## Grain Reviews
  ### 1. Automates my workflow so I can focus on the more important stuff!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that Grain automatically transcribes all of my videos and makes searching through the transcripts so easy, which helps my post-interview workflow.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There are still some subtle organizational changes in Grain's workflow that could improve my workflow as a researcher, but it's not enough to make me stop using it!

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain automatically transcribes my research interviews, which allows me to focus on the interview itself and makes searching the transcript easier later one.

  ### 2. Easy and better than native Zoom recording

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Ability to take notes and tag moments in the call as it's happening, ability to create highlights, summarization of key points, ability to correct/edit the transcription, easy to share recording links internally and externally, ability to share highlights only.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

No CRM integration. Managing multiple Grain accounts gets tricky.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is superior to native Zoom recording in that it automatically joins my calls and produces a transcription in real time that I can annotate as the call is happening. It allows me to be far more present on calls, internally and externally, while still capturing an accurate written transcription that I can refer back to and share.

  ### 3. Easy to use and helpful closing leads

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan T. | Senior Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Easy to use and integrate with Zoom. The ability to automatically record all my calls and then send the recordings to customers is extremely useful.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The lack of Zapier triggers is annoying, as I would like to attach these recordings to leads in our CRM.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the issue of needing to remember all the details from the call. You can go back and review it whenever.

**Official Response from Rasheed Ahamed:**

> Thanks for the review, Ryan!

We're happy to let you know that we have launched a brand new integration with HubSpot. Now, you can automatically attach new recordings to leads in your CRM. We also integrate seamlessly with Salesforce.

In addition, we have made updates to our Zapier triggers, making the whole process even easier for you.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out.

**Reviewed by:** Kris O. | Chief Of Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain has helped with internal alignment and saved a lot of time with their notes features and now AI summaries. There support is timely and their product team continues to put out features that make our work lives easier.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Nothing that I dislike but the notepad function could be improved to include sub bullets.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Note taking, stakeholder alignment, holding others accountable, easily share information and more!

  ### 5. The best AI recording for Sales Managers

2. Easy to use UX to find specific parts of the recording and share with other team members
3. Cost-Friendly option to get what you need

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I love pretty much everything! I
would love it If I can add specific words from business like competitors or terms that the recorder doesn't translate very well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving calls recording
I can coach my Sales members
Calls output in my CRM (Hubspot)
Save tons of hours to send request to other team.
Share insights to product team, customer success and marketing on the product.

  ### 6. Quick and Effective meeting recordings and transcripts that help our time review meetings quicker

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sonja M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The transcription is highly beneficial. The new insights are also good for quick reviews of meetings.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

You cannot 'train' the transcription. My name for example is always spelt wrong, but it would be be good to be able to tell grain how to spell it. Also sometimes the Grain recording glitches and claims to be recording something indefinitely.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Note taking and client quote collection.

  ### 7. Easy to use and share the relevant sections with your team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

It is non-intrusive and easy to use.
Easy to share the highlighted portions with the team members

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The transcripts could be better especially for the Asian accents.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Record the sales call and use it for future reference plus sharing with the internal stakeholders to get their inputs on specific sections of the call

  ### 8. So useful for internal product learning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andi B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The easy snippets and text transcripts make this great for adding to our product request log and sending around internal testimonials of new features.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Not always great at attributing the right words to who is speaking when you're going back and forth on a call.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Videos and transcripts for client calls to share internally.

  ### 9. A Useful Tool with a Couple of Drawbacks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I think it's made my video editing so much easier and more pleasant. Really great for collaborating with team members on projects and showing rough cuts before diving into fine-tuned editing.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The interface can be a little glitchy, and I wish there was more advanced functionality, like the ability to copy transcripts from within stories. But I think that will come eventually.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me make rough cuts and show off v1 versions of testimonials and customer stories. It helps me organize my thoughts and idea for transcripts and other stories.

  ### 10. Grain is an indispensable tool for my executive coaching practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Executive Coach, Lead Facilitator, Conversation Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Now with AI insights, my clients and I can more easily track what was most valuable, actionable and impactful from each conversation.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Sharing sometimes runs into trouble when clients have "locked down" systems.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to mine each conversation for impact and insights. The ease of sharing highlights is a powerful tool.

  ### 11. Great for transcribing minutes.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The easiness of uploading zoom recordings for transcribing.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish it was free other than that I think it works very well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain allows me to produce transcriptions of Board Meetings that would normally take me longer to transcribe if I was just listening to the video.

  ### 12. Must have for meetings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The fact that I can quickly get a list of everything discussed during the meeting without the need to rewatch the recording or take notes during the meeting.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

It'd be nice to make recordings without a meeting. For example, to create demo videos.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't forget important action items discussed during a meeting.

  ### 13. Great tool for training

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Ability to create highlights and quickly share them after hosting a zoom.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Stringing multiple highlights into a story is not an easy process.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

transcripts help me develop sales playbooks for clients and using their own words, exactly, adds credibility to my finished product, a sales messaging playbook

  ### 14. Overall a great product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Does everything that you need for a call recorder / transcriber. It provides you with helpful summaries from your calls and allows you to send over specific portions, "highlights".

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There are certain features that you expect after using platforms like Gong or Chorus, which aren't available in Grain. Take for instance the ability to remove the first 5 mins of a call.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It records our calls which is helpful both you and the client involved in the call.

  ### 15. Lot's of potentional but room for improvement.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Importing files from sources other than Zoom is more valuable than I anticipated.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

File size limits. Inability to trim silence. Summary is a list, not a summary. Inability to find/replace globally. Inability to train for specific words.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcription of meetings to find action items.

  ### 16. Essential for my workflows and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anika Z. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The UI is very intuitive and easy to share out with others. I like that you can copy out all links to clips/highlights easily with one button - I always use this with Notion. I also like that I can sync my Zoom meetings from before or upload a downloaded video after the fact.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish that shareable clips with folks who don't have a Grain account could also have an optional transcript and that guests could leave comments. I understand it probably makes sense at that point to add the folks you collaborate with as members on your Grain account.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is helping your meetings become more meaningful. Instead of conducting a call and forgetting about all the gems and action items, you can record, reflect on, annotate, and share the essential parts of your meetings. Grain has been benefitting me precisely in this regard; things simply don't fall through the cracks any more.

  ### 17. Excellent tool for teams doing research!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

-Automates recording & transcriptions
-Can create clips & video reels for sharing internal insights with ease
-AI summary is a helpful, up & coming feature

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

-Ownership of recordings can sometimes get a little wonky when multiple folks with the integration are on a call
-AI summary could be more powerful if I could input what my core questions / goals are for calls

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly helping me automate note-taking for moderated research and easily share clips/insights with my internal team.

  ### 18. Easy to use and get details you need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Transcripts are easy to work with. The recorder consistenly joins calls, which has been a problem with other tools I've used in the past. I use Highlights frequently to share insights across my team. It works.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The UI can be a bit clunky, and searching could be more intuitive, specifically with easier filtering to find what you're looking for.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording all calls with our customers, and highlighting important insights that need to be revisited or shared more widely.

  ### 19. Easy to create and share videos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsey A. | Business Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Can invite to meetings easily and automatically so do not have to manually remember to record meetings

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Have to remember to set permissions to share links

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great to have meetings and trainings and use later for new employees

  ### 20. Really great and easy meeting recording tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brice B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love the speed of which the recording is produced. Within a couple minutes of the meeting concluding, the recording is ready for our clients.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish there was an client option for downloading the meeting recording. Currently this is only available for users in the Grain account.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Convenience and ease of sharing meeting recordings. We use Zoom as our primary conferencing tool, but it takes several extra steps to get recordings pulled.

  ### 21. Essential note taker for all of our customer meetings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain allows us to surface key moments and insights from our customer calls and easily share them internally. This helps the entire team coalesce around product and customer needs. Product managers love hearing direct quotes from customers.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Transcriptions of conversations with heavy accents can have inaccuracies from time to time

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain transcriptions keep getting better and better. I also love how it is better understanding key themes and moments that happen in calls.

  ### 22. Grain is intuitive to use and is saving me an incredible amount of time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandynn S. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I was able to start using Grain quickly - I didn't have to watch tons of instructional videos or read lots of articles. The process was simple - upload a video, see the transcript. And then being able to quickly scan through that transcript and choose segments to be turned into mini-videos was a great help in creating my overall video. Instead of having to watch and re-watch the original video and create my own segments, I could do it all with a few clicks in Grain.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I ran into a little bit of trouble when downloading my segments but I think that was more user error than anything with Grain. I think I was expecting the segments to be downloaded too quickly and so when I would go to do another there was some overlap that made things confusing. Would be nice to see a more clear status bar or something. But once I slowed down and made sure the segment had downloaded before moving on to another, then things smoothed out.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We recently put together a highlight reel of five different presenters and needed to take bits of their hour-long presentations and create a segment for each person that was only 5 minutes long. Thinking of doing that all manually was daunting! Then we found Grain and they saved the day. Finding the parts we wanted to turn into segments was a breeze and allowed us to move on the assembling the final reel.

  ### 23. Great for user interviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikolas M. | Assistant Professor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain helps my research teams conduct user interviews and allows our team to take synchronized notes. Grain also created high-quality machine transcripts that allow our teams to capture highlight moments quickly. This has helped to team to both take better notes and get more out of our user research data.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Two things that could be improved are team management - I have lots of students using the tool for small projects and it has been a bit challenging to manage when they have access to the tool and I pay and when they are on a free account. I have also found that sometimes the desktop application does not always turn on automatically when I start to record. Automatically setting up meetings to record to Grain does not work for my team since we need to collect consent before turning on the recording.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is making it easier for us to record and transcribe user research interviews and to create highlight clips from those user interviews. This reduces the number of tools we need to use and cuts down on our analysis time when reviewing interviews

  ### 24. Very simple, good to use, but confusing for other participants?

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeanette P. | Production Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The UI was very clean and easy to navigate, and my first usage was pretty straightforward. I really liked the easily sharable page with a video and transcript - wasn't expecting all of that. All in all, it was a satisfactory experience, and I'm definitely going to use it again!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I was a little confused as to how I'd start the recording. I figured it out, but I was stumped for a minute. Maybe a walkthrough tip trail the first time would help? Also, my other participant was thrown off by there being an entire other "person" in the Zoom, although that's necessary and not really something that could be changed, I guess.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain was an affordable option that didn't require me to have some fancy, expensive business pro account or anything. I'm just a freelance writer who needs a dependable recorder and transcription app! I'm grateful that this is out there and so easy to use.

  ### 25. It just works and does exactly what I'd expect it to.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trey H. | Founder/CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Definitely alternatives to be considered but we had a sales coach we really trust recommend Grain because of the transcription and organization structure. I like that I never have to remember to add it, it just syncs to my cal and joins calls. Super useful product.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The nature of it joining all the time is that sometimes I don't want it to join a call I'm in. It's pretty easy to do this ahead of time, but definitely worth just keeping in mind to be proactive about it because some people really don't like being recorded.
Also seems like there is a huge opportunity to provide after-the-call analytics in telling me how much i talked more than the client, how fast i talked etc.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to not take notes and just focus entirely on meeting the person I'm talking about. Basically it's an alternative for handwriting notes on every meeting i take

  ### 26. Essential Source of Truth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is at the heart of our day-to-day operations.

We use it to:

* Provide visual meeting recaps to clients & partners
* Capture high impact moments on delivery meetings
* Provide real-world training & support to our team

We've all had the experience of having the same meeting about the same thing. Grain has proven the antidote - everyone can see for themselves how our product is working, what the feedback from stakeholders is, and when we are making a big difference.

I couldn't imagine working without it.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

When creating video clips, it can take a minute or two for them to render. One of Grain's most powerful features is embedding video clips in docs like Notion & Coda, so I just have to remember to be patient before pasting in the link.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain is helping us create an unarguable source of truth on the experience we create for our customers & employees.

Seeing it for yourself is the highest impact data point you can provide to any one.

We've even built Case Studies entirely from Grain clips!

  ### 27. indispensable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 🛠 zac e. | UX Academy Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is the ultimate alignment tool for our teams. From customer engagement to internal department meetings, it's become an essential tool for business.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Not much to dislike! Grain does one thing and does it well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying aligned in an async/remote-first world. I never have to worry about missing context and can prioritize my day better, knowing that anything relevant to me or my team will be captured.

  ### 28. My secret weapon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Being able to record quick video snippets is a game changer as a PM.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Could be a little bit faster to process videos

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me align internal stakeholders around customer conversations

  ### 29. Great craft, easy to use and smooth user experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matias F. | Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Speaking from a designer's perspective, I am impressed by the quality of the craft and the attention to detail. Design patterns are spot on, the app is very fluent and super easy to use.
Transcriptions seems to be very accurate so far.
Kudos to the Grain team for crafting such a good product.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Perhaps the fact that if you close a tab during an upload, you lost the progress, this should happen in the background no matter what, the UX can incorporate a way to do this. I am sure I can come up with more some areas of improvement over time, but I'll need to use the app for longer.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A much better way to share meeting recordings and to take notes. There are cases where meetings can be very nuanced and complicated to digest, Grain is demonstrating to greatly help in that sense.

  ### 30. Great experience, great for coaching or insight sharing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Near instantaneous upload speeds and link-based viewing. Combined, these two features make it incredibly easy for me to share the insights from my customers with my team.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish there was the ability to add (or dynamically already have added) a metadata tag to the video recordings so that I can auto-attach the recording to the meeting and customer ids in my CRM.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sales performance coaching and improvement, customer feedback and insight sharing with all members of the team, generated high value snippets of content that are useful for marketing.

  ### 31. Loving Grain

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nash C. | Project Lead and Workflow Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that it is a one-stop app for video recording and transcription.
Grain helps us cut down on the transcription process of our team, instead of downloading the video and having one of the EAs manually transcribe it for us grain does that.
The note-taking feature of the app is another thing to love, I can easily take notes and create the important highlights then circle back with my EAs to create the minutes of the meeting.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Personally, I think the transcription accuracy needs more work, but it is given for a new app. Probably the AI will improve as more users use the platform. None the less awesome work to the grain team.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain has cut down on our Minutes of the Meeting workflow.
It also saves us a lot of time sharing the recordings to potential clients and investors.

  ### 32. A great way of sharing context, sustinctly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katelyn M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love the highlights feature, it allows me to share with my team only the relevant information without making them watch hours of content

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Weve had to built some integrations that I wish were standard to automate processing product feedback from customers. Opportunities for more AI integrations

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving communication between Growth and Product teams, content summary clips for marketing, Sales coaching and auditing

  ### 33. A game changer if you do sales or customer calls.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain has really improved our sales and customer development processes. It's a flawless way to make sure calls are recorded and transcribed easily.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Wish it had even deeper AI capabilities (but I'm pretty sure it's coming, and my team is super excited).

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us improve our sales process by sending easy links to recordings with smart AI summaries and transcriptions.

  ### 34. Convenient sharing of qualitative insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Logan W. | Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain is a great companion tool for anyone doing qualitative interviews or research studies. I like that it combines the convenience of note-taking during a call with automatic transcriptions and makes sharing the recording (and specific snippets of the recording) super easy. One small thing I love is that video snippets can be viewed in slack without having to leave the slack conversation. It makes the sharing of clips much more effective.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The automatic transcriptions are pretty good, but not perfect. As is always the case with these. And I don't know of a way to nicely export the transcript. If you try to copy and paste a quote from the transcript, the formatting is a little wonky.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It removes several steps and clicks from the process of sharing qualitative insights; saves time while note-taking and sharing.

  ### 35. A great Call recording and Analysis tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Umar Y. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Auto Call recording
AI features
Highlights creation
Auto Summary

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Initially it was the google meet integration.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Auto Recording, AI summary and Transcript

  ### 36. Effortless Zoom recordings and transcriptions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke B. | Content Marketing Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Zoom has built-in recording functionality, but it auto-saves to your computer (which then you have to upload to Google Drive or somewhere else if you want to share). What I love about Grain is that you can automatically upload the recordings to a shared workspace for other people on the team to view immediately. They make it easy to set up recordings ahead of time (you can select which future calls you're going to record) and the automatic transcriptions are a huge bonus.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I'm still figuring out some of the features, so I think the onboarding could be improved.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to regularly record customer interviews in my role, so Grain has been great for recording these calls, sharing them with the team, and transcribing them so we can write them up for customer stories.

  ### 37. It has been a really helpful tool , it has a lot of great useful features.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aayush K. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The number of features that grain provides is so valuable for day-to-day calls, the way in which I just have to upload a video to see the transcription and make small clips from the video so that I do not have to see the entire video again is so good!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

A walkthrough or product tour might be helpful for first-time users to explore the tool more efficiently, also if in some way we can remove the third bot which joins the call, which is distracting for some reason.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a much better way to take notes in a meeting without getting distracted or without missing anything, It allows me to not take notes and just focus entirely on meeting the person I'm talking about.

  ### 38. Great platform to share UXR insights in the form of video stories

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua H. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love the fact that I can make notes directly with Grain and it immediately creates a 15second-30second highlight of that note. Of course, I'm able to go back to the transcript and make adjustments if needed but it's super handy.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I'm a user researcher, so when I do field research where there is very little conversation involved, it feels impossible to use grain since I can only make highlights based on the transcription. So if there is no one speaking say for 30 minutes, I cannot select any portion of that 30 minutes as a highlight.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing insights via videos is a huge benefit because my stakeholders more easily empathize when they hear or see things directly from the consumer rather than hearing it from me in a slide deck.

  ### 39. Grain has helped support our work making tracking research so much easier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

We can mark important moments and quotes for review. I love the ability to make stories which makes our research findings so powerful.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I can't be in Grain and write up notes at the same time. To do it right we need a third person. Grains AI function doesnt summarise answers to my questions well enough to only use one tool.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marking up complex research interview notes so we can revisit / grab quotes
Making videos for our clients summarising our research and bringing it to life for them

  ### 40. Grain is a time-saver and team accelerator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sun K. | Chief Product Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love being able to watch at 2x speed with an accurate transcription. I also love highlighting and saving clips to review or send to teammates later. I can save at least 50% of my time reviewing a meeting, identifying the most important parts, and distilling that information to the team. Jumping around in the meeting is a breeze through the transcription. Grain is a tremendously useful tool for reviewing recorded meetings.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Sometimes, the transcription is a little off, but it is rarely an issue because there's enough context around the missed transcription.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I almost prefer missing meetings because it's so much more efficient to watch the recording at 2x speed after. I'm able to capture key thoughts quickly and share memorable sections to the rest of my team.

  ### 41. Great platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine C. | Leadership Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The platform is straight to the point and simple - very user friendly! We used to use PerfectRecall until they stopped. I was concerned I wouldn't find a platform similar enough to PerfectRecall. I am happy to report it's nearly the same - and better!

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I wish I could speed up more than just 2x. I also wish I could create folders to be able to organize my videos. (Our Grain account is used for many different areas of work - this would help find videos faster as well).

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use grain to produce media content for social platforms and my business. This cuts the time down in creating social media posts as I can easily recall a specific section I want to highlight.

  ### 42. Cool product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordyn D. | Associate, Business Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I loved that I did not have to transcribe my own recording. This was so helpful when I had a very long meeting that I had to take notes for. It was great to know I had the transcription available if I missed any notes during the meeting. I also thought it was cool that the system identified different speakers.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I found that the audio did not capture a lot of words correctly or would not pick up some of the audio. This is partially due to people speaking quietly or mumbling.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is solving the issue of having to take meeting notes. It's awesome that I don't have to be a scribe during the meeting and can actually listen and engage in the conversation.

  ### 43. Very useful recording software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moe G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The text Summary at the end of my calls, the transcript, as well as the ability to generate Highlight clips.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

I cannot think of anything, I am very satisfied.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording the Zoom calls and generating a summary after every coaching call so I can easily document.

  ### 44. Great solution to document calls and get insights to keep all the team informed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven H. | Coda Builder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

The solution is reliable. Having the grain recorder join all the zoom calls automatically ensures you never miss a recording that could contain precious information. It's also a huge time-saver, since you don't have to manually upload zoom recordings, like you do in other similar platforms.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Hard to say. Sometimes, the pricing for teams could be a bit prohibitive, but it still adds a lot of value, so it's still worth paying for.
Maybe generating a mashup of key sections of a recording to share it easily?

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us making sure all the calls we have in the team and with customers are recorded and centralized in a single source of truth for future revision and also for team cooperation

  ### 45. Game changer for iterative product discovery insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Curtis V. | Product and UX Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

- Automated workflows for quickly capturing insights
- Easily share insights for increased visibility across the company
- Simple desktop app for flagging key moments

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

* Could improve video exports to include closed captioning for presentations

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Productivity related to customer discovery calls and sharing out insights

  ### 46. Great solution for transcript and recording

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Their transcript and call summaries are super useful. I used to take a transcript and move it to chat GPT to do the summary and now I have everything in one place.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

There is no support for additional language.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer call recording

  ### 47. Love the outcome, but some prep time is required to get it right 100%

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josie H. | Solutions Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love that recordings are THERE in the Grain account, and each is dated and named as per the meeting name. I love the transcript feature. So much easier with Grain than looking for a video on Zoom.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

Not all my Zoom calls have generated a Grain recording. I think it is a setting I didn't get right, and I have been having issues with Zoom...probably my fault but I was in such a rush to get started.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My meetings are automatically recorded and accessible. My teams meeting recordings are accessible, which gives me a vast resource - like being able to see how my colleagues have tackled the same objective in their meetings.

  ### 48. Loved the friendliness

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhijeet K. | Freelance Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love how specifically Grain understands most of the words. It reduces my work by upto 75-85%. Instead of spending hours listening to the audio, rewinding, fast forwarding and repeat, I can just upload them to Grain, and get the text.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The identifying algorithm still needs some work. Some of the words miss the mark and the text just look plain gibberish. If only it has an internal AI grammar checker, the sentences would be what makes sense, as actually spoken in the context.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Grain to transcribe client audio instructions and briefs. And it reduces my work by upto 75-85%. I know I can do more with Grain, and waiting for that opportunity to explore it further.

  ### 49. Grain has drastically improved my ability to communicate

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel K. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Grain?**

Grain has transformed the way I communicate with internal stakeholders, full stop. I use Grain to document development stories, conduct user interviews, get feedback from internal stakeholders, and interview potential candidates.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The interface can be a bit glitchy and the transcription isn't always very accurate. I have had a few nearly embarrassing situation where words were attributed to an individual that were not in fact said

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grain has transformed the way I communicate with internal stakeholders, full stop. I use Grain to document development stories, conduct user interviews, get feedback from internal stakeholders, and interview potential candidates.

  ### 50. Fantastic tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Grain?**

I love how quickly I can go from an interview to a transcription.

**What do you dislike about Grain?**

The transcription isn't perfect (yet), but works pretty well.

**What problems is Grain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to be able to analyze interviews I conduct online, so transcription is really important.
