## Google Compute Engine Reviews
  ### 1. Limited machine availability

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

Ability to customize machine types, and varied sizes

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

I don't understand why spot must terminate after 24 hours

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microservice hosting

  ### 2. Confusing Cloud Computing

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

Coming from AWS GCP has been quite disappointing. Almost everything you do in there is confusing but I'd say that the best thing about it is the gcloud ssh option from the CLI without dealing with SSH Keys

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

Everything. VPC, Firewall Rules and Policies are so confusing. AWS really did a good job making this simple and I find that GCP is the complete opposite. It's almost as if they said, "let's see how we can make this so confusing for people"
I am migrating from AWS to GCP and the transition has been painful. I used Azure before and that was a breeze but for some reason GCP is just confusing.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost is probably the reason we use GCP for and GKE.

  ### 3. Not a great migration tool

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Infant R. | G, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

migrate for compute engine tool version 5 is easy to deploy & we migrated a centos 6 vm which act as a LDAP in on-prem to GCP , which was our blocker for one of our migration project. We tried almost all options given by GCP like OVF file upload to GCS , etc. But we migrated this centos6 vm only with M4CE version5 easily.

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

oh my god , initially we started our GCP cloud migration using M4CE version 4 which is very hectic , very tough to deploy itself. Need to do lot stuffs foe deployemnt itself. This wasted lot of time for setting up a migration tool.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Only the latest version solved our problem of migrating all kinds of workloads , including older unsupported versions of OS also. This solves our migration issues. But GCP really need to fix the issue in M4CE 4.

  ### 4. I like it but they charge a lot for consumed time

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2016

**What do you like best about Google Compute Engine?**

The best is the easiness of usage. I like the way you have everything in one place and you can see at your left all your integrations. They also have a free trial period of 3 months..

**What do you dislike about Google Compute Engine?**

I dislike how much do they charge after the 3 month trial period,

**Recommendations to others considering Google Compute Engine:**

I don't know which one I will go for or if it will be better to have a dedicated server to start.

**What problems is Google Compute Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have realized that you can go straight to amazon which is free for one year. Though they charge you too.
