## Google Cloud Dataprep Reviews
  ### 1. Cloud Dataprep

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brayan Q. | Data Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

Ease of use, integration with GCP products like Bigquery, low learning curve, no technical background required. Basically it is a tool that meets the needs of data cleaning and transformation in a fast and friendly way.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

The model pricing and the cost of the licenses. In the past, when it was free, many clients adopted the tool and spread its use among the users of the organizations and the technical support was easier to work with Google directly than with Trifacta.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

Cloud Dataprep is an excellent tool but keep in mind the cost-effective and the acumen of the user inside the organizations.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The data clean process is perfect with this tool and its easy use is friendly for everyone. In the same way, the integration with other GCP products is a perfect tool for the ETL process.

  ### 4. Use this program daily, saves tons of time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan L. | Director of Analytics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

The simplicity and able to handle large datasets in a timely manner.
It is also very easy to just jump in and put together a quick data flow.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

Importing size limitations and integrations with other programs, would be nice to have streaming functions from data prep

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

I would say if you are using this as a one off analysis tool, it is very good. I use other programs for data extraction and transformations, but I use dataprep mainly when doing a quick analysis of a large data set, or something that I will be running for a few weeks that I don't necessarily want to build a full data pipeline for.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for all types of analysis, mainly large data sets that I will be importing on a consistant time frame and then outputting them to a standard for or to google big query. This has saved me a lot of time rather than using excel, I can load up a data flow and get the same results everytime. It also helps understand your data sets by its flagged data feature.

  ### 5. Excellent addition to the GCP offerings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

Easy to use and understand the transformations. Many different connections are available.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

I sometimes have to look up how to do basic functions like adding a new column based on a different function than one that's suggested.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am transferring, transforming, and joining data from disparate sources.

  ### 6. Good experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himangsu R. | Assistant Secretary General, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

I use google cloud dataprep for maintaining my useful data collection.By using this i can remove my unnecessary data and collect the useful data and also decorate the data.It makes my data secure. I can upload and collect any file or data in google cloud dataprep.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

This is much expensive. For this reason when one person need to using this but they didn't use because of the price. Sometime google cloud dataprep takes much time to decorate the data.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

Use google cloud dataprep for make your life easy and comfortable.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I take my some personal information and personal data in the google cloud dataprep. When I need the information I collect the information from here. Its make my life very east.

  ### 7. Great place to store data, charting and graphing is so much easier.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

How easy it cleans up and organizes my data. We used it to pull together large quantities of data and it went pretty seamlessly. It also has great sorting capabilities.
It also transfers into charts and graphs very well. Your next ideal data transformation is suggested and predicted with each UI input, so you don’t have to write code. There is no infrastructure to deploy or manage. Google works closely with Trifacta to provide a seamless user experience that removes the need for up-front software installation, separate licensing costs, or ongoing operational overhead.
Cloud Dataprep enables users to collaborate on the same flow objects in real time or to create copies for others to use for independent work. For performance optimization, Cloud Dataprep automatically generates one or more samples of the data for display and manipulation in the client application. However, you can easily change the size of samples, the scope of the sample, and the method by which the sample is created. Process data stored in Cloud Storage, BigQuery, or from your desktop, then export refined data to BigQuery or Cloud Storage for storage, analysis, visualization, or machine learning. User access and data security is seamlessly managed with Cloud Identity and Access Management.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

I wish there were more layouts and themes. We are an architecture firm so diversity is key for us.
Pricing was also another factor, it is pretty expensive.
Maximum upload size for a file is 100MB.
Sort transform is not supported.
User-defined functions are not supported.
Custom dictionaries and custom data types are not supported.
Integrations with datastores other than BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, and the local filesystem are not supported.
User access to administrator functions is not supported.
Sharing is not supported.
Customer support is not the best.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

Very good for a starting point for data organization and presentation. Cloud Dataprep enables users to collaborate on the same flow objects in real time or to create copies for others to use for independent work.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data organization, it takes the stress away for data formation.
Charting and graphing, it is a lot more advanced than excel, less work required.
Cloud Dataprep automatically detects schemas, data types, possible joins, and anomalies such as missing values, outliers, and duplicates so you get to skip the time-consuming work of assessing your data quality and go right to the exploration and analysis.
Cloud Dataprep enables users to collaborate on the same flow objects in real time or to create copies for others to use for independent work.

  ### 8. It is very important and useful for me.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2020

I like Data analyst opportunities for my work.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

sometimes it shows some errors, so it is annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

It is helpful for a short time data analysis and a 90% correction , so I recommend to others.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Database marketing that I have easily got a solution for this. The benefit of google cloud dataprep is a rapid data ingestion, so it realized it.

  ### 9. Delivers on its promises, but not remarkable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spa J. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

All its features that it advertises work well and the learning curve is not very steep so it is easy to use. Additionally, it delivers on its promises. Data preparation is now much easier and faster with the product versus without it.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

The interface is messy and somewhat hard to use. I would prefer a more streamlined look, facilitating a more pleasant working experience.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

It is definitely on the pricier side, but I would recommend biting the bullet and purchasing the software. It really did help our team out so much and our data preparation is much faster.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data preparation is now much faster with the software versus without it. What used to take our team hours or even days is now completed within minutes. Obviously, this has benefited our company greatly. Our productivity improved drastically.

  ### 10. Allows both technical and business user to Wrangle their data intuitively.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

Having ever-increasing amounts of data available from relational to sentiments in Twitter feeds to system log files makes being able to wrangle it into a workable form even more pressing. Google Cloud Dataprep makes it easy to get to your data and manipulate it into beneficial information to use for research, machine learning or user interaction via a presentation tool or desktop.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

The product is robust and increasing in features monthly which is good but the adoption of new capabilities on such a frequent basis means always having to review the releases for things to be added to existing wrangle recipes to improve their efficiency. Not necessarily a bad thing having too many ways to get and manipulate your data into insight providing forms.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seeing how I have been wrangling data for over 20 years, the benefit of a feature-rich product to work through developing clean data, prepare research data or just provide daily insights via dashboards is very helpful. The ability to then make the recipes (steps of wrangling the data) available to others and scheduling it themselves lets them take on their data research discovery.

  ### 11. Its an intelligent Cloud data service.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** saurabh b. | Technical Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

The best part of this product is the fast process and understanding about exploring the data very quick.Because of which I can avoid the time consuming analysis. It is very good in self analyzing the missing values and duplicates as well and save your time.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

Its a good product however there are few area of improvements which is like the sort transform is not supported in this product also sharing is also not supported which is a drawback for this product.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

Its a user friendly product and since you can use it with same credentials which you already use for google service,It provides with best exploring and preparing function for your data with big query. The reason it is called intelligent data service because it will visually explore clean and prepare those data which is not ready for immediate analysis and its very easy to use product so you will not get bored too and yes its pretty user friendly as well.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are many business problems this product is solving for example its less time consuming since it analyze many issues itself which includes data transformation and its predicted with each UI input. It provides user with access and prepare data from storage themselves. It makes data handling very easy.

  ### 12. Clean up log files and any flat file easily

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew B. | Co-Founder, Strategy, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

As a GCP user, the synchronization between flat files, cloud buckets and BigQuery makes for very efficient access to data. We are a small team so having a full ETL tool at our disposal without the heavy engineering resource requirements is a big win.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Dataprep?**

Exporting and sharing wrangles is not easy. This creates a risk in that certain jobs or wrangles are limited to a single user vs multiple users.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Dataprep:**

I would recommend this to any team who needs assistance with cleaning up data for analysis. It's a great tool for analysts and non-technical users who are comfortable with test and learn from the very intuitive workflow.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We process 100s of GB of Doubleclick Data Transfer data each week and the data is not always present a in format we need. Dataprep has given us a scalable tool that we can process and activate on log level data more efficiently. Cleaning small datasets are made more efficient so its great for small jobs that are repeated regularly.

Not enough community support to get my questions answered, not enough Googler's know about this.

**What problems is Google Cloud Dataprep solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Preparing log data for analytics, basic cleansing and parsing. Instead of doing this manually in Google Sheets, Dataprep has automated most of this in a few steps.
