I am a big fan of Google Earth Pro because I am often responsible for monitoring where my company's products are. We run a pay-as-you-go system, and we need to keep track of the different locations where our customers and products are located, so we use Google Earth to find their site. I enjoy using the 3D view option to get a clearer view of the vicinity. You can zoom in till you get to the top of the customers' house. While I use google maps for traffic monitoring, I use Google Earth to see the live view of places I would like to visit on any given day. Amazingly, it is free for phone app and desktop use. I love kml and kmz capabilities, since they allow you to import or export your data in a very lightweight fashion. The measuring and drawing tools are good too. Honestly, the user interface feels a bit outdated. It also affects the way you can export or print your maps. The icons or pins that come with the program are also old-fashioned. get a good looking map can be really difficult sometimes. On the other hand, I have not been able to find a way to use the vectorial raster instead of the aerial images. That's why I do most of my prsentation maps, or data maps, on Power BI. As we work in major MSA's it is important to get a lay of the land - literally- as we have to account for staff traveling to facilities. If facilities are less than an hour away then we are good.
