Its ability to serve as a platform to create Virtual Machines with ease is the biggest reason for me to use it.
I use it in collaboration with Google Cloud Platform where all the pods/clusters/applications are deloyed.
The VM instances which the GCE caters along with its ability to run multiple environments in an organized manner makes it a must have for application deployment purposes as well.
The configmaps, which is a part of Google Kubernetes Engine, come in handy when it comes to the deployment of configurations related to any application.
These features help the most in handling microservice architecture based applications as well as other standalone projects.
Mutiple instances of an application can be deployed in a master slave manner which adds to the fault tolerance of the application, hence, making it an available one.
To conclude this, it solves more than one problems as it is easy to use, supports fault tolerance, makes application monitoring and data storage possible , its easily integrated and helps in running entire application on cloud .

  ### 40. Simple, fast, easy to use, and a clear and transparent pricing model

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish K. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

I have used Google Cloud and Compute Engine extensively, especially in a 9 month long project a few years ago. Compute Engine on Google Cloud is very simple and easy to use, boot times are very fast. I like the variety of OS / Disk Image options provided here. The ability to SSH directly by default is also a good one, which came very late in AWS. But the best thing I like is the transparent pricing model, where the monthly price is displayed with full breakdown right during the instance set up page. Unlike other providers like AWS, this has really helped in choosing the most cost effective configuration.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

This is not directly related to the Compute Engine, but with the whole Google Cloud, which is the firewall in system in Google Cloud. Instead of having a direct per instance firewall configuration like the security groups in AWS, tag based setup in a global firewall is a more tedious and confusing process, atleast to me.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compute Engine is one of the barebone service in Cloud Computing as the basis of IaaS, and it is a very good option out there compared to AWS EC2 or Azure. It solves problems like automatic instance creation through gcloud apis, autoscaling clusters, ad hoc instances, etc. We at our company have also used these as Remote Developer environments by using open source tools on top of Compute Engine to generalise and make developer environments uniform.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Not user friendly for non-tech users or new users. Need hands on lab to learn how to use it and best practice.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Help to develop pipelines, and provide the processing data to help user better understand the process in order to find the optimization opportunities.

  ### 42. Let's scale up

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

They keep innovating and adding new ways to help us go faster and spend less time on devops

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Can sometimes be difficult to get them to address an issue even if it's on their side. You need a lot of back and forward, and our people are quite good, so when we escalate something because we think it's on google side, it would be nice to see them react faster

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Autoscaling

  ### 46. Flexibility and control of running virtual machines in the cloud.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

GCE integrates seamlessly with other Google Cloud services like Cloud Storage and Cloud SQL. This makes it easy to build and deploy complex applications entirely within the Google Cloud Platform, streamlining my workflow and reducing management overhead.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Compared to some managed services, GCE requires more manual configuration and management of virtual machines. This can be a burden for smaller teams or those who prefer a more hands-off approach.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On-premises infrastructure often lacks the flexibility to scale up and down quickly. GCE's on-demand nature allows me to easily adjust resources based on project requirements, avoiding the costs of overprovisioning or the performance bottlenecks of under-provisioning.

  ### 47. A go to platform
