Earlier, if someone had a file on their laptop, everyone else had to wait. Or if that person wasn’t available, work just stopped. With tools like Google Drive and Google Docs, the file isn’t “owned” by one person in that way—anyone with access can continue the work. That removes a lot of bottlenecks. It also fixes the issue of lack of visibility. Instead of guessing who did what, you can actually see edits, comments, and updates happening. That makes collaboration clearer and avoids misunderstandings. For me, the benefit is that work feels less stuck. Before using it, things were honestly a bit chaotic files in different places, sending documents again and again, and not knowing which version is the latest. It used to waste a lot of time and create unnecessary stress. With Google Workspace, everything just feels more in control. You can work on the same document with your team at the same time, and see changes instantly. There’s no need to keep sharing updated files. Plus, your work gets saved automatically, so you don’t have to worry about losing anything. Another nice thing is that you can access your work from anywhere your phone, laptop, or any device. Everything stays in one place, which makes life much easier. It’s very annoying because once a spreadsheet reaches that amount, it becomes impossible to work with. I like the fact that everythins is just connected, easy to manage and reliable in general. We get a generous amount of storage space if you're a small company and it really helps to have all these handy extra features on the backpocket always ready to be used. What problems is Google Workspace solving and how is that benefiting you? Before we used to have self hosted email which landed on the spam folder 60% of the time. After switching to Google Workspace the number of times our emails have gone to spam is 0% and it also has the security features which removes phishing / malicious emails before we ever see them. One thing I’d say about Google Workspace is that whenever you think of a feature, it's just there. Anything you need to do, Google has a tool for it. Also, if you're sending a quick calendar invite, adding guests to a meeting, collaborating on a spreadsheet, or putting together a presentation -- it just works perfectly. It doesn't lag at all, which is huge. I really like the UI, but honestly, it might just be that I’ve used it for so long that it feels like home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Google Workspace? Honestly, it’s getting a little expensive. I get why, but when you look at competitors like Zoho, they’re just far more affordable for what you’re getting. My other big issue is the admin side of things. There are so many policies everywhere that it makes it a headache to change anything. It feels like you have to go in and tweak a policy for every little move you make in the workspace. I’m just not a fan of that -- it should be a lot easier for an admin to get things done without jumping through so many hoops. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Google Workspace solving and how is that benefiting you? One of the biggest problems Google Workspace is solving, I think, is that it keeps things organized and in one place, so the team isn't scattered. Without Workspace, our team has to use different tools, but Google makes it so easy that everything is in the same email, the same calendar, the same document, the same worksheet. It's all the same, and anyone could collaborate. This is a great benefit: just pure speed. We don't have to wait for someone to email a file back and forth -- we can all just jump into the same link and get it done right then and there. I love how easy the UI is across most of the applications. Google Sheets is fantastic and really versatile. The dropdown tabs are my favourite feature, and they make organising both work and personal projects a breeze. As a graphic designer, I also enjoy the product illustrations that pop up from time to time to highlight new features. The platform integrates really well with my workflow, and the applications feel quick, with no lag. We use Google Drive to organise and share our files, which saves us a lot of time. Gemini has also been really helpful in the media viewer, especially for things like generating a transcript for a video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Google Workspace? There are a few things that Google could do better. For example, Google Slides can be a pain to work with sometimes. Although it’s more collaborative than programs like PowerPoint, it’s frustrating that it doesn’t have as many design features, such as a lack of animations and effects. It can also be difficult to find past presentations I’ve worked on if there isn’t a shortcut link saved to Drive. There’s also an annoying zoom issue: when I try to zoom in on a slide, the top and side panels zoom in as well, which can be really frustrating. It's also extreamly tedius to import videos and apply playback settings. Gmail is another platform that needs work. Parts of it feel modern and accessible, but other areas seem very dated. For example, it can be hard to keep track of an email thread sometimes because everything appears in the wrong order and gets very confusing. That said, the overall dashboard when I log in is lovely. The suite of tools that seamlessly integrate with each other as well as third-party tools makes work very efficient. The tools that allow sharing make collaboration effective and timely. The UI makes it easy to find the tools you need. The security features allow administrators to secure assets and develop policies to prevent unauthorised access. All of these come with a great price point, and you can access the tools from any device, so you don't need to worry about providing high-end machines to staff, as performance is not a factor to be concerned about. Most people use the Microsoft Office suite of tools, like Word, which doesn't integrate directly with Google Workspace.
