**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

Our organization have decided to move from Azure to GCP, and the reason is, "Security", we did a lot of reasearch on it and it turns out it has good security implementations and guidelines. We also liked how GCP displays the pricing information.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

I was new to cloud, I did have experience working with Microsoft Azure, but yet some services in GCP are kind of hard to learn. That makes it really hard for organization migrating from other CP to GCP

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google's security model, has been developed over years of protecting billions of users, is baked into GCP, providing robust protection for cloud services. and that's unique metric we're onto, and yes, it works.

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

The upsides of GCE include its high performance benefits compared to other IAAS.
All IaaS can auto scale up and down but users can create custom machine types compared to the fixed instance types of other IaaS.
The cost benefits are the major benefit, automatic discounts for instances that run for more than X part of the billing month, AWS reserved instance and Azure Reserved VM instances both require upfront commitments.
Google's global fiber network has to be the biggest benefit.

  ### 40. Complete and robust platform for hosting websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan R. | Inspektor Datalaft - Risk Consulting Global, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

Google Cloud Compute Engine is a great solution for hosting websites on self-managed virtual machines. We have tested its service and compared it with other providers like Vultr, Linode, or Digital Ocean, and it is undoubtedly far superior. The stability and speed of the VMs are much higher.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Accessing technical support is very complicated; if there is any problem with the service, it takes a considerable amount of time for support to help or even validate the problem.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They keep their servers constantly updated, which allows companies to have modern infrastructure. Additionally, the implementation of extra services is ideal for having everything with a single provider.

  ### 45. Google Cloud Platform Review: Strengths, Weaknesses, and Opportunities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simeone C. | Cloud Senior System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

Google Cloud's strong commitment to open-source technologies and multi-cloud environments. With tools like Kubernetes and Anthos, Google Cloud makes it easier to deploy, manage, and scale applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Google Cloud's pricing can be intricate and sometimes challenging to navigate. Understanding the costs associated with different services, especially when scaling resources up or down, may require careful planning to avoid unexpected expenses

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the primary problems Google Cloud solves is the need for scalable infrastructure. It allows you to easily scale your resources up or down based on demand without investing in physical hardware

  ### 46. Review of Google Compute Engine

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Badal O. | Member of Technical Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

we are using the compute engine to host our web applications frontend and backend, with jaeger for tracing of api calls from backend. we also are using grafana monitoring tool for monitoring and obserablity of our gen ai chatbots metric in other vm. the best about it is the ease to create and configure the vm. configuration of firewall from ui is very easy which is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

the SSH is slow and i get logged out after i close my PC for few seconds and sometime it takes time to resolve issues due to poor documentation.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we are creating a gen ai chatbot in which we are running react (frontend) and python (backend). we are using a ec2 medium vm for forntend and backend with 30GB disk space, as it is very compatable for our use case which required 1.5 GB of RAM to run. the additional dsik space is very cheap. The integration of frontend and backend is very easy and to make it open to public is very easy.

  ### 47. Its good for statup business

  ### 48. My honest review on Google Compute Engine

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaibhav T. | Member of Technical Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

Here are some points that I liked about Google Compute Engine:

i) User-based access feature is good.
ii) It is cheaper as compared to AWS.
iii) It provides advanced AI & data analytics which is great at this cost.
iv) It covers a lot of services which is eventually good for clients.
v) Customer support is great like 24 X 7.
vi) It is quite easy to use and implement all the services which i found very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Here are some points that I disliked about Google Compute Engine:

i) I found that pricing is a bit complex.
ii) SSH is very slow. (Needs to be improved)
iii) If the device is locked SSH gets logged out which is not good.
iv) Sometimes navigation is a bit confusing.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scaling was a hectic problem for our clients. We have to face a lot of downtime problems these problems were solved using the Auto scaling feature of the Google compute engine. Initially, one load used to take 450 MB at every loading, at peak time as the user engagement increased, auto-scaling helped in managing load.

  ### 49. Reliable Computing Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sameer P. | Member of Technical Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

We are using google compute engine for hosting various servers for our application one for main application, one for grafana which is for monitoring and one for the frontend, the best part is the ease at which we can create the engine and configure it, it have vary minute configurations and also the snapshot feature with which we can recreate the whole machine if needed. It is too easy to implement and also the integration with other services is too easy

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

The problem we encountered while using compute engine is its interface or we can say UX, though the features are very easy to understand but we can miss some features while configuration due to not that much highlighting on that part, SSH lags sometimes

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are having an app to develope and for which we required powerful servers as it is using LLMs and SLMs (Language Models) but the thing was when we used our local servers configuring them and integrating the different server was very hard part, so we tried Google Compute Engine in which we created 3 machines one for Frontend one for Backend and one for Monitoring and the most loved part was the ease of implementation and integration we have now deployed them and using it for our business application.

  ### 50. My GCE adventure

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abishek M. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

One of my favourite feature of GCE is the ability to migrate virtual machines live with minimal downtime, even during regular maintenance.
And also I like the integrations with Google's ecosystem.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

In my opinion the support costs of GCE is little bit concerning for me.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me the migrating a VM is challenging with out GCE . By using GCE it's easy to migrate VM's with minimal downtime.
