One of the main advantages is that it is free, truly cross-platform (supports Mac, Windows, Linux). The development team is continuously fixing bugs and errors, it is truly fantastic. From my point of view, the best vector-based illustration tool I have found. It features an infinite canvas, an intuitive interface, and simple yet very useful tools. I believe that with this tool you can do the same as with Adobe Illustrator, and on top of that, it's free.
The graphical user interface is very intuitive, with few levels of complexity where the basic tools have a very quick learning curve. The scope of the application is broad, including functions to support interaction design and visual design, for print and screen. It also has support for layers, pages, and smart objects. I really find it hard to find any negative points about a program of these characteristics, with the development team behind it and being free, just to mention something, although as I said before it is increasingly polished, it still has some bugs and minor errors.
