I really like how many things Google Workspace includes for our company, like Gmail for emails, Google Chat for messaging, Google Meet for meetings, Google Calendar, Google Docs for collaborating, and Google Sheets for spreadsheet work. It's great that everything is in one place and connected, which saves time daily and improves the working experience. The addition of AI integrated features, like Gemini and the new Google Workspace AI Studio, is really appealing. Automations that we would have done with external software can now be done directly in Google Workspace natively, which is a game-changer. Google Apps Script for automating things is also very beneficial. In comparison to other tools like Microsoft Teams for business, I think Google Workspace offers more relevant and useful features, despite having slightly fewer apps. Unbeatable IAM. The collaboration side is honestly unmatched. Having multiple people in the same doc or sheet at the same time works exactly the way you’d expect, no version conflicts and no “who has the file open” nonsense. In my opinion, Gmail is still the best email client out there. And the fact that everything just works together (Calendar, Drive, Docs, Meet) without you having to think about it is a big deal. What do you dislike about Google Workspace? The admin console can feel like a maze. Settings are spread across different sections, and it’s not always clear where a particular option lives. I’ve definitely spent more time than I’d like clicking around to find a specific policy or setting. Once you learn where everything is, it’s fine, but the learning curve is real. Sheets also still isn’t quite at Excel’s level for heavier data work. For 90% of what I need it’s fine, but if you’re doing anything more power-user-y, you’ll notice the gap. One thing that gets annoying with Google Workspace is that it’s almost too simple sometimes. For example, in Google Docs or Google Sheets, when you want to do something slightly advanced—like complex formatting or heavy data work—you start feeling the limits. It’s smooth for everyday use, but not always powerful enough when things get detailed. Also, working fully online isn’t always ideal. If the internet is slow or unstable, everything—from Google Drive to file access—starts lagging, which can break your flow. And sometimes the constant sharing and permissions can get messy. Files floating around, multiple versions, access issues—it’s easy to lose track if things aren’t organized properly. Earlier, if someone had a file on their laptop, everyone else had to wait. Or if that person wasn’t available, work just stopped. With tools like Google Drive and Google Docs, the file isn’t “owned” by one person in that way—anyone with access can continue the work. That removes a lot of bottlenecks. It also fixes the issue of lack of visibility. Instead of guessing who did what, you can actually see edits, comments, and updates happening. That makes collaboration clearer and avoids misunderstandings. For me, the benefit is that work feels less stuck. Before using it, things were honestly a bit chaotic files in different places, sending documents again and again, and not knowing which version is the latest. It used to waste a lot of time and create unnecessary stress. With Google Workspace, everything just feels more in control. You can work on the same document with your team at the same time, and see changes instantly. There’s no need to keep sharing updated files. I would love a Google Assistant that could go through the entire Google Workspace to assist with all my requests. I like being able to share and collaborate on the same document with my team. It’s really powerful to have several members of the team working together at the same time. The only thing I dislike about Google Workspace is that Google Spreadsheets has a limit of 10 million cells. It’s very annoying because once a spreadsheet reaches that amount, it becomes impossible to work with. I like how Google Workspace lets me take emails and easily add them as calendar events or tasks, which helps me stay organized. I’m not used to having all my emails land in my inbox at first and then sorting them afterward. I also don’t like that I can’t get a badge notification icon on the desktop app I created. Google Workspace gives us a verified domain for email, which helps reduce spam. It also supports calendar sharing across departments, so it’s easier to stay organized. I like that it connects email, chat, and tasks in one place, which improves collaboration. Google Drive has also helped by saving us storage, and Gemini, the AI, has saved us time on admin work. I like the fact that everythins is just connected, easy to manage and reliable in general. What problems is Google Workspace solving and how is that benefiting you? Before we used to have self hosted email which landed on the spam folder 60% of the time. After switching to Google Workspace the number of times our emails have gone to spam is 0% and it also has the security features which removes phishing / malicious emails before we ever see them. One thing I’d say about Google Workspace is that whenever you think of a feature, it's just there. Anything you need to do, Google has a tool for it. Also, if you're sending a quick calendar invite, adding guests to a meeting, collaborating on a spreadsheet, or putting together a presentation -- it just works perfectly. It doesn't lag at all, which is huge. I really like the UI, but honestly, it might just be that I’ve used it for so long that it feels like home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Google Workspace? Honestly, it’s getting a little expensive. I get why, but when you look at competitors like Zoho, they’re just far more affordable for what you’re getting. My other big issue is the admin side of things. There are so many policies everywhere that it makes it a headache to change anything. It feels like you have to go in and tweak a policy for every little move you make in the workspace. I’m just not a fan of that -- it should be a lot easier for an admin to get things done without jumping through so many hoops. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. One of the biggest problems Google Workspace is solving, I think, is that it keeps things organized and in one place, so the team isn't scattered. Without Workspace, our team has to use different tools, but Google makes it so easy that everything is in the same email, the same calendar, the same document, the same worksheet. It's all the same, and anyone could collaborate. This is a great benefit: just pure speed. We don't have to wait for someone to email a file back and forth -- we can all just jump into the same link and get it done right then and there.
