"Effortless Proofreading with Intuitive Browser Extension"
4/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

I use Grammarly mainly for light proofreading in my writing job. Grammarly is a great help in spotting little errors like missed commas or misspellings that I might overlook, especially when I'm writing all day and feeling mentally taxed. I love its ease of use and the practicality of the Grammarly browser extension, which allows me to correct errors across different sites like Google Docs or even when I’m on freelance sites applying for work. Setting it up was super easy, practically zero setup involved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

The site version can get confusing, especially as I've noticed that the focus is more on AI generation now and less on correction. I also realized that the explanations for certain corrections are completely irrelevant or unhelpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Effective Tool for Polished Communication"
5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

I love using Grammarly for correcting my typing mistakes, including grammar, articles, syntax, and word construction. It helps me tweak the sound and connotation of my writing to achieve a high level of good English sentence construction and communicates my message effectively. When I want my message to come across as ambitious or confident, Grammarly assists me in achieving that. I particularly like the keyboard interface of Grammarly; it's well-designed with one-touch button options and pop-ups that instantly provide solutions to my problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

For me, I would like Grammarly to give more offers about their monthly subscriptions and their yearly subscriptions. I've tried using the subscriptions several times, and it's a little bit difficult to always subscribe when you have a lot of expenses. So I would be very glad if there can be a sort of once in a while offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Grammarly has changed how I write"
5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

I love that I can build and format a blog post right in Grammarly. It saves me time having to reformat when I take it to another platform. I also love the plagiarism tool. That keeps me on track and not worrying if something seems related to another article online. And the integrations into all of the programs I use are amazing. I never have to worry about my writing.

Using Grammarly has made my work so much easier to complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

Right now I'm happy with all the tools it provides Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Polished, Error-Free Writing Everywhere with a Helpful Tone Detector"
4/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

This app saved me from many embarrassing typos, but also awkwardly phrased sentences I'd always miss when I’m rushing. The tone detector is a thoughtful touch which it keeps me from sounding unintentionally harsh in emails. It works everywhere without me having to think about it. The suggestions have helped me tighten up my writing style over time. Basically it will help you come across more polished than you actually are. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

It tries to rewrite my entire personality out of my writing instead of simply catching typos. The suggestions are sometimes just wrong. It will “correct” a sentence and completely change what I meant, or push me toward sounding generic and robotic. It ends up sometimes wasting time when I have to constantly reject its bad advice. "The Best Writing Tool "
5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

One of the newer Grammarly features that I found interesting is the Authorship tool. It can show how a document was created by identifying what was typed by the author, what was generated by AI, and what was pasted from another source. I think this is helpful in an academic setting because it provides transparency and can demonstrate originality in writing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

One area where Grammarly could improve is its ability to understand context. While many of the suggestions are helpful, there are times when Grammarly recommends changes that alter the intended meaning of a sentence or do not fit the purpose of the assignment. This is especially noticeable when writing academic papers that require discipline-specific terminology. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Writing Help That Makes My Emails and Reports More Professional"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

I love Grammarly’s real-time grammar and clarity suggestions while I’m writing. The “Refine” feature helps me tighten sentences and improve tone without changing my meaning, which has made my emails and reports much more professional. I also use the browser extension every day so I can polish content across different sites, and the plagiarism/citation support is a huge help when I’m working on longer documents. Overall, it’s saved me a lot of time by catching issues I’d normally miss after proofreading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

It does help me catch basic grammar mistakes, but I mostly dislike how intrusive and distracting Grammarly can feel while I’m writing. Many of the suggestions come across as generic, and at times it “corrects” sentences in a way that removes my intended tone or even shifts the meaning. I also find the feedback can get repetitive—especially in longer pieces—because it keeps underlining text and proposing the same types of changes over and over. Overall, I’d prefer more accurate, context-aware recommendations, along with better controls to reduce the noise and make the suggestions align more closely with my preferred style. "Real-Time Clarity and Polished Writing with Grammarly"
5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

What I like most about Grammarly is how it improves clarity, grammar, and tone in real time as I write. It catches mistakes quickly, suggests stronger wording, and helps my communication feel more professional and polished across emails, documents, and everyday messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

One downside of Grammarly is that some of its suggestions can come across as overly generic or end up shifting the intended tone of my writing. Also, more advanced features and the most detailed recommendations are limited to the paid plans, which can feel restrictive if you’re using the free version. "Incredibly Helpful Real-Time Tone Detection Across Platforms"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

The real-time tone detection is incredibly helpful for professional communication. It goes well beyond standard spell-check by showing me whether my writing comes across as confident, formal, or even a bit too blunt. I also appreciate that it’s cloud-based, since it follows me across different platforms like email, Google Docs, and project management tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

Sometimes the suggestions feel a bit too rigid and can end up stripping the personality out of my writing. It also occasionally flags industry-specific terminology that I know is correct, so I have to manually ignore or dismiss those alerts. On top of that, the widget can be distracting when it pops up over certain buttons in some web applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Writing Assistance, Minor Integration Hiccups"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Grammarly?

I use Grammarly when writing emails and curriculum. It helps me when I'm stuck trying to come up with a good way to word something, or when I miss typos or grammar errors. I like that it helps with communicating the best tone for my emails. I appreciate that it lets me choose how to change things, which means I can adjust my writing without losing my original content. Unlike other AI services, it doesn't change my writing completely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Grammarly?

I don't like that it gets in the way of the screen when I am writing and it blocks things so I can't see what's on the screen. I can't move it or adjust where it is on my screen. Sometimes it's not easy to integrate it on various places. I've had to sign in multiple times and sometimes it doesn't work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Yana M of Grammarly

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad that Grammarly saves you time when editing your writing.

As for your comment about the suggestions for proper nouns and names, we recommend adding those words to your personal dictionary. This will prevent Grammarly from providing suggestions for the words that are important to you. Here's how: https://gram.ly/cbbHWbj
