It's straightforward to connect to a relational database and set up a reusable model that can be used across different clients (referred to as workspaces in GoodData). It's also possible to use GoodData in a headless setup - their backend API is very flexible. **What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?** GoodData's React integration when we were integrating was limited to React 17, and we therefore weren't able to use it. Their documentation for their JS libraries can be confusing, but their technical support was able to sort us out. **What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoodData is great at solving embedded and distributed analytics. Our company has a variety of clients that all need analytics served to them in a similar way but with only their own data. The ability to customize exactly what data you see in custom dashboards seems to be one of the strongest props of GoodData. It seems like the possibilies are endless. **What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?** GoodData onboarding was not strong. As a beginner in BI, it was not intuitive to setup. As a result, I feel never truly used it as strongly as I had hoped when I signed up. I believe a stronger onboarding process as well as some sort of "university" would be helpful. **What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** I got GoodData to be able to setup custom dashboards to hook together marketing stats, sales, and website statistics all in one place to be able to make better decisions about where to spend the marketing budget. Though promising at first, the implementation was too difficult to warrant the learning curve. It seems that the new AI features may be a reason to rexamine this software. ### 3. GoodData is feature-rich and powerful. Our clients frequently visit our GoodData reports on a daily basis for many business-critical needs. As a developer, I can also say their customer support is also fairly good. I also like the work GoodData has done to modernize their frontend. **What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?** One issue I have is with GoodData's proprietary query language: MAQL. They claim it is simpler and more powerful than SQL, but I would have to disagree with that claim. I think the learning curve to use the product could be reduced if they simply used standard SQL. We also sometimes have struggles with performance of GoodData reports. I dislike their lack of feature parity with new products. It can make migrating to new products a bit more tricky. **What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoodData gives us a white-labeled BI solution that allows our customers to analyze their data with customized reports. Documentation explaining the configurations is way too confusing. Short and precise "how to" videos should be designed and implemented. I would think that customers should send their data in the way that the customers want to access their data. This should mean that the data would simply need loaded into a database table, and optionally a view to that table. Instead, there are source tables, staging tables, working tables, output tables and views; as well as merge tables and differential tables. There are multiple processes to get the customer table through each of these table and all require configurations. Rethinking as a more "out of the box" should be considered. **What problems is GoodData.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need a way for our customers to have overall glances at their data, and we want to configure some dashboards for them. ### 15. Other bizarre limitations such as being forced to make a HTTP call to force a cache refresh of underlying data sources (!?).
