Google Cloud Deployment Manager Reviews & Product Details

I love the templates that are provided within the set-up. Having to 'redo' things quite often, the Google Cloud Deployment Management is simple to click on a template and then just check information and maybe update certain things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I had a bit of trouble dealing with dependency conflicts between different Java client libraries. Each wanted a different version of a set of common dependencies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are few things which i like the most about Google Cloud Deployment Manager:-

We can use Jinja2 Templates(Configuration as a Code or say Same as Ansible) which allows us to reuse the configuration for another deployments. By using these it's very easy for us to have a same configuration for other deployment.We are trying to automate these processes(creation of resources) using in our CI/CD Pipelines. This enabled us to adopt an infrastructure as a code approach for project provisioning.

Using Infrastructure as a Code, We can easily test it on the Pre-prod(before Production) so that it's fully tested and make sure no human intervention needed. and easy to rollback as well.

Another best thing is Parallel Deployments for me at least. That's 1 of the pain area we had in the past with other deployment managers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Parallel Deployments is a very good feature but parallel updates are still not there for a single application. It's like Acquiring a lock in the SQL for that deployment which will not run you 2 updates at a time for a single deployment.

Another thing , I will not say it's a con but for me little pain point was to go through so many Google cloud deployment Policies. If you missed any policy, it will end up wasting your lot of time to debug that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google Cloud Deployment Manager is an infrastructure management service that makes it simple to create, deploy, and manage Google Cloud Platform resources.
