## Google Ads Reviews
  ### 1. Money on Nothing

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** K A. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

You can quickly spend a lot of money on nothing.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Google Ads promise conversions, i.e. app installs, but they deliver nothing and instead charge for 'clicks', which are not matched with stats from Google Analytics.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Ads claim to be able to attract business through advertising. In our case, we were interested in advertising our app to increase app installs, which was they stated conversion target that Google Ads promised. However, with Google Ads, the promise is far from reality, as App Developers that use Google Ads pay for 'clicks', which are not verifiable, and in our case we didn't see any of those installs that the promised. When we confronted Google Ads with the facts, they threatened us, if we were to challenge the charge for the campaign. Would we use Google Ads again - NEVER!

  ### 2. 0 Support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel H. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing. Terrible support. Terrible janky site

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Janky site. Never ending bugs and issues with campaign set up. Ads freezing, being disapproved over nothing. Email support take like 5 days to respond. Thankfully I found stackadapt.com, I recommend them over Google Ads in everyway.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing but issues and headaches. Never plan on using again

  ### 4. Awful experience

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Expensive
Unintuitive

My google ads interface is displayed in french!!! Why? no idea! So I asked support. 1 week later: "set the interface language to english". WOW! Hadn't thought of that! Oh no wait... I did. 20 times I checked. Any other suggestion? 1 week later: "record your screen to prove you followed our recommendation"

...wow...just, wow...

Awful, evil company. They charge you a lot and then you're left on your own. Bugs? "Fix it yourself, lier!"

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

about none

  ### 5. The Phantom Ads Paradox: Paying for Nothing and Getting Even Less

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Navigating the vast expanse of digital marketing platforms, Google Ads promised the allure of a reliable platform backed by a tech giant. My expectations weren't grandiose – a mere hope to successfully run ads and potentially amplify my business's reach. Regrettably, even such modest expectations were dashed. My endeavors to harness the platform's potential were met with consistent hurdles, and not once did I taste the victory of seeing an ad live. How can one form a favorable opinion about a service when every attempt to use it results in a virtual cul-de-sac?

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Diving into the cavernous enigma that is Google Ads' billing procedure:

Mysterious Charges: My financial statements sang a bewildering tale. ReMy primary grievance is not rooted in any complexities or inadequacies of the ad service itself – it's the baffling and, dare I say, deceitful automated billing procedure. Let me paint a clear picture: As a small business owner, every penny is invaluable. With high hopes, I approached Google Ads, anticipating a boost in my outreach. What I did not expect, however, was to be charged continuously, month after month, even though I hadn't managed to get a single ad up and running.

It's disheartening to see that there isn't a straightforward way to opt out of this relentless billing cycle. It's as if phantom ads were tirelessly working in the background, while in reality, my business received no exposure. This approach not only feels like a slap in the face to entrepreneurs like myself, but it also comes across as a blatant attempt to capitalize on unsuspecting business owners. In a world where transparency is valued, this seems a step back. It's not just about the money; it's about the trust and the principle.

Google Ads might be a behemoth in the industry, but this experience left a sour taste- let me explain why:

Hidden Traps for the Novice: Google Ads seems to have numerous settings, some of which appear defaulted to continuously bill, irrespective of whether ads are running. For the uninitiated, it’s like entering a maze blindfolded, with traps at every turn.

Lack of Transparency: There’s an overwhelming lack of clear communication. Why was I being billed? Were there hidden ads that I was unaware of? Or was it some arcane maintenance fee I was uninformed of? Questions mounted, answers remained elusive.

The Small Business Predicament: The financial strain on small businesses cannot be overstated. Every dime matters. When a sizeable chunk goes to a service that yields no return, it’s not just a financial blow but a dent in morale. There’s a sense of betrayal, that a trusted name would seemingly siphon funds without delivering results or even the tools to achieve them.

Customer Service Quagmire: Expecting respite from customer service was another folly. The byzantine system appeared more keen on leading me in circles rather than offering genuine assistance. A platform of Google’s stature should, theoretically, boast impeccable customer service. The reality? Quite the antithesis.

In conclusion, while Google Ads might have been the beacon for many successful ad campaigns worldwide, my personal odyssey was riddled with opaque billing practices and inscrutable service structures. For small businesses that depend on every ounce of trust and every penny saved, this feels like a grave misstep. We yearn for platforms that empower, not those that leave us questioning our every move

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None whatsoever and not at all. I owe them money and never succesfully ran any ads.

  ### 6. The worst customer service I have ever experienced

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Because of Google's monopoly on search, it's difficult to run PPC campaigns without using them.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Ad fraud is completely out of control and Google does stunningly little to prevent it, because they profit from it.

We've spent tens of thousands of dollars on clicks that our software has confirmed to bots, while Google has refunded a tiny fraction of that. And their response to thousands and thousands of wasted dollars is a boiler-plate template that literally doesn't mention a single specific component of your case.

Most companies give you in-depth customer support over problems with a product that costs $4, and Google is totally indifferent to thousands and thousands of dollars of fraudulent activity.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching potential customers

  ### 7. Terrible Customer Service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

The system is fine until there is a problem, then Google will wash its hands of you.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Shocking customer service. After years of using Google Ads, and spending millions of GBP in that time, Google suddenly cancelled our conversions. There was no warning about this, yet they continued to charge for useless advertising for months. I noticed that something was wrong after a few weeks, and asked our Google representative to see why conversions had dropped off a cliff. They couldn't find anything wrong. Two months later I found that Google had just stopped all the conversions, meaning we had been paying for advertising yet receiving no customers. If I hadn't noticed this, we would still be paying for pointless advertising now.

They refused to offer any kind of compensation because "we couldn't work out why we cancelled your conversions". It doesn't matter why, it matters that you did.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gogle Ads is now the problem.

  ### 8. These other reviews can't be for real

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Absolutely nothing anymore. I'd be better off throwing money out my window and hoping someone takes interest in why I'm doing that and I can tell them about my business.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Where to start? The customer service is by far the worse I have ever encountered. From what was once a very simple system to resolve issues has become a farce that couldn't even be made up as parody. Agents constantly don't listen and end chats; the call centre doesn't deal with anything and just talks over you reading their ridiculous script. I have tried to resolve an issue where they unlawfully took money from there since early 2022 without any resolution. I even recently restarted an ad campaign, only for them to cancel my account the next day because of inactivity. This has to be either a ridiculous glitch or they are actively trying to punish me for daring to ask for decent customer service.
Google ads is dead.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has just created new problems and not assisted me in any way.

  ### 9. Terrible results with Terrible customer Service from Google

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** gary s. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

the tracking features would have been great if the Ad's produced results

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

The TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE at Google. you CANNOT speak to an Ad specialist. you call and they will never connect you to an ad specialist so you can get your questions answered. I have been using a Google Ad reseller and the results have been terrible. So I wanted to talk to Google themselves. deal direct. see if they could do a better job. offer some insight as to why we have spent 8000.00 in two months with ZERO calls. but you cannot speak to anyone at google. so calling BING.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none

  ### 10. Google cannot clear my account from suspension

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad T. | Senior Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing. See the below description where I describe how my account for google ads is locked, I have been contacting them, and I am getting zero response or help.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

A robot kicked my account into suspension, likely due to my account and payment not matching exactly. It's been a month and google has not moved on it. I've emailed no less than 20 times without a response. It's a black hole. I can't believe that a company like google would let a service like this dwindle in the way it has.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They aren't solving anything. See the above description where I describe how my account for google ads is locked, I have been contacting them, and I am getting zero response or help.

  ### 11. Poor customer service, reporting and features lack rigor.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tosin A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing, maybe the ease of set-up but that's nullified by the poor functionality.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Poor service, ad review process, cost to benefit. Reporting and analytics. Would not use if they didn't have a monopoly on the service.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating as many as it solves.

  ### 12. Worst customer service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh P. | Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

When the ads are working it has been amazing, google as a platform is pretty good.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Customer service, called from some help and was laughed at saying £200 per month was not enoug money and that I should stop using google all together.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Iv stopped my account altogether now

  ### 13. Google Smart Ads is absolutely the worst!!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamara M. | A, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

NOTHING!! This was the worst experience I've had with advertising!
I am accountant. Google Smart Ads added the key word IRS. All I got were phone calls from people thinking they were contacting the IRS with questions about their stimulus checks and about their refund status.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I provide accounting services. My ad was to get more clients. I received nothing but phone calls from people who thought I was the IRS!! Google added their own Search Terms into my ad! I NEVER mentioned IRS in my Keywords. Then I was charged $300.00!!...for nothing!

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

DO NOT USE GOOGLE SMART ADS!!!

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not a thing! The customer service rep, after chatting and being on the phone a total of 45 minutes, basically told me that Google puts related search terms in the Smart Ads. The IRS is NOT related to my search for new accounting clients!!

  ### 14. SHOCKINGLY UNRELIABLE & TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

When the ads work, it's great, but that's never stable and then they block you for no apparent reason

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Where do I start. They arbitrarily block your ads if they contain reference to certain health topics, for example. Not many hypnotherapists would exclude quit smoking service from their web page because it is a key service offered. Yet Google decide, every now and then, without warning, that they don't like it. But it's OK for your competitors to advertise it. Interesting. I wondered if they take kickbacks. And they don't tell you that they've blocked your ads so you don't know why you are receiving fewer calls. Then it becomes very obvious, because you're going broke! BIG LESSON. Don't place all your advertising eggs in this basket - it has some MASSIVE holes in it. And the worst part is the customer service - WORSE THAN A PHONE COMPANY!!! They never get back to you. Their time frames are a joke. They don't understand their own policy. The system is terrible. In one year I might get 7 good months of advertising and 5 months of pulling my hair out dealing with these people. Seriously not worth it.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See above for problems - did I mention that they allow your competitors to advertise the same services that they are blocking you from? Benefits are getting slimmer and slimmer, each time this happens.

  ### 15. Worst. Service. Ever.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ed J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Literally nothing. And I don't say that lightly.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I ran a small campaign about 4 months ago. Then, 2 weeks ago, out of nowhere, I got an email saying that I'm "circumventing systems," that I'm a "fraudster," and I'm banned from the platform. No explanation, no reason, just a ban. We follow best practices and rank on page 1 for most of our keywords, so I have no idea why they did this.

I've tried calling, but they got rid of phone support. I've tried appealing and emailing, but only get the same form emails. I've tried chatting, but that's a dead end. I've tried forums, and all I've discovered is a bunch of other people with the same problem.

I have absolutely no idea how to get a human to explain what's going on, and I'm out of ideas. They have the power to make or break small businesses, and they don't care.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Don't. Work with literally anyone else.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was hoping to grow my business, but I can't.

  ### 16. Needed technical support and the staff only tried to upsell us to a $21000 a month campaign

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing sadly, we are still learning the in's and outs of Google ads

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

We required technical support with our campaign and when we were finally transferred to the "help" person, she turned out to be a strategy salesperson who was trying to sell us a $21000 package per month. We never got the tech support we called for and she wasted 45 minutes of our time. Appalling support.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems are being solved, only created.

  ### 17. Couldn't be more disappointed

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan M. | Agency Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Google ads should off great exposure. We did not realize the potential so this is hard to answer.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Support was untrained. When it caused a concern for us, they were totally unwilling to offer any simple credit. Nothing. We tried three different times to get it right.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Be careful. Monitor. And ask your staff what types of call are coming in.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are attempting to grow our business. The benefits have not bee seen because the generated response is well off target.

  ### 18. Google very bad tools

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesús Amaury R. | system Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Getting some more visitor to website is all you can get.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

The reality is that Google ads are very bad tools if you make any adverticing campaing and you monitoring the campaing you will get a very different result, Google ads are good only for getting some more visitors to your website, nothing else.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only thing you can get from Google ads is some more visitor to your website with expensive cost for click.

  ### 19. SUSPENDED ACCOUNT for suspicious payment activity yet Google Charges SAME CC monthly for Gsuite

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing - their service is awful. Don't value a good customer.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO STAR REVIEW - I WOULD. I am able to prove 200%+ that the two different credit cards I am trying to use are MY cards. I have put a request for an appeals cases, the Google Ad reps are unprofessional, give you bland answers and don't seem to care whether or not they have your business. One company I represent is a Marriott Hotel. We have our emails through Gmail hosting and pay $350+ a month for hosting and they say the credit card payment is suspicious on Google Ad Words yet have no problem charging it monthly for our Gsuite Account. Go figure. The second account is a Roofing Company, domain registered in my name, ad vouchers purchased through WIX.com a reputable website building company and the credit card, yet again MINE. They just keep saying we've appealed and your account will remain suspended offering ZERO assistance on WHY. I can understand his for suspicious activity however I am A REAL PERSON, WITH A REAL GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID THAT CAN VERIFY MY IDENTITY AND I REPRESENT TWO LEGITIMATE COMPANIES. Not sure how Google is so big when they treat loyal customers this way.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems resolved. No one will help me.

  ### 20. Rather only for established Big Business or very Expensive Exclusive services

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Almost nothing as did not break even.
Efficient (but expensive in the end!) customer care.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

They charge your daily maxiumum set budget for your PPC campaigns DOUBLE without warning you! I define this as rip off.
Broad keyword Match ads deliveray send your ads (in my experience) to more than 50% irrelevant keyword searches.

The interface of PPC/Adsense is way too complex, complicated, intransparent and confusing, with hundreds of small options for all sorts of things less important than the main and most important settings relevant for 99% of businesses and advertisers which are small companies less than 10 employees and solo-preneurs /freelancers/business owners.

Be prepared to gamble: spend more than you will make out of it.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Rather only for established Big Business or very Expensive Exclusive services and ONLY in case it delivers PROFIT means after expenses x 20 x30 x50 x100 times what they normally earn.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding clients for your product services. Used it to advertise several product services: did not turn out to be worth it - especially when the google software is not 100% efficient or transparent.

  ### 21. Awful Customer service

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leilani H. | Advanced Theta Healer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing. There's nothing redeeming about Google Ads. They refused to help me when their service started an ad I did NOT approve.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

They don't provide efficient feedback from. Ads. They take your money from an ad you cancelled and charge you for it. Had I been more diligent, I wouldn't be out almost $200. And if you reach out to support, forget it....you get automatic responses and nothing gets solved. With Google Ads, the customer is always WRONG.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

DON'T!!! Don't use them..... they're crooks

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Ads Is a waste of time and money. I hope you like losing money to a useless service.

  ### 22. Google Ads is very costly but not very efficient

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Google ads is very easy to get started with , It’s very easy and has a easy user interface. Creating an ad campaign is simple and pausing and starting in changing budget is also very easy.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

The problem with Google ads is the cost. Spending more to get clients then is coming back is not an ideal situation for any company, our cleaning services are not terribly expensive so the return on investment is very difficult to justify.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

I would advise on trying Facebook or another advertising service before google ads

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New clients via online advertising

  ### 23. Would not cancel my ad

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

I like the idea of reaching more people and they ad was easy to create and I like that I had many pricing options.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I did not see any traffic from my ad so I cancelled. They changed my account to an ad words ad and kept charging me.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Be very thorough when canceling your ad.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They did not cancel my ad when requested, instead changed it to a different type, continued to charge me. I had to request it be cancelled several times. They refused refund and I had to dispute with my bank.

  ### 24. Google ADS Very Expensive and not worth it for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johan W. | Managing Director, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Google Shopping Ads and the normal adverts is not worth it. It is only for big companies! I am in South Africa and some clicks cost R64.00 per click. This make Google Adverts very expensive!!!

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Google Adverts is a rip off and probably the biggest money making scheme trap in the world where every business fall into!

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No benefits at all in Google Adwords

  ### 25. Google ads, the slot machine

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Well I would give it zero stars out of 5 but there are some good things about making ads on google. It’s easy to create them and you can specify how much you want to spend each day or by the month. That’s the good.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

The bad; what I dislike about google ads is the results!!!! I’ve never had good results when advertising using google I’m convinced there is a conspiracy going on her e with fraudulently clicking of ads.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

I would not put your money here, find a better value elsewhere

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to advertise legal services

the reality that it takes longer to review and launch an ad

My youtube videos get launched it takes 3 calls and 10 days to be approved

  ### 27. 3 months of terrible support and on going

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James N. | Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing I can think of. See what I dislike for more info.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Just about everything. So we started advertising our products from 31st of July and after about 3 weeks, all of the ads were disapproved. I contacted support and they asked me to wait while they investigate. Next day, came back and said one of our landing page had virus redirection codes and he gave me a bunch of links that I must remove in order to be approved again. As of my 15+ years webdesign experience, I swear I would never put a virus redirection on my site (It would surprise me if i see one). Had no other choice so I contacted my hosting company which they had scanned my entire site to find those redirection links but nothing were found. I told Google about the scan result and they said they will escalate my concern to their team. Next day, they replied back and said they still found the virus code. So I delivered message to my hosting company again and they had 3rd party anti-virus company to scan my entire site. Result was clean as ever be. So I delivered message to Google support again, and surprisingly this time they said the scan result from their end was clean as well. Oh nice! Pain is over? NOT! My ads status was still disapproved even after 2 days which they said it only takes 24hrs maximum to take effect. So I contacted support team again and a different person answered who has no clue of what's going on and again, told me that they found lists of virus redirection codes on my landing page again. Are you serious? We hadn't touched our site during this whole process! Where did the virus come from? Without hesitation, I asked my hosting as well as 3rd party company to run a full scan on my site again. They gladly helped to scan my whole site again and result was CLEAN. They also suggested me to talk to the Google Ads supervisor directly to resolve this kind of issue as there's been reports that Google Ads sometimes uses cached data to collect information. I was getting annoyed but contacted Google support to talk to their supervisor. A lady answered with very annoyed attitude and she cut me in the middle of talking and just hung up after she finished talking. I emailed back and said find me someone else if you're going to answer like that attitude. So she passed me to her supervisor. Was supervisor any different? Hell NO. This was last Saturday, and he said that the scan is clean, hence he escalated the concern to their team to update. I asked if there's any chance that their system might be glitchy and he strongly denied. After 2 days, status was still 'disapproved'. I asked If there's no glitch in their system and scan result was clean, why is there such delay? He said he will re-escalate my concern to their team. Since then, these incompetent idiots aren't responding. Probably busy fixing their glitchy program or who knows what. This testimony will be told until everyone realize how incompetent and arrogant they can be.

9/11/18 Update: Extremely poor communication level and no follow ups. Last reply I got was a week later with automated message. That was after I was getting sick of waiting and did a follow up call myself.; Also, I don't want to be a racist but all of their staffs are Indians and it is extremely hard to understand their English accent (especially over the phone). Anyway, they asked me a screenshot of a Search Console to prove my site is clean. And my site WAS clean after reviewing in Search Console so I attached the screenshot in reply to their last email and haven't got a response since then. Since my case was handed over to the supervisor, everything gotten worse. Never had or seen this kind of poor support experience from any company I dealt before.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Never

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ads were disapproved for 3 months and still on going with issue

  ### 28. Discusting company taking money from a disabled persons account.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon C. | Oculus Rift Sensor mounts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing they are not to be trusted. Even Registering could get your bank account paying out.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Everything they are a law upon themselves. We need protecting from this company.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

I would stay away from this company, because if like me they take your money without authorization, your be confused with their rubbish that they throw at you and will find it easer to walk away than deal with them.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Ads was taking £150 a month from a disabled person account with no authorization what's so ever and is making it so difficult and confusing to deal with.
Google ads team have been given bank statements and End to End codes, but they are confusing the issue with even more demands that make no sense to none marketing people. governments around the world should be protecting their citizens from big out of control companies like this. Google your a disgrace.

  ### 29. It is a waste of your money

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yan L. | Optometrist, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing! But, my Google ranking seems to drop if I don't do any ad. So just for that reason, I still keep using Ads.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

None of the phone calls Google Ads brought in lead to actual appointment. They either wanted to call a hospital or another health provider's office. They could simply say I dialed by mistake. They could say I want you send me my prescription but was not one of our patients. Smart people find you without touching Google Ads. I hate it, so much!

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

This is the biggest drain of your money and great tool to screen no brainers.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

nothing!!!

  ### 30. The worst advertising experience of my life

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Really not much. There were a few moments when I first started creating my ad that I was excited to have a new option for advertising but then it went downhill fast.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I started my ad on express. For some reason my home address was pulling in from who knows where. I checked the business information for my business, no address there. I was confused so I called in. Worst customer service ever. They thought it was a completely different issue, which it wasn't. I am the type of person who checks everything before calling in. They wouldn't listen to what I was saying so it basically came down to me deleting my ad and giving up on it. I thought I would try the other side of Google Ads, (non-express) and it was so confusing I gave up on that too. I am no novice to software, websites or advertising. Google Ads needs to simplify. That would open up their platform to so many more users. And train the robots who answer the phones better. Not every question can be answered from a form.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

They need to simply and get better customer service. The help section is really awful too. I would just pass on advertising with Google until they make changes.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing. I was looking forward to advertising with them but it just didn't work out.

  ### 31. Rubish for the untrained beginner

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lawrence H. | Director, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Great for theexpert but if you are a beginner, you'll get very poor, very quick

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Conflicting customer service, no willingness to make up for it.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Don't. Get help if you HAVE to do it, but expect the very WORST in customer service.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

  ### 32. Horrible Customer Service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing so far for the past 4 years except they give me unwanted headaches.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Customer service reps can't understand or speak fluent English. Google should hire Americans to service Americans. Even after repeating my problem to a rep 12 times they give me a canned scripted answer that doesn't pertain to my question or problem. I am held hostage by Google AdWords for my Internet advertising needs. Even the supervisors are just as inept. Their customer service SUCKS!!!!!!!

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing

  ### 33. Bad and getting worse

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

I liked the ease of use and the clean interface before the changes to the new interface

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Ads take too long to get approved
Campaigns running in countries I didn't target
Bad customer service
No online chat available
No support during week ends

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No business benefits so far after more than a year

  ### 34. Useful for larger companies

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | Creative Consultant, Retail, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

This program is easy to use, and the setup was quick and easy

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Customer service was abusive (feels like the power google has is used to empower assistance reps to act however they like with little care for customer retention.) very little meaningful engagement

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

You have little to no choice, but save your money and use organic tools to gain traction. I contacts or mail chimp and influencer partnerships get you a lot further.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed more visibilty as a new company. No meaningful benefits actually were realized. Paid for traffic and got traffic but not much else.

  ### 35. Time consuming

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

The ability to do your own SEO is appealing but not that practical.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

It’s very difficult to create and track keywords and keep track of organic results.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No way to track google performance or marketing analytics

  ### 36. Expensive, no results

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

I like that they let you do individual ad campaigns and let you pick how much you pay.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Very expensive, doesn't support prepaying. Ads rarely get impressions.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm honestly trying to sell more books, but Adwords is horrible.

  ### 37. disappointed

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank A. | Owner, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

the exposure via google is excellent.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

too expensive, too much maintenance, they have 2 levels and put me into their 'easy' setup that didnt allow me to specify exactly to lookup words. had a bit of a hassle with their account dept.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none this time, just too expensive

  ### 38. Does not Deliver Results and Customer Service is Poor

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer G. | Flight Attendant, Airlines/Aviation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2017

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

The service is somewhat user friendly, but since it didn't deliver results, that is irrelevant.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I was paying over $100 a month, and I was also advertising on Bing. I got an average of 3 visitors a day to my store. When I called customer service and asked why I was paying so much money when I was hardly getting visitors, they said that I had 8 visitors yesterday. My Shopify store shows that I had 3. The manager then told me that Google records a click if a visitor lands on your page and then quickly leaves, but Shopify will only record it if they are on for several seconds. What??? Sounds like BS.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

I turned off my adwords and now only use BIng. I do get a few visitors and it costs much less.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are going to run a performance report to analyze all my clicks to see how long visitors are staying at my stores. Whatever. The fact that they are that finicky about issuing a even a small refund tells me that they don't care to accommodate an unsatisfied customer.

  ### 39. Complicated and difficult to use

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fortuna M. | Adjudicator, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2017

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing - was far too complicated to use on your own - you'd need to hire a Google Adwords expert in order to attempt to get the most out of it.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Everything - the support are unhelpful. Adding particular, keywords or leaving out words were not easy. It wasnt easy to find our adverts online once we'd actually selected the words. It was really frustrating!

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Dont bother

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Literally none. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

  ### 40. bad and wast of money

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

there is not anything I like about it too hard to use and when you call in no one give you same info so bad and when your not happy no call you see why and to help you don't wast your money on this

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

wasting money and click being up to £15

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

close it down

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

do not get any just bad call not good at all

  ### 41. Rubbish customer service

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** paul h. | proprietor, Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2016

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Cannot think of much I like to many negatives.
I have tried to be patient and have expressed my frustration calmly and repeatedly to call centre support agents
They are useless and only interested in your money.
Told Sam today I was leaving Google Adwords and he said ok no problem !

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Poor customer service
Poor telephone agents
Poor support

I only want to target a 12 mile radius around our office to get local business only
Still getting many clicks from the other side of the country and being charged £2 a click makes me frustrated and angry
Google Adwords telephone support agents have been a total joke in giving out technical advice
I have wasted a fortune trying to figure everything out myself with little help
I was promised a specialist would call me back and didn't
I have telephoned over a dozen times and agents don't listen, they fob you off and make up nonsense to get rid of you
Having spent £100,000.00 i have had enough

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Want to attract local customers only within a 12 mile radius of our office
This seems impossible to do and have wasted untold being charged for clicks in distant locations totally irrelevant to my business

  ### 42. Goggle AdWords overcharges and under delivers

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2016

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

I got zero results, so I can't compliment anything really. I do not like Adwords after using it for 4 months or so.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I set up my account to hit keywords that pertained to my specific business. I am a Realtor in a very small community in San Diego. I only work in that small community. Unfortunately, adwords was allowing searches all over the country for everything from real estate to trucks to glycerin. I was being charged $100's of dollars for clicks to my site that had zero to do with real estate in my community. Google has outsourced its customer service and therefore you will be speaking to someone in India about any issues. They will gladly read from their script of answers which will not help.

I would not recommend AdWords. For google to have a system so complex and non-user friendly... and then to allow their system to ad its own keywords so that you are charged whenever they feel like it... horrible!

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Hire a full time google adwords specialist to make daily checks on the adwords that Google may have added on their own.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. Looking to get people to my website who wanted real estate in my specific community. I wound up getting people looking for cars in Florida, sailboats in Michigan, etc. Horrible.

  ### 43. Adwords is a ripoff

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

Nothing to like about a service that charges too much for little to no results.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

The cost, the service, the results nothing useful.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attempting to increase traffic to non-profit website.

  ### 44. Costly for small businesses

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shari R. | Marketing Professional, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2014

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

In my specific experience with Google Adwords, I don't find the software valuable

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

I feel that it's just to easy to waste money on PPC with Google Adwords and recommend not to spend much if any time or advertising dollars on it.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

I don't recommend Google Adwords for small businesses like mine

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have not been able to solve business problems with Google Adwords. In terms of connecting to potential buyers, I think blogging relevant content on a consistent basis is a better way to go.

  ### 45. Terrible customer support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2014

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

It is the only game in town, so being a monopoly you have to use it.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Everything. You cannot contact customer support if you want to call them from outside the country. They only publish 0800 numbers, which do not work outside the country they are set up for. I want to manage AdWords accounts for several foreign subsidiaries and get NO support. I have to e-mail them and hope that someone can be bothered to call me back a few days later, or whenever they feel like, or never.

**What problems is Google Ads solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not solving any business problems. As I said, they are the only game in town.

  ### 46. Lots of numbers OK if you're a small business looking to minimize spending

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim P. | Health & Life Sciences Solution Design Consultant/Domain Expert, Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2012

**What do you like best about Google Ads?**

It is relatively inexpensive and somewhat user-friendly, although it will take time to become proficient with the tool.

**What do you dislike about Google Ads?**

Google has recently started allowing paid ads to surface in what looks like organic search results (Microsoft has been lambasting them on TV for the practice). good for them - increases revenue - bad for you - increases costs and diminishes the value of organic growth strategy - and bad for consumers who think they're getting relevance based search results, not paid adverts clearly identified as such.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Ads:**

Anyone who knows web-marketing knows that the optimal way to increase in search ranking is organic. To increase organically, you need relevant content, careful attention to use of keywords within the content on your page(s), lots of links to other relevant sites, and lots of links to your site for others. Links can be hard to figure out, especially if you're a merchant wanting to keep people on your site - the trick is to understand that Google is about information, so you need to figure out co-marketing opportunities, links to forums, links to resource sites, develop resource content of your own and have people link to you. If you do this, your need for adwords (and the spend) will drop dramatically, and raise your ranking on most search engines
