It is an efficient and scalable routing solution. It performs very well at precise and dynamic route planning. Real-time traffic data is very accurate. What problems is Google Routes solving and how is that benefiting you? I helped a client implement Google Routes for a fleet of 70 vehicles and an average of 2,000 daily deliveries. Before integrating Google Routes, the company relied on another vendor whose routing algorithms lacked real-time traffic adaptability, leading to frequent delays. The previous system required manual intervention for route adjustments, often causing dispatch bottlenecks and less than optimal vehicle utilization averaging less than 70%. Additionally, the legacy platform struggled with performance and scalability during high seasons. With Google Routes, we have automated and optimized route planning, significantly reducing dispatch times and improving on-time delivery rates. The system’s real-time traffic updates allow for dynamic rerouting and minimizing delays. The API integrations with the client’s existing order management system took some time (6+ months) but the end result was worth it - a 20% improvement in overall delivery efficiency. What do you dislike about Google Routes? Train Fares are not available as of now on Google route maps if the travel has to happen by train or taxi fares. Toll Cost could be updated in future. Recommendations to others considering Google Routes: I had used it several times and would grade it as an excellent tool for all people on Earth. It shows different routes to reach the destination and shortest time along with traffic congestion. It shows the various ways to reach a destination such as by train, flight, by Road. It shows the approximate time it would take to reach destination including traffic congestion times if it is short distances. Problems i solved with Google routes is as below: -Guided strangers who lost way to reach their destination by checking correct route map on my device and guided them. - I used it to plan my journey to reach a destination. I use it for checking how to reach a place such as is there any train service because in some hilly regions such as Nepal Train's and even bus service don't exist in some places. - I use it to find route map to reach un-known places along with directions. Benefits i have realized are below: - They offer service free of cost which is helpful for people who don't earn US dollars. - I used it several times to find best route, time it shall take to reach a place by different means of transport. - It helped me to find directions to reach unknown places. I can put in my address and destination and choose which route is best suited for me. The travel time expected and possible delays are listed.
