose the software because of the multi entity capabilities since we have 29 that we like to view in some sort of combination or other. It is a game changer in that arena with the integrations we have added. It has aided the office so much that we were able to reduce our headcount by 2 individuals. I like that we can upload copies of the invoices into payables, bank statements into the bank recs, and W9's on the vendors so we don't need to store paper copies anymore. It is also convenient that it can be accessed from anywhere. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** Sometimes the canned reports time out when switching between entities. Also, sometimes the dashboards don't display the correct information. The general ledger and reports are correct, just the display gets hung up. However, nothing than more than a quick email and typically it is fixed same day by the support team. One last issue I have, but a good thing for accountants, is that I cannot just change a date on a payable or cash receipt without having to correct it (automated reversal and reissue) in the system, there is no way just to change one thing without having to use the system process. **What problems is Gravity Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows more flexibility for my staff to work from home and definitely has helped with intercompany reconciliation since the system does the journal entries on the back end. Gravity is constantly making improvements and developing new modules. Customer service is wonderful. Inter-company transactions that required entering journal entries in several sets of books (logins) was time consuming. The features worked but were a bit more clunky than originally expected. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** The AP, AR, credit card and payroll modules are not very efficient as the system does not connect to many outside systems. Furthermore the implementation process was very long and costly and at the end of the day found that the lack of efficiencies out weighed the positives of the multi entity and custom reporting features. **What problems is Gravity Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** The system is very innefficent and has no automatic matching features. Support has also been stellar; I put in a ticket and get the question and issue resolved within the day. We primarily use basic accounting features and the investment sub-module, which supports multi-entity- and multi-FX transactions. As with any implementation there will be unexpected challenges, which is why appreciate Gravity's dedication to our success. To this day, I have direct access to Gravity's management and development team and they are always helpful in spending time to understand the problem and designing tailor fit solutions. The application is unique in the way it stores and queries data, and unlike most competing accounting solutions the user can actually access all the data in the background. Being built on the Microsoft platform I can see how there is a lot of potential to make this application work for anyone. We have integrated our Outlook with Gravity to handle approval workflows and are now in the process of integrating Power BI for our investment presentation and reporting. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** There are aspects of this application where the features and UI feel beta (e.g. Investment module, dashboards). Gravity is powerful and customizable, but it takes a technically proficient user to fully leverage those capabilities (data tables, integrations, power bi, workflows). For our particular use case it wasn't a turnkey solution and remains a constant work in progress, which was partly due to miscommunication during the implementation phase. I have no doubt that Gravity can be customized to fit most company's needs, and I suspect the application will keep on improving over time. **Recommendations to others considering Gravity Software:** Have someone technical, experienced with both accounting and data, oversee the project. **What problems is Gravity Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Gravity is working to improve the Investment module and the logic in which it interacts with the general ledger. The can reports are ok. There are report writer features which you can create reports but if you are not used to putting together reports it can be confusing. Also, there should be better inquiry screens for viewing g/l accounts. **Recommendations to others considering Gravity Software:** You should have good support from the consulting company for the implementation of the system and ongoing. There are occasional adjustments, kinks, in the program so it is good to have a knowledgeable consultant to work with that can make corrections or notify Gravity as needed. **What problems is Gravity Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating consolidated reports for our multiple companies has been very helpful. It will process for 2 mins and then take a break for a few minutes before restarting can cause some lengthy run times for Consolidated Financials or Large transaction batches. Before Gravity, our company used QuickBooks which made these tasks very time-consuming and inefficient. Thanks to Gravity switching between legal entities is as easy as selecting from a dropdown. The simplified workflow has saved hours of work per week. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** The only feature holding Gravity back is the reporting. It meets the basic needs, but it feels outdated, slow, and clunky. Reporting can be enhanced with PowerBI, but this is by no means an easy implementation for none-technical users. My ideal software would merge the rich feature set available in Gravity with the comprehensive and intuitive reporting from QuickBooks. Customers are usually up and running within a couple of weeks. The system offers built in tools so you can create approval rules, quickly integrate third party solutions using automated flows (no importing). It is GAAP compliant and provides the ability for a single button correction with full audit trails. The ability to easily customize any screen or view listing without an consultant or worrying up an upgrade. Integrated job cost assures all cost are instantly tracked. Bank/Credit Reconciliation let's me create invoices, payments, vouchers or journal while I am reconciling. I don't have to enter this first. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** The system currently doesn't have a fixed assets module. Would like to see an automatic revaluation for multi-currency. It provides the ease of use and flexible tools for integration. Knowing my true profit on a job including committed, actual and estimated cost, couldn't do this in QuickBooks. I can quickly see how profitable each on customers are. We are in the construction business and it is very important for us to pay our vendors when we receive payment from the job. With Gravity I am easily able to select what vouchers to pay based on job. This has really helped our cashflow, only pay when you receive. We have a couple of regions and it is very important for us to be able to accurately track and produce financial statements by region. With the strong controls in Gravity, I am able to require the region to be filled in on any transaction associated with a general ledger account and report on it. A single entry allows me to post entries to the region, job and work type. We have been able to grow our business by 300% with Gravity because we have all the details to manage the business. The screens are all customizable and I have been able to remove and rearrange the data entries screens to remove any fields that I don't use. This has made data entry much quicker and easier. **What do you dislike about Gravity Software?** I have been very happy with the system. I don't really like scrolling down on some of the screens to get to the distribution lines.
