It is quite reminiscent of Macromedia (Adobe) Flash, but simplified. As someone that previously was not a fan of using flash, this seemed to be a bit more direct and user friendly. There are ample templates available, so it may allow for exciting ads to be created in even less time. **What do you dislike about Google Web Designer?** All of the templates and options seemed unnecessary, and some of them didn't even work. Plus the saving structure creates A LOT of extra supporting files, so file a management from the very beginning is CRUCIAL. If files get misplaced after it's created it essentially corrupts the whole file and won't even open again. There is not a unique file extension for these files, you open and work on the .html file. **Recommendations to others considering Google Web Designer:** Allow time for trial and error. There seems to be so many options available and new ad types that I was previously unfamiliar with. **What problems is Google Web Designer solving and how is that benefiting you?** A client asked for an animated ad, and had very specific specs about the kinds of files that were necessary to implement their ads. Rather than me designing the ad and painstakingly animating it and then a developer creating custom coding, this created all of the necessary files with a simple 'Publish'. After a bit of a learning curve, I think it could be significantly useful in bridging that gap of time, while still being able to create visually intriguing ads. ### 2. In the last update the Google team provide a whide range of templates that you can use at your advantage. Google Web Design, thanks to the drag and drop interface, permits you to use it with no problems from the beginning. Google Web Designer is a limited software that cannot be used by professional for professional project. It does not support all the main browser. Sometimes you have problem to open HTML files that are not created in GWD. There is also a coding mode where you could code your entire HTML5 ad if you wanted to, or go in and change a certain thing or add some sort of animation that does not already come built into the app. **What do you dislike about Google Web Designer?** Sometimes the application crashes and the screen goes black. I'm not sure what causes this but when I have used Google Web Designer for extended periods of time, the application will crash or freeze and go black. This does not happen often but when it does you just have to close the app and reopen it. **Recommendations to others considering Google Web Designer:** If you want an application that does a lot of the work for creating HTML5 ads, this is the app for your. All you have to do is design the HTML5 ad and animate it similarly to After Effects and then once you publish it, there is nothing else for you to do besides upload the file. **What problems is Google Web Designer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating HTML5 advertisements for my company. It is easy to import image files that you will use to create the advertisement with just a few simple clicks.
