"Straightforward resource to source typefaces for websites"
5/5
What do you like best about Google Fonts?

What I like the most about Google Fonts is its ease of use in browsing and sourcing fonts by the mood, appearance, and category and also able to source which styles are trending in website development. The simplicity to integrate is through uploading the files on the site. Returning to browse Google fonts a few times a month to review file updates is a big help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Fonts?

What is least helpful about Google Fonts is unsure who to reach out to if needing support with the files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free, Open-Source Fonts That Make Beauty & Design Accessible!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Google Fonts?

I love that it’s “free99”, of course! Honestly, it gives underfunded folks a way to customize and create a more beautiful digital space. It’s a great open source asset for people who can’t afford to pay for premium designer fonts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Fonts?

As I understand it, loading fonts from Google’s CDN can transmit a visitor’s IP address to Google’s servers. This concerns me deeply, because it feels like a clear violation of an individual’s privacy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extensive open‑source font library with robust API delivery"
5/5
What do you like best about Google Fonts?

transparent licensing information suitable for commercial use. The API v2 is straightforward and well documented, supporting multiple font families, variable axes, and efficient delivery through a single stylesheet request. CDN hosting with WOFF2 compression ensures fast rendering and stable performance across browsers and network conditions.

I appreciate the presence of a dedicated variable fonts collection and the ability to filter by supported variation axes, which makes it easier to implement flexible type systems. The service also includes clear references for using OpenType features via CSS, with practical tips for preconnect and display strategies that align with modern frontend optimization practices. The individual “About & License” pages for each family simplify due diligence and remove ambiguity when building typography systems for diverse platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Fonts?

The interface often displays only a subset of the variation axes available for a given font family, which makes advanced axis usage less discoverable without consulting API documentation. Italic handling in variable fonts can be unclear, sometimes requiring manual axis configuration to achieve the correct style rather than relying on default selections. What do you dislike about Google Fonts?

While Google Fonts offers a useful selection of fonts, its collection is somewhat limited. It would be great to see a broader variety of fonts added, especially in categories that are currently missing, such as Techno, Script, and Fancy. Expanding the range of available fonts would significantly enhance its utility for diverse design needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a sales person I have clients from Allen backgrounds, income levels, demographics, and industries. Google Fonts allows me to communicate seamlessly in ways that may help cater to certain backgrounds and career levels. Especially in international it helps quite a bit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Fonts?

It's still a bit clunky, but it's also part of the way it's "open". I'd love to see something more streamlined. I love all the google products this one just needs a bit of cleaning up. But they're still the best at what they offer. It's easy to use and implement in work due to its online access. My frequency of use has increased over time as I've seen clients appreciate certain fonts. Obviously you find the most use with this with clients that do primarily email communication. The customer support is also helpful if you need to search for a certain font.

Ease of integration is simply opening up a new tab, and their a variety and uncountable number do features and fonts! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
