  ### 9. Gradelink

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink is easy to use and has all the information we need regarding students at our fingertips.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

There are a few reports that we would like to be able to manipulate what data we export/download (EnrollMe & GPA & Scores report). Also it would be nice if when we email a class all of the teachers assigend to that class are automatically included in the email as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

We are a small school of around 150 students and this system works very well for keeping all of our student information in one secure place that can be accessed from any computer with internet service. It is a tremendous help to our school!!

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enrollment is much easier. Also, using the excel export we are able to create various forms in Word and then use the Excel spreadsheet to import into the mail merge documents. This makes getting all our emergency information into a readable form for classrooms and field trip purposes a breeze!!

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> It makes our day to know you’re getting so many benefits out of Gradelink! We’re here for you, so please let your support rep know what changes you need to make to your reports and we’ll be glad to help.

There is nothing that I don't like about it.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am our high school's guidance counselor, so I use Gradelink quite a bit for various purposes.

  ### 11. Gradelink is a perfect system for my school.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron H. | Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink has a huge support staff and they are very willing to help! With any questions that arise, I always call or email and they get it taken care of.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I like being able to call or email Gradelink, but sometimes, it would be convenient if I could make the simple switch- adding graphics to my transcript or profile. They are very helpful though and get it taken care of in a very short time.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Use it! It is very easy to use and your students and parents alike will enjoy the features that Gradelink offer. In addition to the teacher tools, Gradelink hosts parents features that allows parents to see grades, assignments, and upcoming events. My school community has loved it!

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our school is required to have a student information system and Gradelink meets that need. The benefits that we have received have been huge! Parents enjoy being able to see the assignments for the students.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for sharing how much your school community is getting out of Gradelink, Aaron!

  ### 12. Gradelink is the best SIS out there!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin G. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink is a simple to use product that will satisfy the needs of schools in all departments. Teachers will benefit from a sophisticated, yet simple to use grade book. Students and parents will easily be able to track assignments and see grades as well as teacher's web pages. Office staff will benefit from family and student records that are well-organized and useful for billing and communication.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Some parts of Gradelink work independently from one another which can be a bit confusing to understand. For example, if you enter prospects into the database and those students decide to enroll, that information does not carry over to the students side.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Come up with a good migration plan during the summer and pay close attention to all the details so it is setup correctly. Train teachers and staff well and don't assume everyone understands what they are doing just because it seems simple.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gradelink has become are school-wide database for all student and parent information. Teachers keep grade books and automatically create report cards. Office staff keeps track of all student demographic information as well as billing families and collecting payments. All admissions is handled in Gradelink including the enrollment and re-enrollment process.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for such a well-thought-out review, Kevin! We’re here to help with training and support at no additional charge.

  ### 13. Gradelink saved us!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary O. | Assistant Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Ease of use, multifaceted, reliable, flexible,

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Honestly, there is nothing we dislike! We have been very happy!

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Get in touch with Gradelink for a walk-through.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving our registration, grading, communications (email, text..), clinic information, attendance, and end of year information. We began Gradelink after a terrible year with another product. We knew that staff and parents would lose faith in us if we chose another bad product. Gradelink made our shareholders happy in no time!

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thanks, Mary, we love a good success story!

  ### 14. Great Customer Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie B. | Assistant Principal, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

For me, the best part about gradelink is they are always working to improve their platform, and in terms of customer service, there is absolutely no one better!

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I find the interfaces difficult sometimes, and it is not always intuitive. It is customizable, however, there is a lot of repetitive information input in order to get it to function the way you would like. Also, their lesson plans feature looked like a company we were with formerly - Planbook, but when you begin to use it, you notice the slight differences that can be problematic, such as printing a lesson or laying out your lesson plans to include your whole day (including break periods), etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Be sure you give yourself time to set up the necessary features, but take comfort in the fact that Gradelink support will help you in two seconds if you get stuck.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to integrate a lot of SIS into one place. I really love that I can log into one system for my gradebook, planbook, administration features, and billing.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> You’re right, Stephanie, we are always working on improvements. That’s why we appreciate feedback like yours because it helps us understands what our customers need.

  ### 15. Great program for schools!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz A. | School secretary, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

It does everything for you ! All you have to do is input the information. The quarterly billing cycles that you can do are very helpful. It does all the reports for you and allows you to adjust according to your needs. The inactive child can easily be reactivated and adjusted if needed. Overall the program is so complete and has so many great tools to make my job easier as a school secretary. Parent involvement is so easy too because you can give them a log in to access their child's account and see their progress and attendance. What else can I say we truly enjoy using the program here at our school and was recommended to us from other schools around the state! Great tech service too and friendly staff to answer any questions we might call and have. Always have video webinars that are easy to sign up for and so informative and helpful. Finance department is very helpful also with any questions we have had in the past about our account. The only thing is that you have to pay for the payment option for the parents to pay online through Gradelink. Which when used I bet makes it even better and easier to do the financial report. Instead of having to input all of it yourself, when they pay with a credit card.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I wish there was more flexibility or variability with how the reports were created.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

This will make running the office a lot easier. It has so many categories that help with being able to stay on top of all your work.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less paperwork for the office in payments department!

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for the rave review, Liz! We’re delighted that Gradelink is making things so much easier for you.

  ### 16. Easy to use, easy to train new teachers on and great support from Gradelink staff.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny S. | Highschool Science and Math teacher and onsite technology person, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I recently started using the Lesson plan function and I really like being able to access my lesson plans from any where as well as being able to upload files to a lesson for future use and the ability to add an assignment to the Gradesheet from the lesson plan (then I don't have to figure out what date the assignment will be given on or when it will be due). It also is easy to extend or bump lessons as needed (much nicer than erasing plans from a plan book when things don't go exactly as planned).

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Within the lesson plans, one thing I would appreciate is the ability to block out non school days. This would help in planning to be able to block out vacations such that lesson plans would skip over those days. Another thing that would be helpful with in the lesson plan is that when a plan is bumped or extended, for the assignment due date to bump or extend as well. Once I start making changes to the lesson plans, the gradesheet doesn't update and it can be confusing for my students looking at assignment due dates.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

I would highly recommend Gradelink to another school looking for an online grading and information system.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gradelink has made generating report cards and transcripts easy.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> We’re honored by your recommendation, Jenny! And thank you for your feedback on lesson plans because it helps us continue to make improvements.

  ### 17. Amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer B. | Math Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I love the instant communication with parents and the ease of using this program. Parents can get instant access to grades. Parents can set up grade alerts to monitor student progress which reduces the need of the teacher to communicate low grades to parents. I can leave comments on individual assignments to make scoring clearer to parents. Clear communication means less hassle at report card time!

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I haven't quite figured out the lesson plan part of gradelink yet. I don't like the fact that I cannot run a report card from my teacher profile. I have to log in with my admin login information to do so. I cannot have the same user name as a teacher and an admin for gradelink. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth between my profiles without having to log out all the time.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

I have used other programs as a parent and I think that Gradelink is easier to understand from a parent perspective.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parent communication is simple and effective with Gradelink. I like being able to see a bell curve with assignments; it's a good indication of how well I taught the material.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for sharing how well Gradelink is working for your school, Jennifer! Good news: You can log in as an admin and a teacher simultaneously simply by logging in with different browser tabs. We can also change your setting to allow access to both at the same time. Please contact your service rep and they’ll be happy to help.

  ### 18. Easy for Both Teachers and Administration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimba A. | School Librarian, Libraries, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I enjoy the user-friendly interface of Gradelink. I was able to train my teachers how to use it in a matter of hours. As an administrator, I enjoy the use of the program. I am quickly able to see lesson plans, and log attendance when there is not enough time in the day to use paper and pencil or ordinary methods of keeping records. Grade link is also an easy way to add and remove students. My over all love of this program is the fact that it is web based (so I can use it anywhere) and very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Sometimes the system does not allow for you to use easy functions such as Copy and Paste from the mouse. You have to use keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste lesson plans. There are some options that I would like to see available from creating transcripts and report cards. I would like to personalize what we put on the transcripts and report cards such as specific terms.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to manage a small school. Gradelink is easy to use--especially for our teachers who do not have computer experience. It allows for use to all work on a specific task at the same time to finish deadlines such as progress reports, attendance reports or report cards. This is the easiest system that we have used in management of our school due to the user-friendly interface.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> It’s wonderful that teachers and administrators are finding Gradelink easy to work with, Kimba, and we value your input on improvements you’d like to see.

  ### 19. Gradelink is the One!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer O. | Principal, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

It is extremely easy to use and has many features which other companies charge extra to use. The help feature is great and there are video tutorials which make it easy when learning a new facet of Gradelink. I also like that parents can link multiple children accounts together for ease of use when viewing their children's information such as grades, attendance, and discipline reports. The feature to change the site into Spanish is also well utilized by one third of our parent population.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

There is nothing that I don't like about Gradelink. If I need something done with the data and can't find a place for it, I just call Gradelink and let them know. Once enough people have that suggestion, it becomes a reality. Most of the time, Gradelink makes improvements that I didn't even realize I needed. I highly recommend Gradelink to all of my principal friends.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

You will not be disappointed. The best part is that if you have trouble, their customer service folks are the best! They are patient, informative and timely in their responses.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great that I can use it to communicate with families via Smartsend Pro. We use to use a separate company as our robo call tool, but now Smartsend Pro does that and more. We have well utilized the mass email and texting features. We also use the voice option for robo calls. The best part is that it pulls directly from our Gradelink data base, so I know it is using the most up to date information. Prior to Smartsend Pro, I had to maintain a separate data base of parent information. It never failed that when I needed to send out an important message, we had not gotten around to updating changed or new phone numbers.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> We are honored by your endorsement, Jennifer! And we love hearing how well SmartSend Pro is meeting your school’s communication needs.

  ### 20. Wonderful Addition to our School

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alison T. | Head of Lower School/ IB Primary Years Program Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink is the first information system our school has had-what a wonderful tool! As Head of the Lower School, this system provides me with easy access to every student, family, and classroom. There are many useful components, and in our third year I feel that we are still discovering ways to use Gradelink. To have lesson plans, parent communication, family info, and grading all in one place has made my job much easier! Thank you, Gradelink!

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

In our short experience, we have struggled the most with feedback from parents about the Gradelink parent app. As a parent of a student myself, I find it much easier to log in on a desktop; however, if the app were more user friendly I think our parents would check things more frequently-making communication between home and school even easier!

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Easy to use system for a great cost!

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> It’s good to hear Gradelink is making your job easier, Alison! And thank you for your feedback on the student/parent mobile app; if you have ideas, we’d love to hear them.

  ### 21. Happily using Gradelink!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Very easy to use! I can't even think of a time where I had a problem or one that I couldn't fix easily. I have used Gradelink for the last 7 years!

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

The plan book option is not my favorite. I have tried to use it to see if it can replace our current planner, but it wasn't very easy to use and didn't have school standards and other options that other online plan books have.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Parents can easily see their child's average and GPA

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for being such a loyal customer! We’re happy to say that standards actually can be integrated with lesson plans – and gradebooks and report cards. Please contact your support rep and they’ll be glad to walk you through it.

  ### 22. Awesome!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

The easiness of the application. Very easy.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

The maintenance issues. Sometimes the application is down due to maintenance.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Take your time and look at the tutorials... They are very helpful.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grading, attendance,

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> We’re delighted you find Gradelink so easy to use! Sorry about the occasional service interruption; we work hard to make sure that happens as little as possible.

  ### 23. Gradelink makes my life so much easier!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margaret W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I love the ease of quickly obtaining demographic information for a student, quick access to vaccination information, and the ability to view certain population groupings at one time. I also LOVE the Staff text blast feature!

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I wish immunization requirements were pre-loaded for each state.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Gradelink will condense your current record-keeping system to one clear and concise program that is user-friendly and reliable. Information can easily be populated in specific groupings for ease of viewing. Want to see just 2nd grade Math reports? Easy. How about the Jones children's vaccination records? Done. Junior High tardies? Two clicks and you're there. The communication blast feature is essential for reaching staff and parents! This is a great product for our smaller elementary school with 335 students, we have been completely satisfied with Gradelink thus far!

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to condense several other methods of record keeping in to one concise site now! Attendance, medical info, demographic info, parent communication emails and text blasts, grades and teacher's reports, plus so much more...all in ONE place now, easily entered with a few clicks! We've experienced nothing but super-responsive tech support since switching back to Gradelink two years ago. Bravo!

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Wow, what a thorough review! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Gradelink, Margaret. You made our day!

  ### 28. Time Saver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I really appreciate the way the grade sheet is setup. I used to have to do all the averaging by hand, and it is great that it is all automatically calculated, both for the student for the quarter as well as the class average for each assignment. The copy and paste feature and being able to bump lessons are also wonderful tools. One other thing, I have never used a computer program for grading and lesson planning- after watching the intro video, it was very easy to navigate and set things up.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

The color scheme. It would also be helpful to have alternate colors/color hues for the gradesheet to differentiate between students, like you can set up in excel.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

It is an easy transition and has ease of use. There is almost no downtime in getting adjusted to the new system.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gradelink has been a huge time saver and key to staying organized with the lesson plans. It has improved communications between faculty members and between parents and teachers as well.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Our developers work hard to make Gradelink as easy to use as possible, so it’s gratifying to know you’ve enjoyed a smooth transition. And, we appreciate your suggestion on the gradesheet!

  ### 29. Pleased with Gradelink

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

The ease and simplicity of usage. It enables us to take roll efficiently, to keep track of both group and individual grades, and to contact parents and/or students as needed. When we initially enrolled in Gradelink, as a pilot program, we were unsure how to use a management system; however, Gradelink gave us excellent instruction, both via an online presentation and a question/response period that enabled us to be walked through the program.
Putting in the individual students was not difficult, but it took time. However, once all of the names were in, we were able to use the program as needed.
One benefit that we have seen that we didn't expect was the ability to use information in the system to notify other individuals on a need-to-know basis to help the individual student. The special education department has been very impressed with how we can give them updates on the individual student.
Plus, as an administrator, I can monitor students who are at risk to ensure that they are making adequate progress or if intervention is required.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I don't like my inability to have a text go out to parents. This is not Gradelink's fault since we did not purchase this for the current school year, but will for the next year. This year was just a pilot program with our middle school.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Make sure you get the texting/voice additions since many parents use that instead of email.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. Payment has been simple and the costs have been more than reasonable.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> We’re thrilled that you’re pleased and getting so much out of Gradelink! We look forward to serving your school for years to come. Whenever you need it, help is available by phone, email and online at no additional charge.

  ### 30. I love using Gradelink to fill most all of our school needs.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I love the gradebook and report cards. They are easy to use and come out great. I love that they use our logo and look very professional.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I wish we could run class lists easier with enrollment totals. I also wish we could print report cards from previous years.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

It is a great program that has a lot of components and replaces other programs you may have used in the past.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping our records and allowing us to send emails easily to large groups. We also like having a private homepage for our families to log into. It is a great way to give some information to families while keeping it private.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> It’s great to hear that Gradelink is fulfilling so many of your school community’s needs. Please contact your support rep to see what we can do to help you get the lists and report cards you’re looking for.

  ### 31. Gradelink has been a lifesaver for our school.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew C. | School Technology Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

We are so thankful for Gradelink. The customer service is fantastic and questions are answered quickly. When we have had issues that require more than a day to fix, they keep us updated as they work through the problem solving steps.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

The lesson plan functions could use some updating and there are some items that we would like to be able to customize more like our report cards.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small private school in Texas that has found this to be the very best SIS and all around program for our school. We see the benefit of a company that is timely with responses and is constantly updating and adding features.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> “…the very best SIS…” Wow, thanks, Matthew! If you haven’t already, please talk with your support rep about what changes you’d like to see in Lesson Plans because we’re always looking for ways to make Gradelink even more useful.

  ### 32. Reliable, efficient, flexible, great customer service/support.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie A. | Secretary, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Tags and Export Features which allow me to create custom reports/rosters/etc.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Directory format which does not result in a professional looking booklet. I am not able to export this to change the format and add my school contact information, teacher contact information or edit out addresses or phone numbers which some parents do not want released. I must create this completely separately.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now utilize Gradelink to the fullest extent that our subscription allows. All staff can go directly to one source for current student information, class information, parent contact information, medical information, etc. We do not have different versions of phone and email addresses, wondering which is up to date.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> We appreciate your feedback on what’s working and what you’d like to see improved, Julie! Input from our schools plays a valuable role in our ongoing product development.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

Highly recommend except for no calendar integration.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Account tracking and billing is simplified and professional.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Good news: Adding the calendar to the app and integration with Google Classroom are in development, so stay tuned for updates.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Several times, Gradelink went down in the middle of report card generation.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication with parents

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> While we’re excited to hear you’re getting so much use out of Gradelink, we’re sorry you experienced some connectivity issues, Alyssa. We strive to eliminate service interruptions, but there are occasions when it happens due to circumstances beyond our control.

**Reviewed by:** Chris F. | Administrator/Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I like that Gradelink is the most intuitive electronic grade and information system that I have ever used. I have been teaching for 19 years. A few of the other programs that I have used have been cumbersome for either the teacher or the parents to access information. Gradelink is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I can have great difficulty reaching someone by phone for support because the phone number is not published widely.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My school needs an integrated way to enter grades, attendance, managed contact and financial data. This program is helpful because one system helps us address these needs.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

  ### 43. Administrator and user of gradelink system for small school

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

This is a very complex school management system that can accommodate almost any requirement you might have. It allows for setting terms the way you need them and it has excellent mass and individual communication tools. It also comes with an app for students and parents, and can generate various reports, report cards, transcripts etc. It has a discipline system and attendance taking, all of these (including grades) with real time alerts for parents that they can customize (e.g. you get a notification any time a discipline mark is entered, or a tardy is recorded, or when the average for a subjects either drops bellow or goes above some preset customizable levels). the service and support is great and the price is not back breaking. It has some optional but very attractive features, like mass/individual sms, and on-line enrollment/re-enrollment. You can open several instances of gradelink, even under different user names in the same browser, and that is a plus for me as an admin. The system provides a lot of visual helps and mini-videos to explain the features, and if you call in the service is fast and knowledgeable. You can send messages in any kind of type of group you want, very flexible, and you can allow people to respond or not. You can post a newsletter on the opening page. You can easily conclude old term/create new terms in bulk, and promote/graduate students. All profiles allow you to post if you want a picture, for easy facial recognition of the student/faculty.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

It has a few minuses that, once addressed, could make this product even more attractive. The app is very rudimentary and has almost no customization available. Also, it lacks some essential functionalities that have parents always complain about it, e.g. it CAN"T access the calendar, the MAIN place where teachers post homework assignments and upcoming events! This is a glaring omission, and forces parents to log via a browser, which seems to defeat the purpose of having the app. Another frequent complaint I have from teachers is that on the web version (main version) you cannot customize colors of backgrounds and/or fonts, columns, etc. Some teachers are having color sensing impairments and the overall look of the product is dull, grayish and low contrast, making it harder for some of the teachers to properly see the details on page.
Also, some of the settings in various places of the software are buggy and counter-intuitive. The settings on terms and periods is very confusing and not well explained in the instructionals. The calculations used for the subject averages are confusing and not straightforward. Also, we would like to give some teachers limited access (view only) to some classes, but that is not possible. In the text messaging tool for communications, the amount of words allowed is way too small (150 characters). Also, the system keeps you logged in or not as the computer goes in standby or screen saver in a mysterious way (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't). For security reasons it should log you out by default any time one of these events happens. There is no way to give access to a teachers to the discipline system for all students.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

If you are switching from another system or even if you are completely new, make sure you have as much info exported/entered in a .csv or excel type file as possible, to minimize the amount of initial work you will be required to put in to have the system up and running. Splitting the tasks between two or three admins helps a lot! Everything you want in (addresses, bios, demographics, phone and emails, grading scale, discipline marks, attendance marks, etc, I mean everything) should be at hand in a .csv or excel file. The company will require a special formatting/structure of these files, but once you have it in any structure, you can work with it easily to rearrange. A good, solid sytem overall.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping grades accurately, communicating effectively with parents and students, Taking attendance, keeping tabs on discipline, good reporting, enrollment/re-enrollment via web, etc. Posting the newsletter online (visible in the app too). Midterm reports, report cards, GPA calculation in real time, transcripts, archive of alumni. You can keep in touch with the alumni too. Easy creating of new terms from old ones.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for such a well-thought-out review! We value input from administrators and teachers because it plays a vital role in our ongoing product development.

  ### 44. Great Solution for Unconventional Use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Top three reasons to work with Gradelink: Easy to work with, adaptable technology, local based company in the US. They have been extremely easy to work with in adapting their platform for a rather unique use. Virtually everything we needed the technology to due was "one-off." During the course of the pilot programs, we received NO complaints from any of the users about their ability to access our content.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Turnaround time for service requests or login creation can be delayed. That being said, we request several hundred uploads of accounts at a time. Overall their customer support is far better than other services we've used.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Delivery of pilot curriculum into school districts. Adapted technology for individual account delivery to teachers.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Glad to be of service!

  ### 45. No regrets!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melody B. | Assistant Administrator, teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink is easy to use. The spreadsheet style gradebook is easily navigated, and parents and students have easy access. As a teacher and administrator, I can access information from anywhere, just need wifi.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Some reports/fields can't be customized, but generally we can end up with everything we need.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Teachers, parents and students have access to grades online.
2. All student data is in one location, available digitally and easily accessible (grades, attendance, medical, contacts).
3. Administration has real time access to student data.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Our development team works hard to make Gradelink easy to use, so we appreciate your feedback, Melody!

  ### 46. User friendly in so many ways!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink has completely changed the way our school operates - for the better! It is user friendly for:
 teachers - attendance, grades, communication
registration - folks can enroll or re-enroll 24/7. Returning students information is pre-populated in the documents!
schoolwide communication - text, email, and voice messaging. Extremely easy in emergency situations!
school management - attendance, report cards, long term record keeping
parents - 24/7 access for student information and grades

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

Electronic communication excels, but there is an inability to create field-based hardcopy letters as other programs do. For example, Dear <Parent name> your child <student name> in our <student grade> class.....

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collection of registration fees online. Report cards are easy to complete. Paper usage has been reduced.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> It’s rewarding to know that Gradelink is working so well for your school!

  ### 47. Excellent student information system that is easy to manage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

Gradelink provides a complete student information system that facilitates parent communication and student record management.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I would like to see parents have clear control over what notifications they want to receive and their contact numbers. They should be able to easily turn off some contact numbers for non-emergency communications so that messages are not going to every number connected to a student. I would like to see the Apple School Manager (ASM) integration improved so that student records and class automatically sync with ASM.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

We have found Gradelink to be an excellent SIS for our school. The user interface is excellent, and the Gradelink programmers are constantly working to enhance the product. They also accept user feedback and try to incorporate user suggestions for improvement.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Gradelink for student grades and report cards, teacher web pages, parent communication, enrollment and Apple School Manager integration.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for your review, Greg! As you said, we value input from our schools because it helps us continually improve Gradelink.

The flexibility to customize the grading system and the report cards. I also like the user friendly way that Gradelink works.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I am in the Eastern Time Zone and Gradelink is in the Pacific Time Zone. If I need support, I have to wait a couple of hours in the morning to get help.

**Recommendations to others considering Gradelink:**

I've used two other management programs. Gradelink is the best one I've used.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Gradlink to manage our students and our classes.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Wow, “the best” – thank you, Wendell! We understand the time difference can be frustrating. Online help is always available by clicking on the question mark icon at the top of the screen in Gradelink. There you’ll find tons of useful articles and videos.

  ### 49. Gradelink Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin T. | Vice Principal/Registrar, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Gradelink?**

I like the gradebook and report cards. It is fast and easy.
I also like the video and step by step tutorials. They make Gradelink user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Gradelink?**

I would like the option of printing SAT/ACT scores on the transcripts. And I haven't found a way to put both Pass/Fail grades and percentage grades on a transcript.

**What problems is Gradelink solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I LOVE the online enrollment function. We have several international students each year and this makes enrollment much easier for them.

**Official Response from Phil Moffitt:**

> Thank you for the review, Robin! If you haven’t already, please talk to your support rep and they’ll be happy to see what they can do for you.
