When we grew there few limitation that came into play. First of all, EU / governments for which we were doing software didn't want US company to store data. We were migrating everything to managed postgres outside of GCP. Additionally, authentication for users was very much linked to GCP and we had to invent a method to change it, which led to some problems with Firebase/firestore.
