What do you dislike about GraphPad Prism? I dislike how the learning curve for the program is kind of steep, and choosing the correct graph set up can certainly be challenging for new users. However, GraphPad Prism does offer some tutorials and easy-to-follow familiarization videos online. Unlike Excel or "similar programs" (which do cannot make comparable figures), it allows you to easily change the scale, axes, grouping, and more to suit your needs rapidly. Everything about this program is incredibly easy and simple to use. My favorite thing would have it's graph making capabilities. With this program I have been able to create simple, yet professional looking graphs that are publication-ready. Furthermore, the fact that you are able to export in a wide range of file types makes it incredibly easy to integrate with other platforms, such as Adobe Illustrator. I am also a fan of the statistical analysis tools. I don't have an extensive statistical background, but this program makes it incredibly easy to do and does a good job at breaking down all the tests parameters. I really like that you can make graphs that have categories as the X axis, and then numbers as the Y axis. You can't do this in excel, and it is so frustrating. The graphs and portrayals of analyzed data are just much cleaner and nicer to look at. They convey the data in a better way. I also like that there are many different colors that can be used within the graphs - this is especially important when you need to show multiple graphs side by side one another. Once you learn Prism's functions and different statistics tests, and which ones apply to your needs, the software becomes an absolute go-to for any type of bulk data analysis such as ANOVA or t-tests. Additionally, it simplifies your data analysis. The prompts for your data helps you remember which statistics are best to use for each situation and which statistical tests will actually compare what you want and what you are looking for in regards to research. Figures are sharp and ready for publications. Also, it is easy to use the same dataset and change the statistical analysis in case you wanted to test multiple hypotheses with the same data.
