is is a very good sollutiion but is not compatable with other cloud providers. many cloud solutions are not developed by taking the consideration into mind about the multi-cloud architecture which is one of the most Important trait when we take it into consideration. cloud VPN sollution is also not the great sollution considering teh integration issues of google interconnect with vpc issues. Google Cloud is not sheets, docs or gmail. It is a strong set of services beating hard to Azure and AWS. Technically its services are so good that some companies are leaving AWS for GCP. There are few highlights worth mention: 1) pricing is better (billing by the minute - not hour as competition 2) their network capabilities are extraordinary and 3) strong security. One functionality perfect for VMs migration is the live migration or live disk resize. The analytics and cognitive services offerings are pretty much unique as it is not fair to compare their experience and results with other players.

Networking pricing is expensive. This is not just Google, but AWS and others too. We get free worldwide private transit with Softlayer and this would be a huge cost on Google for our current load. We do worldwide database replication with almost 1Gbps of sustained traffic currently at Softlayer, with no cost. Choice of programming languages is limited unlike AWS. Some Java API’s supported in AWS are not available in the App Engine. It’s not easy to transition away from Google Cloud Platform .
