The best thing about GCP VPC is its setup. A VPC is a global resource and the subnets are regional resources, so whenever we integrate VPC with other resources in GCP, it is super easy to set up, it is flexible, scalable, and secure as well. The least favorable factor in VPC is if we select the default firewalls while setting up the VPC, it can give a lot of access to the internet i.e. at 0.0.0.0/0. The other downside is that when there is a complex use case or we need to work on shared vpc, we face a lot of limitations, which we are unaware of before performing it. VPC in the Google Cloud Platform is the foundational step for performing any use case. In 95% of services used in GCP, we need to have a VPC and it is very useful. I have seen setting up 2 subnets in a VPC and then adding subnets and resources as per their needs, sometimes for data perspective only, sometimes for dev, staging, and production environments.
