I love how easy GovSpend is to use. Being able to build searches and find the information I'm looking for, and then bounce back and forth between those searches really saves a lot of time. It also has an easy to use UI, making it quick to pick up and learn. The records go back quite some time, so we're able to really look at a historical view of a potential customer's purchasing to understand how those patterns may have changed over time. You have to really know your competitors or what terms you need to search for. This is because GovSpend pulls in the information from the PO or other sources, and the purchasing agency may have listed the vendor name or product name or description as something different than expected, making it difficult to find when running a search unless you know what to look for. For example, if I'm searching for agencies that have bought a competitor's product, I not only search for the product name, but the competitor company name, and keyword descriptors for that product to ensure that I'm not missing anything.
