## Goodnotes Reviews
  ### 1. GoodNotes, good for Notes and more!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricky F. | Lead Pastor, Religious Institutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

GoodNotes is a great note taking app on my iPad. I also appreciate the fact that I can open up PDFs and keep all my digital "thoughts" in one place. I have tried other apps, but this one surpasses them all.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

The notebooks covers are pretty cool, but I would like to have the option to download more or to utilize my own designs. Maybe a simple design app? Or a place to upload photos and jpegs.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

GoodNotes would work well for: students with an iPad or iPhone, professionals, nonprofits. The ability to share notes across platforms is also a plus!

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GoodNotes gives me the ability to have a place for written and typed notes, as well as scribbling. The native notes app on the Apple platform are great for quick lists, etc, but GoodNotes gives me the ability to keep things well organized in "notebooks". I also have a Calendar program that I bought that works well with GoodNotes.

  ### 2. Newbie Love for GoodNotes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

I think how easy GoodNotes is to learn to use. It's extremely user-friendly and works great with my iPad/Apple Pencil combination. I'm actually ditching my paper planner this year to incorporate more files in GoodNotes.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I'm not sure if it's not an option or if I haven't found it yet, but I wished it had the scribble to type text option in GoodNotes. That is one thing that I really liked about the competitor's option.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, GoodNotes is becoming my go-to location. I've created notebooks/folders to store multiple notes, plus I even have a category for all of my church notes. Now, I'm not having to look for my work notebook, church notebook, Doctor notebook, etc., because everything is organized in my GoodNotes.

  ### 3. The best note-taking app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaac E. | Web developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

After using different applications of this style, I think that GoodNotes (specifically version 5) has the best classification system and is the closest thing to taking notes by hand. I love it! I use it every day.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

They could add different functions like adding voice memos to notebooks, enhancing the underlining, or adding more languages to OCR.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I have been using GoodNotes, it is much easier to organize my written notes. Also, I can check out notebooks from past projects as they sync to iCloud (even see them from the Mac!).

  ### 4. The only note taking app I recommend

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

I love how customizable and flexible Goodnotes is, it is by far the easiest app to use I have found. I love to make lists and keep different notebooks for various client projects.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I sometimes wish there were more templates for notebooks readily available, but they are so highly customizable that it doesn't bother me too much. I would love the ability to better integrate outside applications to link projects and materials to my notes.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

Because the templates are pretty plain or standard for notebooks, I would just assess how "fancy" you need things to be. I do not mind customizing things myself so that may play a factor

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with multiple clients at a time on both large scale and small scale projects, and having a software that is easy to use and helps keep me organized is vital.

  ### 5. Best Note-taking app available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riley F. | Graduate Studnet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

The best thing is the near-perfect search. It can convert to text the messiest handwriting, and the search feature is the best of all note-taking apps I've tried. There are tons of custom layouts and options, and there's ease switching between tablet, phone, and computer.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

The only downside is that it's not free. I expect most, if not all, note-taking apps of high quality to cost something, but this is honestly not a big deal considering the fantastic quality for the low price. The updates in recent years have added more notebook cover options, and I like that they have expanded the designs, but I would appreciate having more available.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

I fully recommend getting GoodNotes. Everyone I know who has an iPad prefers using this app and can only speak wonders of it.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GoodNotes for everything related to my work (and personal life). I have a multi-hundred-page-long notebook of all my Ph.D. research, and the search feature in GoodNotes makes it so I can easily (and quickly) search the last four years of work. Frequently in meetings, a question is asked, and I am the only one able to quickly find the answer, saving time for everyone. I also have a dedicated notebook for all my classes, and again, the flawless search feature is beyond helpful. After the course is over, I can easily convert the notebook to a PDF and then store it for future use.

  ### 6. Doctoral Student's Dream App

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LaToya B. | Associate Director of Rec Programming, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

There are different note templates available which I tend to change based on the class I'm taking. When I was in a statistics course, the grid paper came in hand. When I was in a basic read the text and take notes kind of course, the lined paper or even blank paper worked great!

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

The downside of Goodnotes is that to get it to run on a PC you have to download an emulator application. I have not ventured out to give this route a try but if you're willing to do so - it'll make the app much more functional being able to switch between PC and Mac.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I now have my notes all in one place. I'm not carrying around spiral notebooks or binders with loose-leaf paper. It's a whole new world!

  ### 7. Great Tool for iPad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

I like that I can import and store files and documents. But I like that I can directly write on the document I have uploaded or create a notebook with different templates to fit my specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I don't like the text box option, but I am sure it is just a learning curve. I also wish I could create templates to import into my notebooks. Lastly, I think it would be ideal for creating better tutorials.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

To fully customize your experience buy the add on package and watch YouTube tutorials.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can organize different notebooks to fit my personal and work project needs perfectly. For example, I was able to keep the information and ideas for my son's birthday organized in a notebook and maintain meeting minutes for my job separately.

  ### 8. I use GoodNotes every day!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

I really like that I can set-up various "notebooks" and I can easily move between them. For example, I have my daily morning journal, my notes related to a course I'm taking, and notes I've jotted during a client call. I don't have to carry or go looking for actual books or slips of paper. They are always with me!

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I haven't yet figured out how to reorder pages within a notebook, or copy a page to put somewhere else. But I'm rarely wanting to do this anyway.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I was packing for a year-long trip, I needed to change how I journalled. It didn't make sense to carry actual books that would add weight to my pack, and be at risk of getting lost or damaged. The obvious answer was to switch to writing on my iPad, but that meant having an application that felt like a journal. It was an easy adjustment to GoodNotes, and I haven't gone back to books since. I also like that I can potentially search for terms, even hand written, if there is a passage that I want to recall.

  ### 9. the best note taking app for all devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

you can easily make folders for each of your projects, and you can have various media in each folder. I can add an image and add notes over the image, or sketch on top of the image to show a client something, I can use the notebook with our company letterhead to take detailed notes, etc. It is the most versatile note taking app!

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I wish you could set the page size. I like to use all 8.5" x 11" paper, but some pages are smaller than others and I have to constantly change my pen thickness.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only have to take my ipad to job sites, client meetings, to the office and home. I no longer have to carry around multiple notepads for each project

  ### 10. So good for prototyping and taking notes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan C. | Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

Super easy to use and good user feel for writing!

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

Sometimes the pen will skid, makes it difficult to predict

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design prototyping for communication with other teams is so much easier, have also been able to take meeting notes

  ### 11. Takes you to a new level of productivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard T. | Marketing Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

Ease of use with Apple Pencil, and cross-platform integration.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

A bit of an learning curve, but probably same for similar products.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

Take the leep. It is worth the investment of time learning how to use it.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick note taking and filing of notes in the right place.

  ### 12. Good notes gives your ipad pro a life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmed D. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

The ease of use and the real paper simulation
I use it for note-taking, writing books, my kids drawing, wireframing...almost anything that requires a paper and a pen

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I almost like everything about it that's why I use it since 2016 till 2021

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Note-Taking mainly and sketching

  ### 13. Simple and hence enriching user experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr Sowmya L. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

Good notes is simple in its design. The functions are easy to understand. The UI is pleasing to the eye. What I like the most is
The touch of handwriting experience. No amount of typography beats this.
Gives the flexibility to choose the page layout.
The easy storage and use of it in other places.
I love that the app is available for both mac and ipad, giving the flexibility for users.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

Allow new users to experience the app for a day/2 before purchasing.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

I would highly recommend educators to use this product. It brings a sense of connection with the students just because you can choose to write in your own handwriting.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use good notes for brainstorming my ideas. Meeting notes, To teach lessons for my students. It's easy to store the page and send it to the students post the session. Since the format of storage is easily accessible and less on bandwidth, it brings greater flexibility for students as well.

Would highly recommend this for educators who continue to teach online. Gives a personal touch for the studetns when you send things with your handwriting.

  ### 14. excellent best note taking service on the app store

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jannatin N. | Store Cashier, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

Everything, this app is my go to for reading pdfs, doing homework, taking notes, making presentations, making templates and more. This is one of the best apps I ever came across that gave me a reason to pick up my iPad, quit using wasteful paper, and go into full digital note taking mode. The directions to using this app are fairly straightforward and easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I did not like that they removed some features that they used to have in goodnotes 4 such as the tool bar being in the movable expanding window tab when using the zoomed up feature.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

I highly recommend downloading templates off etsy, or make them yourselves, and it makes the experience of using goodnotes much more fun and easier. So if you really like taking notes then there are great channels to follow on youtube to guide you into taking batter notes. I also recommend getting a matte or paper like screen protector over the screen so that you get that natural and writing feel.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything. Problems like school work. I use goodnotes to organize myself and get into the habit of taking neat notes as I would do on paper.

  ### 15. Goodnotes - Pretty Good

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anita S. | Elementary Music Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

Accessibility across most apple products and the Apple Pencil compatibility.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I wish that it were more template friendly for user-made templates. Additionally, I wish that there were more color options available than 3.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

Make sure to use it across all your products. It makes your notes handy.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me stay organized for note taking and for my small business

  ### 16. The Best iPad Writing App, that has Tremendous Potential to be More Amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhavi G. | Boss, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

Goodnotes gives me the ability to write on my iPad using my stylus. So I can write in 'notebooks' and fill them up with pages of my handwritten stuff. I can even draw basic shapes. I can also do that with PDFs -- these could be any sort of PDF documents, and I can highlight text, annotate text. It is brilliant! I can add 'stickers' which are basically png images of stuff, and write on those stickers, to make my annotations look even special.

I also use it for digital planning and project planning. I like to track what I did during my day, and plan out my week. I also like to journal my thoughts during the day. It is a form of Digital Bullet Journaling, if I may say so. And Goodnotes is a great place to do that -- I buy a "digital planner" from Etsy, and I use it in Goodnotes.

Another brilliant feature is that it recognizes my handwriting and can convert my handwritten text into typed text. It really is such a helpful feature, especially if you want to email out your notes to someone, and don't want to type out all those handwritten notes.

I also like that they have an app for my iPhone and Mac and that I can easily sync between them to see my stuff on either of my devices.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

When you have more than one file open, you can see them in the tabs. And you can close them too. Except for the one last file. There's no way to close that file. It frustrates me.

Another thing that ought to be there, but isn't, is the ability to layer stuff. Say, for example, I write something and then I want to put the image of a sticky note behind that text, I can't do that. Typically, you'd do something like "send to back" or "bring to front" to arrange your layers. But not in this app. Here, you need to put in the image first, and then type stuff over it, and that's that. You can't adjust the sequence of layers.

And that then carries over onto another frustrating part. I can select and move text -- except when it is on one such image. In that case, I will have to move the entire image! Sigh! Why can't I just select which layers I want to move or copy? I would love to see these feature requests show up in the app -- it would really make my life easier, writing in this app.

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

Goodnotes is the best among all the current iPad writing / PDF notation apps that are out there. Even with these few things that can get frustrating, the app is still worth buying. I am hoping to see more features come in, and that is what keeps me going.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can read, highlight, annotate, markup my PDF files. It really is very helpful, especially with some ebooks that I have that are in the PDF format.

I can create digital notebooks filled with my handwritten stuff. I always wanted to be able to do that -- it helps with saving paper, and cuts down all sorts of costs (notebooks, pens, inks, whathaveyou).

More than that, it helps me carry it all with me in my iPad, making it a lighter burden to bear.

  ### 17. Great app!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

What I love the best is that it can convert handwriting to text! You can create your presentations as you go...easy to import images and clipart, drag and drop, annotate in PDF and create hyperlinks, customize text, and share. Very convenient for a busy life.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

It doesn't have stickers or does any math conversions. Just work with apple, so very inconvenient sometimes if you have windows at work!

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

Convenience

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a teacher, and it helps me to organize and create presentations for my students.

  ### 18. A student must-have

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah X. | Consultant, Stanford Pre-Business Association Consulting Client Project Team, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

It helps me stay organized by consolidating all my notes onto one digital platform.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I wish I could export only select pages of notebooks.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to carry around any loose worksheets and notebooks as everything is all located in Goodnotes.

  ### 19. Very Creative Notes App

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jay p. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

There are a lot of options to customize notes, including a large set of tools. Ability to have presentation worthy notes without reworking them.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

Honestly, it would only be the cost, but it is reasonable for a notes app with this high level of creativity options. Everyone likes free apps :)

**Recommendations to others considering Goodnotes:**

Worth trying. You won't be disappointed.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This app and its creative functions allow notes taken to have more complex notes to allow direct presentation.

I like having my notes online but with there was a more advanced searching feature.

  ### 23. GoodNotes is really Good to Note

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** V K. | Manager Digital Marketing, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Goodnotes?**

I could write the equations and take backups to access them on my mac book or even on my windows PC.

**What do you dislike about Goodnotes?**

I think it's a bit expensive that's why I had to cancel its subscription. But if you can afford it you must go for it.

**What problems is Goodnotes solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making notes at work and even in classrooms and access them on any device I am using.
